Dent "Candidate" Eliminated
Author: Jett
Thursday, December 21, 2006 - 6:58 AM Hugh Jackman has put to rest any talk of him playing Harvey Dent in THE DARK KNIGHT. “Same thing [as SUPERMAN RETURNS because I had worked with Bryan Singer]. I think because I’d worked with Chris Nolan. I think it was just fanboy stuff.” BOF thought the same thing when the Jackman rumors first surfaced -- they were due to the fact that Jackman was in Nolan’s THE PRESTIGE. With that said, Jackman did help fan the flames when he said that if Nolan called him to work on TDK, he’d be there. Let’s don’t put all of this on the Batman fanboys.

So who will nab the role of Harvey Dent? Even though BOF has imposed a moratorium on Dent rumors, we should find out soon enough since filming is only 3 months away. Remember, the last we heard was that Nolan and co. were “aiming high” in regards to casting Dent and the choice may be “unconventional.” We shall see. Source: MOVIEHOLE.NET and thanks to "Rick" for the lead...

Happy Holidays to all -- even the haters! ;) I appreciate your patronage and support! 2007 is going to be a FUN year, trust me

Jackman is out as Dent "candidate" Everyone knew he wasn't going to be Harvey Dent aka Two-Face.

I never considered Jackman part of the running in the first place. He was too convenient and cliche a choice to begin with.

Plus Jackman is busy man this year so i don't think he has clear timetable to filming TDK even if he was chosen by Nolan.

Not a surprise I didnt think Jackman was a candidate anyway.

I would've liked him to be Harvey, but the fact that he was working on another movie and couldn't is old news.

I would have liked him, but he was never a serious candidate.

You'd better be! :cmad:

Just kidding, dude. ;)

As much as I like Jackman as an actor, and as person in general, I could never seriously envision him as playing Harvey Dent. Yes, he's a great actor. Yes, he may have been great for all I know. But I can't say I'm at all upset that he's now 'officially' out as a candidate for the role.

good riddence i say. i guess now its just between vin diesel and paul reiser

Im happy he's out. He's in too many movies Im beginning to get tired of him.

man, jett's always got the scoop! I've actually got one of my own from a cast-iron source, marlon brando will NOT be playing dent in TDK, though you should probably take that with a grain of salt y'all!

I think at least 95% of us already knew Jackman wasn't going to be Dent...so no biggy there.

If they go "unconventional and a non cracker" and if they cast an african-american actor...(which I think they should not do) the ONLY african american actor that I would accept as Dent would be Terance Howard! Doubt he will be cast because he will be in Iron Man I believe. Denzel is too old....and he has been playing the same type of roles for the past 5 years practically.

Denzel is NOT too old to play a D.A.

Good.
I love Hugh to death, but he was never a main contender in my eyes.
My #1 choice is Liev. Since it is said that Nolan is "aiming high", Joaquin is not so out there anymore.

if it is a bigname, itd be brad pitt.

Brad Pitt would own as Harvey and two face... he's hardly an unconventional choice though.

If it seems weird they´re taking so long to cast Dent, don´t forget principal photography doesn´t start till March, and they already got the main cast and Joker. It´s not unusual that even an important part is cast as close as a few weeks before shooting starts. If I´m not wrong, Dafoe was cast as Osborn/GG very late in the game for the first Spider-Man.

This is same thing Miranda has posted before Jett did:

Dent Talk
Author: Jett
Saturday, December 23, 2006 - 3:06 PM: Our friends over at IGN FILMFORCE ran a blurb they've heard regarding the casting of Harvey Dent. Seems we've heard the same thing:

"While sources won't allow IGN Movies to name names, we have heard that several well-known actors are under consideration to play the man who would be Two-Face and, like Heath Ledger as The Joker, none of them are conventional choices."

http://www.batman-on-film.com/batmovienews.html

He also posted this on the forums:

^ yes, but it's not that direction. Jake Gyllenhaal would be conventional. As would Liev Schrieber. Basically, a good-looking white dude is "conventional" because that's how the character has been portrayed in the comic books for many many years.
I'd say it's a black actor and seeing as how Jett hinted on his blog (it's now deleted for some reason) it was an Oscar winner, that's two choices and both I'd be pretty happy with.

I'd prefer Denzel over Jamie Foxx though. Because Denzel is...Denzel.

We see but it seems it is hard to find an actor that could play Dent I mean it didn't take them that long cast Ledger as Joker.
