Blade Runner 2049 - Part 2

IGN's review is spoiler free, and I generally agree with what they have to say. They gave it a 9.7 and said it was totally worth the 35 year wait. I have steadily gotten more and more excited for this, and it appears for once, I won't be let down.

85 on Metacritic with 23 reviews.

Oh thank god.

You never know with the old AF sequels :O
Not laughing at you for being relieved. Laughing because it pretty much summed up my feelings for the past year on it as well and I don't think I realized it until I read what you wrote. :funny:

May not end up liking it, but everything I am reading sounds like we are all in for a treat. :woot:

Yeah, but that goofy **** wore contacts that actually made him blind. Look, I'm all for an artist suffering for their craft. I played music for years, and I can't even begin to tell you how much physical abuse I put my body through all in the name of putting on a good show, but Leto and his method ****... Actual method actors are giggling at his ass. I want DeNiro to send him a used condom on his doorstep and be hiding in the bushes snickering like we used to do when we were kids. Well...we never left used rubbers, but replace bag of poop and you get the idea. :o :funny:

Right?! I thought this might get positive reviews, but I really thought we were gonna get another cult classic. I CERTAINLY wasn't expecting this, and that makes me ecstatic.

I wonder what happens to Rachael, Sean Young's character? I mean her and Harrison Ford's character of Deckard apparently run off together or they did 30 plus years ago

Now, fast forward to 2049 it is like Deckard is all alone so something tells me that Rachael she died and if she did then I wonder why Jared Leto's character wants Deckard so badly? I know Leto's character he basically is responsible for creating new replicants so I wonder if Deckard truly is a replicant and that is why Leto's character wants Ford's Deckard?

This is bull****. RT is a joke. Have you not seen the average rating for Fear and Loathing? These guys are clueless.

I was wondering that last bit myself, it seems to be implied from the trailer though I've been mislead before. :(

LOL, I see. Well I certainly hope I like/love it, as I love the first one so much.

Deckard seems to have some sort of info. It is why he went into hiding. What that is, is probably the big question here.

Unless Deckard is a replicant who thinks that he is human or perhaps he is half human half replicant

Idk... apparently Ford and Scott were still arguing that fact all through filming, so it's hard to say. They did state that they clear that up in this film correct? I don't care either way honestly. I don't feel that it makes that much of a change to the character or his growth. What camp is everyone in? Who sides with Scott and think that Deckard is a replicant, and who sides with Ford and thinks that Deckard is human?

The io9 review has some legit spoilers, so don't read it, if you are avoiding. But I feel like this paragraph pretty much sums up Leto now.

https://io9.gizmodo.com/blade-runner-2049-is-gorgeous-long-brilliant-pretent-1818967999

Leto’s Niander Wallace isn’t, thankfully, in this movie much. First of all, an unintended consequence of his “method” is that it’s now impossible to see him in a film and not think of him as Jared Leto. He doesn’t disappear into roles anymore. If you told me that in the future, Leto becomes a blind tech billionaire who speaks in circular riddles, I’d believe you. It’s just him now. Second, he’s also so over the top that, in a movie where everyone else is giving much lower-key performances, he’s impossible to take seriously.

I think Deckard he may be a replicant who thinks that he is human perhaps through brainwashing...I mean stranger things have happened

If he's a replicant he absolutely thinks he's human. That was why it was so difficult for him to tell that she was a replicant. She was never told and implanted with all those memories, so how could she know? At least I think that's right. It has to be well over 10 years since I've actually seen it. I need to watch it again before I make the trek to the theater to catch this.

And it's still on 85 on Metacrtic. Also RT just pools everyones reviews. They don;t do anything.

You ain't gonna like this movie if you didn't like the first one.
