Don't think my theater had anything like that either, not that I saw at least. They were giving away a cheap comic for free but that's about it haha.

Feel like that musical number was cut up in the editing room. Felt very jarring in the film, and I liked the pacing in general.

I dont buy it. The entire story of the film then would have been changed in reshoots. Hell half the character motivations would have made no sense. (although it would have been in line with the wackiness of the character) Since reshoots werent on the level of Rogue One that seems rather unlikely. (especially with this budget)

I mean I have seen enough tricks over the years to cover up a changed plot line but this is too front and center to make that work even with top level editing. I mean there is nothing referencing the leak AT ALL which is almost unheard of even when you have months to reshoot a film.

I guess they could have cut a completely outlandish version of the film for a screening where that plotline was part of it but then it is a completely different film. The Harley parts are mostly the same but Ewan's story is way different as are most of the BOP. (especially Huntress) Hell Renee Montoya literally has no reason to even be in the film under that plot line. It just doesnt track...

I guess I would have to see a full on breakdown of the story they saw...but they also have no reason to lie so I guess I have to take it at face value.

Honestly I dont think it would make much difference, its still a Black Mask after a kid who stole his diamond story. If anything it didnt make much sense now. Black Masks story... well you see him in only 2-3 different locations anyway so not impossible a big part of his performance was reshot to fit it.

I think the idea of a "shared universe" in the Marvel sense is all but dead.

I really think WB is playing to their strengths, which is one film at a time and doing daring, director-driven films.

So in some ways they may connect, in others they may not. A bit like comics, really.

I think there are 3+ separate universies now: Reeves Batman, Robbie/Squad, Aquaman + possibly Shazam cos Sandberg is from Team Wan and then theres Wonder Woman and the Flash possibly connected to it but who knows. I mean we didnt hear anything about The Trench for 10-11 months or so and then you have big gap between Aquaman 1 and 2 and kids from Shazam probably cant make more than 3 movies anyway.

I think it’s simpler than you think.

Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Shazam, Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, and Birds of Prey are all in the same universe. The only questionable one is if The Batman is in the same universe. I bet it will be, just loosely connected.

I think BoP would have been much stronger if the story wasn't non-linear. And it should have been at least 20-min longer because the BoPs aren't as fleshed out compared to Harley.

Absolutely. When all is said and done, I bet Reeves’ Batman will be in the new DCEU. The house of DC is regaining strength.

I had SUCH an unexpectedly great time with this movie! I mean, I figured I would enjoy it, but not this much. I actually even kinda started liking Harley Quinn in it, a character I've hated since I first met her in the early 90's, lol. Bravo, Margot. Now I'd just like to see a movie where the actual BoP get their proper focus, because I loved MEW and Jurnee in the roles.

What did you think of Harley in SS? Big improvement on that here?

Well people involved with Birds and TSS talk about parallel universe, reboot etc. I don't think this Harley will ever meet Batman again and they made sure we won't ever see Letoker again.

Why this of all movies lmfao. Fant4stic got like a 9% fresh but you're gonna decide to start skipping the one with 91% fresh?

The concept is not appealing to me plus the trailer did nothing for me.
I was sold for movies i didnt like by the trailer many times. This one wasnt to my liking.

And after 2 reviews with negative things to say about this one im skipping it completely.

I dont care about the fact that its vissually very nice.

Birds of Prey does a lot of world building and makes Gotham City feel like a real City surrounded by suburbs filled with with street-level crooks, thugs and mafia men.

With small town flea markets and eateries and small shops, the movie definately looks like it exists in same world (though not same City) as Shazam !

Visually, the cinematographer Matthew Libatique (Iron Man, Black Swan, A Star is Born) has done a good job and all the actions scenes are done in such a way that the viewer can clearly see what's happening on screen.

Big improvement, IMO. I thought Margot was good in the role in SS, but that version did nothing to change my general low opinion of the character. This one actually managed to make me like her. A little, lol.
