The Dark Knight BOF update

I hope we hear something about the Harvey Dent casting soon too.

I know that the hype has begun already but with this news now its oficial. I remember the first time I read the script review on lationo review, I was blown away, I still remember my thoughts on it ( what bruce will be a ninja training in a monastery in the Himalayas, and we will see his training and he will be seeing in jail, Oh this is some awesome stuff gasp) and then when I read the first draft I was even more excited about the project.

Finally...a little bit of different news. Chris is probably making some additions himself. The final screenplay credits will probably be in Jon and Chris name....with of course the story credits going to Goyer.

I sent LR a message about a script review, and they said that they couldn't post one until they were given the go-ahead by WB.

So, for anyone thinking Chris and Goyer reduced their involvement in the script, they´re still both very much into it. Of course the Latino Review script review will be based on a draft, not the final script.

Exactly.....if LR does release a script review.....it should be just a draft and not the completed official screenplay. At least I would hope. I don't want the official screenplay leaked out.

Nice. Maybe it will happen around X-Mas time. It would be a nice "gift" to us fans.

I dont see why WB wouldn't want a positive script review out there on the internet - as long as the spoilers are kept to a min.

Whether there is a script leak or not, ultimately a novelization of the film will be published before the film is released. Either way the story will be available—in one form or another—before the general public actually sees the film. So it’s not so much a matter of if but when. What difference then does it make if the basic story is revealed in the near term as opposed to a month or so before the premier? Of course, you don’t have to read either should you not want to be spoiled, but this much is certain: WB doesn’t really care; otherwise they would postpone any novelization until after the film is released. It all comes down to making money, and if there is no leaked script then those who need to know asap will be more apt to buy the novelization, but if there is a leaked script then that novelization no longer holds the same value.

Good info, hopefully a script leak will come our way. :batty:

I believe that Novelizations are not always 100% with the movie - I read on the HYPE that the Superman Returns Novel had Jason's Father Situation to be much less clear. That is a major difference from the Movie.

No script leak, please. No doubt if there is, some idiot will post whatever major spoilers there is and ruin any surpirses, just like they did with Begins.

The chances of that happening are slim. Even with BB, all that was leaked was Goyer's rough draft. The only SR leaked (late in the game) was the budget draft.

I don't honestly see WB caring THAT much about spoilers anyway, unless there is some huge twist in the movie. The vast majority of people readin gthe online script reviews are the people like us who visit forums, and will pretty much piece together what happens anyway, script review or not.

The only idiot in that scenario is the person who gets pissed at reading spoilers in the SPOILERS SECTION ;).

I wasn't here for Begins - but I have heard horror stories about the Ra's/Ducard spoiler being mentioned in the Non-Spoilers board.

If you saw Batman Begins and then read the BB novelization you would have been surprised by some of the new things you read there, but if your read the book first then saw the film, while you may have noted some omissions, you would none the less have the essential gist of the film. That's why I referred to the "basic story". And I supsect that’s true of the Superman Returns novelization also.

never a doubt in my mind that there was a near finished script floating around. but it's always good news to hear that Nolan is still part of the storytelling though. CANT WAIT FOR SCRIPT REVIEW!! : )

Yeah, that did happen. In that case, the poster is not only an idiot, but an *******. That's why at the time of BB, the Bat Boards had a mod specifically appointed to them.

Gotta miss snipe :csad:.

Well, people were speculating that Ducard was Ra's way before that, after WB mishandled the press release of Liam Neeson being cast. Jeez, that was smart.

Then people got all pissed when Ken Watanabe got cast as Ra's al Ghul. Comments like, "Dude that's so stupid!!!1 Ra's isn't Japanese!! WTF?!!?!"

While those of us who read the script laughed our asses off.

I hope that we don't get a script review. I hope there isn't a script leak. I do hope we get a ton of pictures like we did during BB. I think it'd be more exciting to have to try and piece the story together than having it all laid out for us with a review or leak. I know I would read the review/leak if it were available, but if WB can keep it under wraps, please do.

I just want a script review so that I get a general idea as to what direction Nolan is taking the characters (The Joker especially).

And of course, to see if the script is even good to begin with.
