Bleach HQ

Man, I haven't watched Bleach in awhile. I gotta catch up...

the thing I'm most curious about now is Ichigo's father's past.

it seems he was a captain level shinigami......

I'd like a story arc focusing on his time in Soul Society and what caused him to leave to the real world.......

well he has a captains robe thing on his left arm.

i would have said it was fairly obvious he was captain class, he pushed aizen to his physical shinigami limit in a sealed sword battle.

saying this, aizen's sword was also sealed, but it's still one helluva feat.

on raw power only, i would say he's in the top three most powerful characters in the show.

I think its very sketchy based on how inconsistent their strengths are. A lot of times a character is strong when he needs to be and weak when Kubo needs it to be. Also all Ichigo mainly does is get "resolve" and wins the battle.

yeah but the quiet older characaters who never are brash are always notoriously powerful.

urahara, isshin and ryuuken are without a shadow of a doubt heavy hitters.

i mean to a certain extent, urahara could be said as one shotting aizen, which is an incredible feat within itself.

New Bleach chapter actually went places unlike last weeks.

Ishida blaming himself was a bit ridiculous but I liked the captains subplot. Byakuya and Kenpachi kicking ass as usual.

I just hate how things barely happen in these chapters. Things are going way too slowly.

yeah it's still pretty slow and is just a fight set up one

although there is some interesting development into what ginjou actually is and what ichigo kurosaki actually may be.

Renji is all powerful along with the other members of the Gotei 13.

Something we already knew by the end of the Ichigo vs Aizen brawl by the way Hitsugaya started to train immediately and found it somewhat unacceptable that Ichigo could be so far past them in power.

Good to see they've all been training hard. Other than that nothing much has happened, like at all. :(

yeah it looks lik the gotei 13 have done some catching up, although i don't know whether even though they have all been training to take on aizen, any of them really comprehend how strong aizen actually got at the end of deicide.

aizen took a hit from mugetsu and was still standing.

although taking on aizen without the hogykou, he was pretty easy to kill, infact aloto f the gotei could have managed it already if not for his zanpakto.

even so, it's a shame that the fullbringers are not living up to any potential, they are being dealt with far too easily.]

i really hope tsukishima and ginjou at least hold their own and don't die, they are too good to waste as fighting plot devices in this arc.

What happened to the Hougyoku after Aizen was defeated?
I don't quite remember.

it's still embedded inside him, it just doesn't apparently recognise him as its master anymore and therefore only acts to keep him immortal

On that note I feel that they were a bit careless of just keeping him sealed and contained within Soul Society.

If the Hogyoku merely noted Aizen loss of confidence due to Ichigo completely outclassing him in that fight and causing Aizen to no longer be recognized by it then maybe during confinement the Hogyoku will read his heart and find him worthy of merging with it once again.

Always came off as a little irresponsible that they'd just leave the Hogyoku inside of the guy. I know he's under Urahara's seal but surely it can break if Aizen does fully merge with the Hogyoku.

it's a ticking timebomb plotdevice i think.

but i don't know how they would go about removing it. i never read how they got it out of rukia or how a fusion with it works so it's completley over my head.

That's exactly what it is I think and I have a feeling Aizen will probably appear sooner rather than later.

Maybe his bankai is one of the things that free him?
I always wonder why some of them don't use it. Maybe it's too destructive to themselves?

he can't bankai, he doesn't even have a zanpakto anymore apparently

I so hope Azien never returns in any prominent role, its just so uninteresting when all he has to say is "just as I had planned" to beat anyone.

While I did like Aizen his entire reasoning for merging with the Hogyoku and doing everything that he did lacked good motivation.

Other series took care of that aspect far better (*cough*YuYu Hakusho*cough*).

That's one thing Kubo always struggles with.

Personally I'm more curious about the Spirit King being an "it" and "thing". That's something that gave Aizens reasoning to follow through with his plan a bit more depth. Apparently him having seen the Spirit King made him want to kill "it" and all of Soul Society as well.

I wonder what could be so bad about the Spirit King that Aizen finds so repulsive. That was such a mysterious conversation between Urahara and Aizen.

Hope that gets elaborated on.

With this latest chapter I can't be the only one that sees the striking parallels between the Fullbringer arc and Chapter Black. Not that it wasn't blatantly obvious since this arc started but the similarities keep growing.

Not really complaining, if Kubo is going to take "inspirations" from somewhere it might as well be YuYu Hakusho.

I've never watched Yuyu Hakusho...

This arc had lots of potential but these fights are really quite unnecessary, I wished, ichigo actually did one shot the majority of them and only a couple are left.

Kubo is dropping the ball with providing interesting fights these days. outside of byakuya vs kugo, the last really good fight in bleach was between ichigo and grimmjaw.

he doesn't understand that for a fight to be interesting, both combatants must be relatively even in power. These one sided shinigami fights do nothing for me

especially the way yukio lost, what a cop out.

They're lazy is what it is. Pretty disappointing.

Some are even saying this complete elimination of the Fullbringers like this was in due to the sinking sales and rankings for the series this past year.

Thus the now complete execution (pun intended) of the fullbringers in such a cheap and quick fashion.

It would also explain Hitsugaya being there.

As for YuYu I really recommend it. Bleach takes a lot from it but unfortunately the characters aren't anywhere near as memorable, charming and the relationships with the protagonist and the villains are far more fleshed out and plotted in ways Kubo unfortunately isn't able to do, Togashi is just a better writer.

The YuYu anime is also directed by Noriyuki Abe who also directs Bleach. He's a great director and a big reason as to why Bleach has become the franchise it is/was.

Don't want to sound like a complete hater as Bleach still stands as a solid shonen title. The main reason I was attracted to it initially was because of all the similarities with YuYu Hakusho though.

Yu Yu Hakusho is the best anime I've seen so far and also my favorite. I fully recommend it too.

New chapter is out, I actually enjoyed this one quite a bit.

Bleach (anime) is back to adapting the manga and the latest episode I'd highly recommend for people to watch it. Nice episode showing Rukia and Ichigo's camaraderie. A lot of it the episode was filler to expand on several scenes of the manga but somehow it actually worked a lot better than the "departure" worked in the manga which felt to brisk and simplified for my taste.

The last scenes in the episodes though looks like they took it straight from the manga. I'm also glad that we'll be getting the main animation team back as well.

Sneak peak of Ginjo as well for the next episode. :O
