The Dark Knight Biggest Disappointment

the only disappointment i had is some of the scene and script were cut from the original trailer they showed us! :cmad:
other than that, it's wonderful. if i have not watch those trailers, i would be so disappointed.

My biggest disappointment that nobody might ever play Joker as good as Heath Ledger

Also, is it just me or was the musical cue when Batman jumps at Two-Face (the same one used at the start of the end credits in both movies) just out of place and clunky?

Is the joker laugh from tv spot 6 still in the movie? When he laughs while driving the truck?

I wanted to like this movie so badly. I didn't feel comfortable while watching it. It was too rushed, yet it felt so long. I think the sonar looked fantastic, but it's just as bad as the microwave emitter concept. Who couldn't love Heath's preformance though! The dialogue should have been louder and clearer. A lot of the parts of the movie just felt off to me.

Hehe - you should find all the NY critics who panned the movie and talk about how uncomfortable your TDK experiences were :hehe:

These really aren't disappointments, but more or less things I didn't care for.

The Sonar image use. The first couple of shots of the Sonar POV were used for a great purpose. But repeating the same blue hue/3D POV over and over to show the action going on inside the building was too much. After a point I was yelling in my mind "OK, I GET IT! HE CAN SEE WHERE EVERYONE IS AND WHAT THEIR DOING! STOP TWISTING ME AROUND".

The final editing bothered me a little. As it's been said before, there are many things from the trailers and tv spots that didn't end up in the movie. Though it doesn't take away or makes the movie any less, it would have been a bit fuller if we had those little longer clips. One example of this was the Semi/Chase scene. That was edited down too much. I also feel that there's a few missing scenes. They may not have had any real value to the film, but still would have been nice to see them. And the pacing of the film felt rushed during the first hour. These were no big deal, but could have been a bit better.

And it's been stated before, I didn't think about Heath Ledger one second during the movie until his final speech at the end were The Joker is talking about how Batman and him were meant to do this forever. The moment he said that I thought "Damn...". It was a total bummer moment for me. Heath was sooooooooo great as The Joker. The pencil trick....the audeicne flipped out over that.

But I was never disappointed with this film. It was great. Like all movies, it had it's flaws, but they were very small and didn't take away anything from the film.

As for Two-Face's death, I don't at all think he's dead. They never say he's dead. Batman and Gordon talk about how they can't let Gotham know about what really happened to Dent and feel that they need to hide the truth to protect Gotham from loosing faith. Of course, this means they have to act as if Dent is dead and Gotham must think he's dead but I'm sure he was KO'd and has since been put in Arkem in a secure place from public knowledge. He's prolly next to The Joker and Scarecrow. Could you image the converstations those three would have at Arkem?

So yeah. That's what I have to say.

ABleedingCorpse, I completely agree with you on the fate of Harvey Dent, and it cracks me up that so many posters on here will only be satisfied if he stays "dead." They have the right to their opinions, of course, but why do comic book movies have to kill off the villains? Does it really make Dent's story arc any less interesting or well done with him being alive and locked away in Arkham? Two-Face is one of the best of Batman's rogues gallery, and I think it'd be a total waste to kill him off after this one movie. That said, I no longer think he'll be the main villain in part 3, though. He was definitely showcased in The Dark Knight a lot more than I thought he'd be.

There were a few moments that, in retrospect, didn't sit well with me:

-The silly parking mode descriptions on the Tumbler control screen. 'Intimidate'? 'Loiter'?
-The constant commentary by the officer riding shotgun in Dent's transport during the tractor-trailer chase. It worked for a while, but then he just kept talking throughout the entire chase. It was annoying, to say the least.
-Batman's use of sonar in the final fight. It worked great when he rescued the hostages, but fighting the Joker while still using it? He's looking around when the sonar dies out on him, and does he ever think to stop using the lenses for a moment? He's effectively "blind as a bat" at that moment, when he just as easily could have stopped wearing them. It wasn't like he was in total darkness.
-I liked Dent/Two-Face, and I really enjoyed the way his character was handled, but if you had him survive a building blowing up right near him (causing his fire to light on fire), narrowly escaping a hospital explosion, and surviving a car crash, you may as well just go all the way and have him survive a three-story drop. It's not like it was THAT far down.

Anyway, thanks for hearing me out.

HAted the ****ing bat sonar P.O.V. and I hated the fact that we had to see Two-face, and see him randomly go after Gordon's son. Also hated the unrealistic behavior on the ferries.

The movie would have been perfect it have ended like this:

Right after The Joker Dent scene in the hospital. Dent goes missing (presumably dead in the hospital blast). No trace.

Then the Joker makes his threat on the boats. Batman learns of the Joker's position (This could have been done in a much more plausible way; standard computer monitors with a realistic looking digital display), and goes to the building. No lenses needed. No cheap, video game-looking P.O.V. shots. Batman uses his ninja tactics to take out the henchmen and SWATS, and then confronts the Joker.

And here We go! One of the ferries blows up; the prison one. The Joker proves his point. Batman is left in a dark place. The cops pin DEnt's death on Batman. BAtman is now the hunted. END.

NO!

Who is to say he didn't survive? I think the possibility is there that he is very much alive.

Dent is alive; well Two-Face is but Gordon can't really reveal that knowing what Two face has done, nor what he now looks like, so it's better than Gotham thinks he's dead.

Ok.

He just flew from one building, through a window, beat up 20 + swat members, was jumping down and up the different levels of the building, got mauled by 3 rotties while the Joker beat the living crap out of him with a metal pole for about 2 minutes, then had The Joker kneeling on his chest.. Wouldn't your words be a bit slurred?

no...but if the actor portraying bruce/batman probably had a coffee 5 minutes before shooting the scene there is no reason why he should sound slurred....

My biggest disappointment? The movie ended...it could have gone on as long as it wanted because I was completely willing to go with it.

My only disappointment is that Heath is no longer with us, whether or not they would have brought the character back either way doesn't matter. Talk about a beautiful talent..."we are destined to do this forever" :(

The best way to make it seem like the Joker didn't just disappear, especially after all the chaos he created, is to do a brief CGI scene. No dialogue from him; just a quick shot of him sitting in a straightjacket in the shadows of a cell at Arkham.

Though it does sound cool, it wouldn't really look great seeing how he would have to be make-up-less. The Joker vibe just wouldn't come off so well. But I guess it could work, depending on how shadowy it is and if all we would see would be his smile. That would be somewhat creepy.

the possibility that two face could be dead dissapoints me but i think two face is alive, and its harvey dent who is dead

and i wish the movie could of been longer but other than that the movie ws beautifully made. I dont know if its possible to make a movie better than the Dark Knight.
