Betty = Candace ?

Lets just say then that betty and candace are two completely different people. Betty has a power to alter her own appearance a la Mystique. Candace has a power to alter the perception of others, similar to Scarlet Witch. I think the writers would not want us, the viewers and readers to be confused with characters with a confusing storyline, name changes are rare in comics because then the readers would be like wtf. Betty does not equal Candace, similar maybe, but two distinct persons.

Well then she probably can. Or like the creator of the show said, maybe that particular appearance has become a reflex, since she nearly always maintains it.

looks like you missed the "well I think you know where this goes" part. not to mention the flurry of speculation, theories, etc., that were on the board after the episode aired. yes, it's overthinking it.

I really, sincerely, hope to see Candace next season; where Eden with similiar nuances and complexities 'failed' in her end, I'd like to see the former continue - even if the form we're used to seeing may not be the one that appears.

It's another case of people applying X-Men rules to heroes... in X-Men, when Mystique gets knocked out, she reverts to her blue form. So, when Candace gets knocked out, people assume that she HAS to revert to her real form. Most never asks "says who?"

maybe i didnt think of it that way, but let me tell you i really hope that betty isnt gonna come into the show bc there is no room in my show for some ugly pimply fat chick, call me a jerk but i dont need ne of that in my life.

You never know, it's entirely possible that her acne has gone away by now.

However, based on how she was pounding down those fries...I don't know about much else.

I'm hoping Candice shows up in season two sometime. They teased that there might be more to her character, so I'm hoping they follow up on that. It would give Micah more to do if they had him be the one to turn her around and make her have a more positive outlook on life or something.
