Crispin Glover would fail as Black Mask LightningFlash. I don't see how he would be threatening at all let alone have that rageful temper.

Has Glover actually played any character other than himself in a movie?

People are ignorant for bringing up Johnny Depp's name for every single villain.

I'd prefer either Crispin Glover or Tom Hardy for Black Mask. Different body types and choices, but both could work well.

Crispin Glover is right for The Riddler or Joker....not Black Mask

Crispin Glover isn't right for anything that isn't a B-movie or some Tim Burton crapfest.

I wouldn't mind seeing Crispin Glover as Riddler...I'd have a hard time seeing him as Black Mask.

Glover was cool in BTTF, Beowulf, and the rat movie. None of those were b-rate...well scratch that last one :o

Hugo Weaving did in V for Vendetta.

Touche, and depending on what way they go in Captain America, his face could be covered there too.

As for Black Mask, Tom Hardy please. I just want Tom Hardy in the film by whatever means necessary and that means being The Riddler rather than BM then I can live with that too. Loved his charismatic performances in RocknRolla and Inception, and as for Bronson, jesus there are no words to describe it....

James Purefoy

I liked him when I saw him in A Knight's Tale. Been watching his work ever since. I really want to like him as an actor, but he's just too weak. He was almost laughable as the lead in Solomon Kane (everything was laughable about that film, though).

He was terrific as Mark Antony in Rome, though.

Agreed. TV actor, though? One who's proved he doesn't have a cinema-level presence? Nah.

I think it's just more of the setting and story that they're used in. A lot of 'he/she's a TV actor's have been lucky to find the right vehicle to make that 'leap'. And Rome was about as 'cinematic' as it gets for Television. I think Baldwin even started on TV/Soaps, as I recall. And now....he's back on TV. :O

about thinking out of the box... what about BENICIO DEL-TORO? also, glover is a great actor, but he's great because he's so creepy and atmospheric. i could see him as riddler, mad hatter, ratcatcher or replacing cillian murphy as scarecrow.

Baldwin's kind of an *******, though, which played a part in him getting... demoted.

I agree with the whole "leap" argument, but Purefoy has had many chances and he blew it, the guy just doesn't have it in him, imo. He even left V for Vendetta (he was set to play V) because he just couldn't rise to the occasion.

Kind of? :cwink:

He was a riot in The Departed, though.

I think the right project with the right director could bring a lot more out of him. And we could probably think of harder roles to play than Black mask as well. But yeah, there are probably better choices out there.

Agreed. Thing is, I love Cillian Murphy but not a big fan of the Scarecrow in these movies. Scarecrow is just too tame, not at all freightening or creepy like he is in the comics or TAS. Crispin Glover would have been perfect for the role because he can bring along a very creepy disturbing presence. Imagine him hunched over, sickly skinny, low voice "would you like to see my mask." Glover would have been perfect.

Nah, Murphy was definately creepy as hell to me. Glover is, too, but not the right kind for the part.

There were no scenes in which Murphy was really creepy. At least not in Batman Begins LOL

Only slightly so due to his mask. He doesn't have that slimey factor. But nvm, lets get back to Black mask on topic.

Really? "Slimey" was exactly what I think when I see Murphy's Jonathan Crane, especially in his first two scenes in BB. Glover is more the "I'm gonna follow you to a dark alley and smash your head" type of creepy guy.

Oh yeah, in fact I wasn't fully thinking about that bit. I did too love him in the scenes with Rachel I think that's when he came across as freightening the most. The maggots on his mask helped :wow:

LOL @ your last line. dont know if i should laugh or run away:lmao:

Glad you liked it. I edited it, b/c I fear it's gonna get me a warning, heh.

I'll edit the quote too...I see how lol. Your analogy scared even me. *slowly backs away*...*runs out of thread*

Thanks man. No need to leave. Here, would you like to see my mask?
