There's nothing pretentious about size 13 feet, thank you very much.
Nextwave #12 - It's finally come and gone, and I know that a great many people hate the book, but I enjoyed it for just being goofy, and obviously teasing the genre. But, ... the last issue was better. It all ends in one horrible anticlimax, and then there's a sly grin into the camera. Psh.
Justice Society #3 - Besides not really knowing who any of these characters are other than JLU appearances and what Wikipedia can tell me, I'm really enjoying this book. The only member I know enough about to speak comfortably is Wildcat, and I would definitely read a solo book penned by Johns. However, Cyclone's character went from funny and cute to annoying really quickly and I hope someone redesigns her outfit. She looks like a damn Christmas ornament.
Ultimate X-Men #79 - Honestly, Kirkman's writing hasn't bothered me. He's thrown a lot of cliches out there hoping that something would stick, and he's made a lot of changes in nonsensical ways, but I think this might be a turning point. It's scary how clever his own book can be and how clunky this can be. Plus, he's not credited on the cover, which made me chuckle.
Astonishing X-Men #20 - This issue has a lot of great moments, but the timing seemed off to me. There was too much focus on the exploding ship, and then suddenly they find "The Palace of Corpses". Maybe it was just me, but I would've liked a bigger buildup to the enomrous Colossus mural, not that it isn't awesome, because it really is.
Sensational Spider-Man #35 - The second issue in which the costume change goes almost totally unmentioned, but, as I've come to expect from Aguirre-Sacasa's run on this book, the story will be so interesting, what Spider-Man's wearing won't really matter.
Hellboy Animated: The Black Wedding TP - Who can resist more Hellboy? Tell me. He's big, he's red, he's moody. Actually, most characters involved in this get a decent chunk of time to themselves, with the possible exception of Abe. I'm glad this universe is seeing the light of day, because the stories they have to tell have all beem excellent so far. The backup story with Lobster Johnson was, dare I say it, a hoot. The goggles and stubbly little chin were a nice touch.
Batman #663 - I'm a literature major, so prose is not the problem with me here. I don't like clowns. It hasn't developed into a phobia per se, but I really, really don't like clowns. Because of the creepy visuals in the book, I can't really read it. I feel bad for wasting my money, and hopefully I'll pick it up and do more than flip through it someday soon, but for now, I'll stick with summaries. Filthy, scary clowns.
I also picked up Ghost Rider #8, Loveless #15, and Cassanova #7, but I haven't gotten past Ghost Rider #1, Loveless #2, or Cassanova #4, so reading them wouldn't do me much good.
