Talk about the first episode featuring Mysterio.

Directed by Jennifer Coyle and written by Kevin Hopps.

Is this a little...early? We'll not be seeing this for 7 months...

I cn't wait for this episode! I've been looking foward to seeing Mysterio in this show for a while.

Ah so blueprints is going to be the title for season premiere. I forgot is kraven or mysterio first.

Here are the facts we know so far for those who don't know yet:

*The episode will air sometime in March, 2009.
*Quentin Beck/Mysterio will appear as the main villain, voiced by Xander Berkeley.
*Phineas Mason/Tinkerer makes an appearance, voiced by Thom Adcox.
*The Master Planner will appear. It is unknown if he will be Doctor Octopus, so it is not safe assume he will be voiced by Peter MacNicol.
*Eddie Brock has been missing since he defeat in the season 1 finale and Spider-Man will be actively searching for him.

Yeah, this is early. This topic may be on Page 10 before the episode even airs.

I am curious about the depiction of Mysterio here. Naturally, I do like that Quentin Beck was built up beforehand, working as a special effects crook alongside Chameloan and Tinkerer.

The 90's show had an interesting angle for Mysterio; rather than being goofy and over-the-top, Mysterio had a bit of a bitter angle to him. He hated that his capture at the hands of Spider-Man as a less flamboyant crook ruined his career, so he wanted basically to avenge himself on Spider-Man and to make his death as embarassing as possible. Both of his feature episodes from that show were good, and unlike Green Goblin, he was allowed to actually die (instead of being sent to another universe).

The classic Mysterio is often grand and theatrical but can also play some slick mind-games with his illusions. He's one of Spidey's A-List and hopefully is handled well.

Me too! It was a smart and very cool thing to do.

Yeah. Granted, building up threats is what this show has been all about. Wiesman knows perfectly how to properly use the serial format.

Exactly, and I personally think that he's the Sam Raimi of the Spidey animated show world.

I dunno much about Mysterio. How do his ilusions work and can they hurt people or is it all in their minds? Cuz at the CC preview his little purple demon bats cut up sPidey''s suit and one bit him pretty hard.

He also seemed to be chanting latin.

Either we're seeing it from Spidey's perspective and he thinks getting cut up or the bats are animatronics/robots. I'm going for the latter

Hes probably doing that to make people thinks hes the real deal, like hes a sorcerer or something. Similar to what Mysterio was trying to do in the SM2 game with the whole alien invasion stuff.

That makes alot of sense, IMO. It's also always been a cool thing to me that he spoke in a different language in the S-M2 game. Also, just to let you guys know, the words that Mysterio said in the game in that theatre level was actually words that Bruce Cambell spoke in Army Darkness. That's for another topic though.

Can't wait for this episode. Mysterio will be a fantastic villain! :oldrazz:

Since the Tinkerer is confirmed for the episode as well, I'm positive that the bats are animatronic.

Damn, sounds like a great season opening, Mysterio, the search for Eddie Brock, and can't wait to see the development of Pete's and Gwen's relationship! is this episode set days after Thanksgiving?

^^ I too am looking foward to seeing where Peter and Gwen's realtionship goes. It sure will be one of those hundreds of things that will keep us watching.

I like fish-bowl, can't wait to see em in this show. Kind of wish I'd made my user name Mysterio all those years ago I joined, the name was probably available. Why did I think adding 9000 would be funny? Damn 14 year old me!

If I remember correctly, they said in a that season 2 is going to take place from January to April. So there skipping over December.
