Yeah, I say have Cecelia as the doctor, Prodigy as the mission coordinator, Elixir as Cecelia's assistant, and Forge as the tech guy.

This would fit the backround cast perfectly.

They would still be around, but noone would be forced to have them on the active duty roster. Great stuff.

The problem I think is the idea that the X-Men are superheroes and that the entire cast has to be mission ready, that makes some writers reluctant to have a support staff. Granted, the Avengers had them for ages during the 80's-90's. Maybe more sci-fi shows just need to be viewed.

Plus, making sensible staff changes doesn't garner the same "nothing will ever be the same again!!" hype like stories that involve, oh, mutant-hunting bigots, Magneto as a terrorist and Sentinel attacks. Y'know, the very examples of originality we have never seen from the X-Men before. I bet next we'll have a space story. :whatever:

Dynamo 5 #13: I know this came out a few weeks ago, but I have to *****. This title is slowly getting worse and worse. Plus, when I got to the end, I was thinking it all went rather quickly. Sure enough, it's just 20 pages of story, and when I read the letter's page, I noticed someone saying that a previous issue also had only 20 pages. YET, they have upped the price to $3.50. I haven't been excited about this book for quite a while, and I'm seriously thinking about dropping it.

Oh, and The Dresden Files. LOVE IT! I finally read my first three issues.

didnt the X-men have a support team during the Jim Lee era???
I recall Forge and Banshee being the support

I finally got around to reading the last two issues of Astounding Wolf-Man, and never realized that comic was only 18 pages long each issue. I guess two more pages makes them pop up to 51 cents more. Guess I should be happy I get so little for my buck.

The kicker is that Dynamo 5 and Wolf-Man don't even have great art to warrant how late the books are at times.

Yeah, it is a little annoying paying $3.50 for 20 pages of story. The first issue was actually 24 pages and two issues were $2.99, but apparently sales fell off so it is back at the increased price. Still, I like it enough that I don't mind. It's a unique superhero book for me, and I like the characters.

Yes, I think they did. The 90's always had a gazillion X-Men in the various books. That was fine for a while but by the late 90's we sometimes had 14 characters in a book and some wouldn't even speak one line per issue.

I still like both books, although I had noticed WOLF-MAN was usually short.

Thought

Monster Pile-up - I already get all these books so I probably wasn't the target audience for this $1.99 book. It was interesting to see a young Proof.

Iron Fist - A lot of people were fearing the end of the Brubaker/Fraction era. The new team is off to a good start.

New Warriors - They are supposed to have secret IDs right? So how can Jono sit with them in public with his Apocalypse face and not give everyone away? Editors...do your job.

War Heroes - I'm just waiting for the eventual "power pill" overdose. It's a Millar book so it has to happen.

People just think Jono has a skin condition. Come on, would you ask someone who looked like that any questions, or would you just eat your sandwich and try to avoid eye contact?

Plus, 616 Marvel NY would be full of people donning make-up, clothing, or even body art detailing pop culture refs, which would include heroes and villains. RUNAWAYS literally had an issue in which the kids passed by someone with green skin and hair who they presumed was She-Hulk, but actually wasn't. People wear T-shirts of popular heroes like Cap or the Fantastic Four or even "edgy" ones like the X-Men (who are often considered outlaws or freaks) or Spider-Man (who often is considered either a menace or nuisance). So, seeing someone in NY who appears to have body art paying homage to Apocalypse in Marvel 616 may be about as routine as seeing someone with a mohawk in "the Village" in real life.

Kinda stretching it with the t-shirt thing. And we never saw any of that other stuff except for that one issue of Runaways.

With all their stolen and/or reversed engineered tech it would have been quite simple for them to have him use an image inducer. But that would have made too much sense, I guess.

True, although I still say seeing someone who looks a little freaky in NYC period is par for the course, much less Marvel's NYC that is full of superheroes, mutants, alien/demon/robot invasions, supervillains, etc.

I've seen freakier things than Chamber's Apocalypse lips on the subways coming back at 2 a.m. :p

Picked up New Avengers 43 and Old Man Logan part 2.

I'm enjoying all the SI tie-ins even more than the CW ones...but that's just me.

Old Man Logan is a good read, Clint being blind and driving perfectly was funny to me. But overall, it's a good read. I'll be sure to finish out this series to see the "reveal"
