Biggest Oscar Robbery

Bette Davis for All About Eve. Her performance was FLAWLESS.

Stringer said:
Joaquin Phoenix not at least getting a nomination for Gladiator.
He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

A few unmentioned:

Thomas Newman -- 10 brilliant scores nominated, including The Shawshank Redemption and American Beauty -- none winning. Same goes for James Newton Howard.

Mickey Rourke not winning for The Wrestler.

Probably been mentioned before.

_ STANLEY KUBRICK.

_ Pacino winning for Scent of a woman and not the Godfather 2 or Dog Day Afternoon.

_ Goodfellas losing to Dancing with wolves.

_ Peter Sellers in Being There losing to Dustin Hofman in Kramer vs Kramer.

_ Mickey Rourke not winning for The Wrestler.

_ TDK not being nominated.

Etc...

Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, and Robert Altman all never winning Best Director.

Ridley Scott for Best Director for Gladiator
Transformers for Best Visual effects
Private Ryan for Best Picture

uma thurman kill bill
v for vendetta.. for like every catagory

Gigi winning over Vertigo stands out most to me...

That's easy...

Ralph Fiennes (Schindler's list) loosing to Tomy Lee Jones (The Fugitive). WTF?

Hook and Edward Scissorhands not being nominated for original score.

Crash win the best picture over Brokeback Mountain.

Batman begins not being nominated for Score.

No Country for old men win over Atonement

Slumdog win over Benjamin Button

Gary Oldman never being even nominated for anything. That's a ****in' disgrace.

Adrien Brody over Daniel Day-Lewis. That was a ****in' joke.

Ralph Fiennes(Schindler's List) losing to Tommy Lee Jones(The Fugitive) back in '94. You have got to be kidding me....

Gary Oldman not being nominated for Dracula!!!

Russel Crowe sucked in A Beautiful Mind (BTW, A Beautiful Mind is one of the worst movies to ever win Best Picture)

I think exactly the same.

Oscars are a big-budgeted joke. As in, Chaplin: 0 - Kubrick: 0 - Hitchcock: 0 - Ron Howard: 1.

When they award talent I thinmk is merely coincidence.

This isn't robbery IMO. Tommy Lee was absolutely mesmerizing in The Fugitive and he owned the movie. It would have been merely good without him, but he made The Fugitive a truly great film.

The Kill Bill movies should have at least been nominated for some technical awards. I think the Academy might have something against Tarantino because he quit the Director's Guild. I'm interested to see if Inglourious Basterds gets any nominations this year.

V is good, but it's not an award-caliber movie.

The Wrestler got robbed twice this year, with Rourke not getting Best Actor and Springsteen not even being nominated for Best Song.
