Best & Worst Pirate Movies

is that the anime flick?

Best a toss up between:

the first Pirates of the Carribean, Disney's original Treasure Island and Captain Blood.

But since of all the fanboy cooing for POTC, I'll vote for Disney's Treasure Island.

Worst:

I'll also avoid the opportunity to say POTC3 (albeit it was bad and the worst of the three by far) and go with either Muppet's Treasure Island or PIrates of the Plains.

What about these?
Treasure Planet
The Pirate Movie(the musical)
Ice Pirates
Hook
Peter Pan
Sinbad Films
Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas

Hook and Pan were not bad films...or are you calling them good? In which case why is Treasure Planet on the list?

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

The entire triology had just about everything I could want from a pirate flick. Great story, good characters, and a satisfying conclusion. A more realistic take on pirates would be smashing, albeit it should be rated R. No pun intended. I've read up on some of their methods of punishment, as well as other aspects of the life style.

The 1990 Treasure Island with Charleton Heston and Hook are probably my favorites.

BEST:Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

Worst: Cuthroat Island *vomits*

I know it's not Talk Like a Pirate Day anymore, but how can you miss the greatest pirate movie, not to mention greatest pirate book, and just all around best adventure story ever, Rafael Sabatini's Captain Blood.

In terms of agreein' with the status quo, I'd be much obliged to mention Captain Sparrow as the best pirate these eyes be seein' in many years. However, a childhood fancy of me own was none other than "Muppet treasure Island"...now, there be humor on board a mighty fine ship! Hoist the anchor, and ready the sails...hahahahahaha...

Then of course, there was "Blackbeard's Ghost" a Disney flick way back when.
