BOUGHT/THOUGHT Jan 31st

Wait until Summer when it's hotter than it currently is and most women are walking around half naked.:wow:

:jealous:

on-topic: When do you get your comics? Like, is there any delay for you since you don't live "on" the continent.

Not really. The only times there are delays is if there's some mix up at the airport or something like that. I don't go to my LCS on Wednesdays since most of the time they're still putting out the new stuff as they count it to see if they got the whole shipment. It's really hectic plus all the geeks that are past the point of being obnoxious have to HAVE their comics that day. And the store isn't that big, either.

Right. I always here Europeans complaining about getting their books months late. I'm not gonna lie, when I can't get my books on a Wed...I break out in a rash.

I would be one of those geeks, I pick mine up when they're still counting.

In England comics are released on a Thursday but on the continent (European one) it can be weeks after they have been released in America (that's a little bit due to them not being as popular as European comics).

A day later is not a problem (not like I've know it any other way and certainly before the internet community took off it wasn't an issue at all) and it is unavoidable but it's certainly annoying when you are looking forward to a book and some loud mouth shouts off spoilers in an unmarked thread.

I don't think I could visit the Hype if I were in your shoes. The spoilers here are rampant and I can't resist them.

What are the popular comics in England?

Oh in England it's all the same as America (except I believe Fantasy and non-Fiction sells better here than in America) and there are a few English comics like 2000AD (Judge Dread) that are still widely popular and can actually still be bought from newsstands.

I meant on the continent that the comic book market is completely different Superhero comics don't sell well at all and they will always buy their language comics above the translated American comics (this is another reason they take weeks and months to be sent to the mainland). I, however, can't name anything as my French and Spanish isn't really good enough to read their comics and only the major comics like XIII get translated. There are also a lot of South American comics in Spanish and Portuguese that sell well in Mainland Europe, so I'm told anyway.

Haha, I'm in England it's only a day for me so it's really never an issue (bar during Infinite Crisis actually when I made sure I stayed away). I have a friend who lives in France though and he found it impossible to keep up with current comics and just had to resort to importing trades.

I know there are people that get excited to get their comics on Wed. but I'm talking about these guys that are so geekish that they also start complaining that the comics aren't all out and then start b!tch!ng about other stuff; it's stupid obnoxious and shouldn't be the behavior of GROWN MEN. I've worked in retail and maybe thats' why I'm a little more considerate about the crap the store employees and owner have to put up with.

At this point I really don't care if you freak out again, Supermarvelman, but I wouldn't be surprised if you were the ultra obnoxious kinda geek instead of the geeks that just get psyched about getting their comics on Wednesday. I don't know which you are but I wouldn't be surprised, is all.

Anyway.......

52 Week 39: A lot of stuff is happening and although some things are being tied up I feel like there are more questions than answers and I like that. It means that we can still have some juicy stuff for the upcoming weeks. Magnus re-making the Metal Men as possibly mini-commandos is really cool. Mercury's comment to the Doc made me smile and gives me hope that he managed to fix the responsometer problem. The way I saw Luthor getting powers wasn't because he was faking all this time, but rather that they got evidence that he could and was being hidden by the scientist. The developments with the Black Adam family are interesting and is one of those things that made have more questions than answers. Overall, a very good issue.

Ghost Rider Finale: Damn! This comic made me realize how much stuff I had missed during GR/Dan's run.:( I was totally lost even with issue 93 being reprinted. All in all, it was pretty good and I guess it's a satisfying ending for people that stuck with the comic 'til the end. Even though I got some closure out of it I wouldn't recommend it for people getting into the current GR.

JSA Classified 22: I got this but I haven't even read it. Simonson's art I was able to tolerate in the 90's but right now I struggle to go from page to page. I'm getting it mostly to see how Hawkman comes back OYL and JSA:C is on my pull list.

NO I'm just the geek that, like to pick up his comics on Wednesday, but gets annoyed when they come out on Thursday, but I wont ***** about it.

And please Tropico, could you stop taking every opportunity to talk ****, you wonder why I freak out.

SMM, don't turn into the JAL of the comic forum. Let **** slide and don't even do the "witty comeback" thing. You'd be surprised how much less crap you'd get if you just flew under the radar

The Oolong Island part of 52 is starting to bore the crap out of me :csad:

I would have agreed with you last issue, but I guess the return of the Metal Men perked me up a bit. I'm also intrigues with the stuff Sivana found about "freezing time" and what he could have done to Mr.Mind. That Clock guy also brought up the 52 seconds of missing time again and it reminded me that it was another one of the mysteries to be explained yet.

I'd never heard about the missing 52 seconds. I also have no real knowledge of The Metal Men. The drawback's of being a DC noob.

*runs to wikipedia*

I dont know who JAL is but I understand what your saying, but why should I have to fly under the radar, and let people talk ****, thats rediculous to me. Thats like letting somebody pick on you all your life, and not say a damn thing. Do you think thats okay to not stand up for yourself? If you had a son and he was being picked on at school all the time, would you tell him "son dont stand up for yourself, you'd be suprised" I doubt you would.

I'm not telling you not to stand up for yourself but if you fly under the radar, the teasing won't even begin. Your usual formula is:

You: dumbass comment that should probably be ignored
Somebody else: tease tease
You: failed witty comment
Somebody else: serious teasing
You: throw a fit

Thanks your basically talking **** right now.

Like any addictive behaviour you have to realise you have a problem before anything can be done. People don't take the piss because they dislike you, they do it either because you had a go at them, or the just think it's funny to see you have a spaz. **** dude, I tried to explain this to you two weeks ago and you still don't get it.

IT'S A MESSAGEBOARD! IF PEOPLE TALK **** ABOUT YOU WHY SHOULD YOU CARE WHAT THEY SAY??????

Take the stupid question thread: I corrected something you said, WHICH YOU WERE WRONG ABOUT, and you tried to pretend that it wasn't what you were talking about.

Me I would have said

"oops :o My bad, thanks for the tip."

and that would have been the end. You need to learn to let stuff go. If you could go a couple of weeks without having a spaz people would actually take what you say into account, rather than just dismissing it because "it's SMM an it's fun to watch him explode"

So this thread is now 4 pages long, an' only a handful of the posts are about the comics this week. Hmm.
