The stories of his antics on the Suicide Squad set have been public for months. Either Villeneuve knows and doesn't care what he's getting into, or knows it won't apply because he's not casting him in a role like that of The Joker. Either way, it's not like Villeneuve is getting a fast one pulled on him.

The Leto hate has gotten over-the-top. Yes, he's a pretentious ass, but big whoop. If you despised everyone's acting for their ugly personalities, you'd have to cut a lot of actors and filmmakers out of your life. He's a good actor, which is what should really matter as far as watching a movie with him in it.
