Got New Excalibur...loved it. Shadow King was a good call. I really like this team make up. Juggy had his damn helmet on for two issues! Whoo!

The whole Shadow King thing was last issue, not the new one :)

My reviews:

Uncanny X-Men 475 - Great issue! The art is wonderful (save a few odd Beast pics), and it was well paced. Mostly a building story, but it sets the stage for the bigger story. I love seeing Warpath with the team and I can't wait to see what happens next.

New Excalibur 9 - Interesting issue. I'm a big Chamber fan, so it's good to see him back... however, I haven't read Apocalypse Vs Dracula, so I'm not sure what his connection to Apocalypse is, or why he suddenly looks like Apocalypse Jr. It wasn't a great issue, but it was good. I like that they gave us an ending for the Weapon X series and let us move on from that, so that was good. Hey, this book gave us Chamber back, so that makes me happy enough :)

Beyond! 1 - Interesting read. I've not read anything with Gravity before, but he seems like a character I can really get into. And the ending was kinda odd being that we know Spidey won't stay dead,... though I loved the Venom Scorpion Tale. I like the Scorpion as Venom, but I still prefur Brock. Here's hoping that the Symbiote deserts him and he finds a costume of his own (hey, this is where Spidey found the suit to begin with).

I haven't read Thing yet... I'll have to get back with you on it.

i just don't like the negativity, as i've quite clearly expressed on other boards. I read Dread's reviews when theyre up and appreciate them as much as the next guy, my point was it just seems as if criticisms of the books were wholly aimed at marvel in general. but whatever. i dont know anything.

but his criticizms are legit....he just not saying "Marvel sucks".....he is legitimately complaining about the marketing The Thing got compared to crapfests like Howling Commandoes

Am I really going to have to sit you down and have the 'big talk' with you again? You know the one where everyone has a right to their own opinon that may or may not be reflected in the sales and popularity of a title? Now after me and your Mom get done wrestling, we'll have that other talk.

I hope you meant "can't".

Surely it was the execution and not the idea itself?

Cause it'd been years since Fury had had a series and Thinbg gets one now and again. He's of a higher profile and itsa good book right? Maybe they thought it'd be enough. Am i the only one that thinks there's not much they can do to get us to read these books? I pay far more attention to reviews and you guys' recommendations than any marvel advertising.
Maybe a jewish blob of rock isnt popular enough with the kids. Just...saying... Im gonna get caned for this. can i point out i love the thing and thought he was cool in the latest issue of FF. im still gonna get fried arent i? yup, yup, yup, yup.

Wow. So that's how you keep getting f'ed up.

Marvel: Pushing their flagships

Hype: Pushing anything NOT flagship

So you can be a big corporation media ****e or an underground resistance sheep.:down

Well the idea was kill lots of avengers and **** them up. Not much you can do with the xecution if the idea is that messed up.

im sorry, i didnt understand a single word of that. i think it was some kinda hit against me, but agen -- i dont get it. comic books arent like movies, theyre not advertised on TV. i rarely take notice of advertisements. all im saying is that i wuda bought the thing if i cared about his character. it wasnt marvel's lack of advertising that held ME back, personally. I dont see how much difference it could have made.

A shot at you?! Who died and made you important? You said you'd take the reviews and advice of members on this Forum over Marvel solitications, you know all those pretty pictures that appear inside your comics between panels?

Gah, nevermind. I need a Hooked on Phonics translator to get my point across on a more basic level.:(

How about reading what you like to read?

wow, i agree with darth. so again i wana know: how is marvel at fault for the cancellation of the thing? if not enough people wanted to read it then its gonna get cancelled. even if it is a good book. they have to be run like a business or we get more bankruptcy problems.

u highlighted something i said and then appeared to say that either means a marvel zombie or a sheep. i didnt get the relevance in the convo that we were having. agen, more animosity from another poster for no good reason. i was only askin.sheeeesh.

no, just most people seem to have a problem with killoing off their fave characters. bendis ideas are generally: lets kill this this and this. there's not much you can do to waver from that -- all the surprsies are in the plan.

Heh, which works fine when he takes the average tripe pumped out by the 'top' overly critical sum*****es (watching old SCSA tapes sorry) instead of forming his own views. Yeah, just keep ingesting what someone else has to say, so much easier than standing on your own two, 'eh?

Poker: If you haven't gotten such a basic point by now, just forget it. I suppose you have to be talking about something profound, like cosmic vegetables stuck in your teeth for your average poster to understand what you're saying.:o

I just picked up all my books today, cause I've been running low on cash/time in my bank account. Only got around to reading Beyond! 1/6.

Gotta tell you, I hope spidey stays dead. Would be funny as hell if he actually died and stayed dead in this mini, but we all know that wont happen. The Venom/Scorpion thing is some good creative work, what with him impailing Parker through the chest with his tail while Parker was busy boasting about how he always beats Venom/Gargan.

Now if only they can do this in continuality.

Holy **** dude,it never ends with you.You honestly need to shut the hell up.It's getting really annoying real fast.Just go to the DC forums or something, you're a frikkin' non-stop whiny little child.

Maybe you should write a song about how Marvel sucks in order to be more constructive and maybe get your crappy band recognized.

Well, why don't you cry about it?

genesis: oh great, another poster stuck up his own ass. u dont listen to recommendations? fine. i was saying i do. i cant afford to buy every book under the sun to try them out. i try LISTENING TO OTHER PEOPLE'S VIEWS and go from there. that in itself isnt too difficult for your mind to comprehend is it? i didnt say i then jump on the wagon. since when have i agreed with, like, ANYBODY on these boards huh?
