Borderlands 2

I'm loving this game. Since I never played BL1 I'm a bit confused about how skill tree unlocks work and stuff, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of that.

Is it better to just pick one skill tree and max it out rather than mix skill trees for this game? It seems like you need to max out each skill before the next unlocks, which is kind of weird to me because you can't mix and match skill trees effectively in that way. So, basically, as a Gunzerker (my class) it seems like I have to just make a choice on whether I want to be a tank character, a guns character, or a rampage character.

Which would kinda suck a little.

You can have a mix of tree's, yes. I myself am playing as a Commando, I'm filling my Guerrilla tree up to where my turrets can shoot rockets, then filling my Survival skill tree until I get the shield for my turrets then going to the Gunpowder tree to try to get the Nuke blast for my turrets.

Yeah, but I find it weird in the sense that since the skills don't unlock by level, you'll essentially never get certain powerful skills. For instance, I can max out my "Brawn" skill tree, but I won't be able to ever get, say, the 4th skill down on the Rampage skill tree as a result. I'd have to settle for a maxed out Brawn and a couple low-mid level skills from other trees.

You have enough to specialize completely in one tree and half of another. It helps that you can respec anytime.

I might have to open that gold loot chest early :P I'm already a total bad ass. Lovin' the Gunzerker. Mixed with my Commando and Siren friends, we were tearin' through dudes.

How do you join up to Shift? I can't find it on the Gearbox website.

Create your login here:

And then sign in on the game menu under 'extras'.

lol pat...you scrub!

Man no kidding. I had this preordered from Amazon and canceled it to get F1 2012(incredible game). Then im walking around best buy and i see it, just staring at me. Had to snag it. The bright side was that i was able to use a 20 dollar prepaid amex gift card. So that was kinda cool.

Anyone else addicted to slots at Moxxxis? I think I spend 75% of my money there lol.

I just killed an enemy and as he died he whispered: "Midget lover!"

So there was a glitch for me and my friends tonight... The golden chest just kept being opened, even though we'd run out of keys.... We got so much swag but after my friend had gotten HEAPS of weapons I was like "Look, I'm happy with what I've got." It just gets cheap and undermines the excitement of finding loot. I've always hated exploits in games like this. You need that sense of excitement and progression, I reckon.

Anyway, heads up if anyone is into that sort of exploit. It happened after we'd registered to shift AND had the premiere club thing.

I've heard about that glitch.. That's the type of glitch that seems awesome at first...then it quickly takes the fun out of things. Like I said, I got this one AR in the gold chest yesterday (I'll post the stats later) and every AR I've found so far hasn't even come close to it. Kind of bums me out, lol.

I hope to find a BA shield though, everyone I've found so far is kind of meh.

Yeah, the funny thing is, all the awesome weapons he spawned and none were as good as the legitimate ones i got from the chest myself anyway. And the weapons weren't even worth that much so you didn't get super rich. We pretty much got enough money to get the Mad Moxxi tip jar achievement then I lost interest in the cheap loot glitch.

If anything, seeing that many weapons in one place was just stressful. I'm sure they were ALL awesome in their own way but you can only use one gun at a time anyway (or 2, in Gunzerker's case)... So having access to unlimited awesome weapons is just a silly novelty.

Btw, anyone keen on playing over the weekend, I want to start a new game as Zer0 since my friends are away and we want to wait to finish the game we started together. I'm particularly keen on having a one of every character type playthrough for that too, so anyone on xbox interested just let me know.

My gamertag is Wolvieboy :)

Sweetums. I've never been keen on glitches period, especially in loot-centric games like this. Kinda defeats the purpose of playing the game, IMO.

Yeah, if I took advantage of said glitch it would be to get money for the Moxxi achievement.

funniest line for me is when I killed and enemy and he said "tell my wife....shes a b*tch"

I still think the whole Bonerfart thing was hilarious. Immature? Sure. Extremely funny? Hell yes.

Played for like 2 hours last night. Lot of fun. Little confused though. Not sure why this Handsome Jack dude wants me dead. Also, are there no upgrades for guns? Just better guns right?

Another question about Shift: I signed up for it, got my second Gold Key and whatnot...but it always asks me for some long code.

Never got any long code..Email or otherwise.

Handsome Jack is just an evil dick, lol. He kills Vault Hunters (which, we are) so he can find and keep everything for himself.

Also, are there no upgrades for guns? Just better guns right?

Nope, no gun upgrades... Just better guns.

I do like the skins and whatnot you can unlock as well. I like the "Grizzled Vet" Commando headskin. Reminds me of Van Zan from Reign of Fire.

Oh so you can unlock more outfits and stuff for your characters? How do you change them?

You can change them at stations...I forget the name of them. There's one in the main hub world when you get to it also right after you help Claptrap get his eye back. You can buy them if you see them or you can unlock them in quests or by getting certain Bad Ass Point completions. You can change the color of your outfit there as well as respec if you need to.
