Bioshock Infinite

^No, that's not what happens, although in the future you should spoiler things like that.

What REALLY happens is
the wrench from Bioshock 1 shows up and betrays you, and you're all like, "WRENCH, WHY"

:p

Just finished. Amazing game.

Ending thoughts, some spoilers:
So many twists, and set up all along the way in very subtle fashion. Very impressive, and tied together even better than the "Would You Kindly" from the first game--the brand, the missing finger, even the "Let the Circle Be Unbroken". Loved the little "cameo" Rapture had. :hehe: All the different Elizabeths at the end (including the original design before they changed her hair) was a nice touch, as well. I do kind of wish that Songbird had been more of a final boss, but this works too, I suppose. I wonder if anything's different if you choose the "cage" pendant rather than the "bird" one (since cage actually has a relevant meaning). Probably just FemLucete being all enigmatic and smug or somesuch.

Incredible game, easily as good if not better than the first one.

If it weren't for that moment I wouldn't recommend playing the first game before this one. :D So good. I felt so bad for Songbird, and then I realized we were in Rapture and my mind... it melted.

I do love the hints throughout the whole game too. Like the coin toss being the twin's experiment for constants vs variables as well as being a meta commentary about linearity in games.

Anyhoo this is the best explanation I've read for the universes,

Universe B

Dewitt is baptised and becomes Comstock after the Battle of Wounded Knee. Comstock is a hero of battle and becomes involved with politics.

Columbia was created to show the might of the US and was used by the government as a means of stopping the Boxer rebellion. Comstock becomes mayor of Columbia and takes the city away from the sodem soil.

Comstock tries to have a daughter with his wife, whom is later revealed to be sterile. The lutece twins' contiued research into quantum physics (the means of which Columbia floats) allows them to open doors between worlds.

Universe C

Dewitt backs out of the baptisim and takes up gambling as well as drinking as a means of dealing with his involvement at the Battle of Wounded Knee.

He gets into debt and has to sell his daughter (Anna) as a means of payment to Robert Lutece. She is taken by Comstock through a portal, which quickly closes a leavs a part of her little finger behind - she is now tainted as part of her still exists in another universe.

Booker now embarks on a mission to retrieve a girl from Columbia to wipe away his debt. His memories have become distorted due to his involvement with Anna but he has engraved her initials into the back of his hand.

Universe A

Elizabeth and Booker return to his batism ceremony after the Battle of Wounded Knee. He begins to see Liz's ability.

They return again and Booker is convinced that he should go through with the ceremony to keep Elizabeth safe from himself due to the event sthat have just transpired (the game). This will result in Universe B.

Elizabeth has another idea and decides to drown him, which denounces Universe B and C. The end credits roll and at the end we see that Anna and Booker are together in a universe where nothing has happened.

The thing is, I have no idea how DLC is going to work in this game.

:woot:

For people who've beaten it, how long did it take you? Did you take your time exploring the world, or just fly through it?

It took me about 13 hours, I spent a lot of time exploring but I breezed through a majority of the combat. Seeing Elizabeth discover cotton candy in particular was one of my favourite side moments. :D

So

Booker's counterpart in the Bioshock universe would be Subject Delta from 2 and Eleanor...
Elenaor LAMB (OH MY GOD I JUST REALIZED THAT)

Guys, i bought this game for the PC (my first PC game sicne forever) but where am i suppose to put my Industrial Revolution code? I tried searching on Steam, nothing, and the PC game has no DLC option right now outside of Season Pass, what to do?

On the bottom left of Steam you'll see this,

Redeem your code there.

Thanks, i'm so new to Steam that i'm making a total fool of myself.

13 hours? Thats disappointing. Thought it'd be longer.

At this point, I'm actually pretty disappointed with Elizabeth.

It's longer then that, if you actually breathe in the world, and want to explore/do every side quest. Also I'd recommend playing it on hard, normal was just a tad to easy to breeze through things. I think it takes longer than that if you truly do want to soak in the game. And very few games come along that I want to soak in the world it has created.

Yeah, I'm playing on hard, and am playing the side quests (though they're few and far between so far).

I found myself genuinely missing her whenever we were separated.

I think the average playthrough is like, 8 hours? I did take time to explore and watch Elizabeth discover things in the world, plus I only missed a handful of the voice recordings/videos.

Either way it's hard to scoff at a FPS for length when it has even just the potential of dipping into the double digits.

Sadly now-adays. FPS's use to last so much longer, but now they are lucky if they hit it. But it should not be luck, more devs should be looking at this length and beyond.

But even those times are changing. Halo 4, Far Cry 3, Blops 2, Borderlsnds 2 can all be over 10 hour campaigns easily

I've just been spending the day mulling over the game. I need to go and do another playthrough but I don't know if I am ready to start freaking out over the sheer amount of foreshadowing that I will be able to pick up on this time.

The game has changed a lot over the past series of trailers. Even scenes like Elizabeth getting caught by Songbird had some pretty significant differences.

I will choose to think of them as other Alternate realities.

Just finished this game, being an avid fan of the original Bioshock(didn't play 2 for intentional reasons).

Holy Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! THAT REVELATION! THAT ENDING!
Incredible! I've been BIOSHOCKED!

Wait, so
In the one universe that is Bioshock 2, Booker would be Subject Delta? And by Lamb you're referring to Lady Comstock being "the Lamb" of Columbia?

So what's replay value like? With the price of games i hate it when i feel like replay value is lacking.

I'd say pretty high just because 1999 mode is so intriguing

The girl who you were trying to protect in Bioshock 2 was named Eleanor Lamb who was being groomed by her mother to become a messiah for a communist utopia.

Here we have Elizabeth who is being groomed by Comstock, her "father", to become the messiah for his American Christian Fundamentalist utopia and is referred to as the Lamb.

In B2 Eleanor looks to Delta as a father figure while she is in opposition to her biological mother and even calls him 'father' whereas in Infinite Booker is literally Elizabeth's father and is opposed to Comstock who is not actually her father.

So going by Elizabeth's statement there there is always a man, a lighthouse and the two of them it fits that in the Bioshock 1/2 universe Booker and Elizabeth's equivalents would be Delta and Eleanor.

Also Booker Dewitt's initials are BD which could also stand for Big Daddy.

just picked this game up along with Tomb Raider!! woo-hoo!!

have been meaning to pick this up all week, i didn't know the original developers for BioShock did this one. I'm guessing there are references to the first and second BioShock games?

Aside from similar gameplay flourishes (such as the voice actor who supplied the voice for the Circus of Values recording supplied the same for the vending machine in the game,) the game is considerably disconnected from the preceding titles, save
the ending.

So I got to the part where I ask for tickets. All I want to say is...

Han shot first.

That's how I do things.
