spiderman1 beat star wars episode1, it said it in the wizard magazine.

And Titianic beat every movie ever at the box office.

Does that make it the best movie of all time??

No.

You really talk alot of nonsense.

By your logic, if one movie makes more than another, that makes that movie better. I tell you Titanic made more than any movie ever, and your response to that is that it doesn't count because the movie was set in the past??

Kids :whatever:

im saying that titanic is a diffrent kind of movie.

haha, I can't believe this article pitted Ocean's 13 against HP5.

Ocean's 11 was good; 12 was an obvious cash ploy, and this one is too, but it will be stomped by Potter. I've never really been into HP (I'm a Lotr/SW fan, and no that's not oxy-moronic:cmad:), but young and old alike seem to treat it like the newest successor to LoTR or SW.

Also, I'm hoping that Spidey generates enough in the first weekend to assure a 4th in the series, but if it doesn't, I'm still not worried. It has a solid two weeks of business before Shrek. Usually, I'd go w/ the family film as the major contender, but I'm pretty sure that Disney's 'At World's End' will screw over Shrek in the same manner that 'Dead Man's Chest' abused SR.

I still can't believe that Studios would pitt these films against each other.

Well the article is pretty subjective and speculative. At the end of the day no one knows who will be king of of the box office.Fans of Spidey, Shrek, Pirates and Potter all have a good arguments why their movies will be biggest next year.

Who could have predicted that Poseidon, Lady in The Water, Miami Vice, Nacho Lidbre, Superman and even to some extent Snakes on A Plane would not be major smash hits this year? Not me. And no one really foresaw the succes of movies like Devil Wears Prada, Talleda Nights and Step Up. So its pretty hard to guess what audience will fall for on a mass scale. All the studios have to do is make sure they make good movies, promote the hell out of it and hope word of mouth is good.

i know spiderman3 will be the best im sure of it.

As of now SM3 and POTC have some good spots...Shrek needs to move...even though it a huge film, its not smart to sandwich itself in between two huge blockbusters.
I think SM3's smartest move would to move the film to the end of April, that way it has more weeks.

i think spiderman3 should stay to may 4th.

I have a feeling that Pirates 3 is going to bump down to June 1st. There really isn't any reason not to. They shouldn't be afraid of Ocean's Thirteen, Fantastic Four 2, or Evan Almighty. However, they are taking a risk by staying where they are at currently.

And for those who were saying Transformers should have been in the article....

Do you guys really think the film is going to gross over 115 million? I don't think so...

Well lets look at something.... Shrek and Shrek 2 are two very good films that almost everyone loves. It's debatable on which one is better. Pirates 1 is a great film that America loved. Pirates 2 was a cash grab that was poorly written, directed, and acted but made a lot of money because female Americans wanted to see Johnny Depp get wet.

Shrek 2 has still grossed more money domestically with inflation than Pirates has.

Shrek>Pirates

Pirates will fizz out like the Matrix series. A good first. An okay-mediocre second. And a "who cares" third.

My A Year in Advance Predictions
Spider-Man 3: 410 million
Shrek 3: 380 million
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: 315 million
Pirates 3: 300 million

Ocean's Thirteen: 115 million
Transformers: 100 million
Simpsons: 160 million
Live Free or Die Hard: 95 million
Evan Almighty: 120 million
Bourne Ultimatum: 140 million
Rush Hour 3: 150 million
Fantastic Four 2: 110 million

spiderman3 will make the most money out of all them, 2007 will be a big year for movies, spiderman3 will own 2007.

Domestically, the fight will be between Spidey 3, POTC3 or Shrek 3. Either of them could be the domestic lead. In the worldwide market, HP5 should be a very strong playet.

but hp5 wont have as many visual effects as spiderman3 will have.

ITs not the Vfx that makes the money dude its the story. Just look at the Sixth Sense.

Let's not forget, Shrek 2 is the second highest grossing film in the US BO of all time.

It also arguably has the broadest appeal of SM3, P3, and S3 all together.

Also does anyone else think it's a mistake for Hollywood to release the third movie of 3 of the most popular franchises in the decade . . . ALL IN THE SAME ****ING MONTH!

I think that's a serious risk and overkill.

Yeah, I don't understand why they're taking that risk. But I'm thinking that it will affect Shrek 3 the most since its right in the middle of them. POTC3 really shouldn't be affected much at all since its opening on Memorial Day weekend and the next somewhat big movie that comes out after is Oceans 11 on June 8.

People will go to see Shrek 3. The anticipation for any form of a real ending for Pirates 2 isn't going to stop them.

that movie is a little kids movie, shrek 3 will not compare to how much money spiderman3 will gross.

Shrek 2 outgrossed Spider-man and Spider-man 2. Spider-man 2 and Shrek 2 were both released in the same year.

your a little kid

so you might like shrek... a "little kids movie"

listen... your spamming the thread boasting spider-man 3. It may be great, it may not be so great. A film is great based on the acting, directing, cinematography, editing, and story. titanic was an amazing film, due to its story and visual effects, as spiderman was. Brokeback mountain was an extrordinay film due to its directing, and acting, and no visual effects in that film at all. please... your 13, you dont understand film yet, your way too young, if you love spiderman so much, go finish playing with the action figures... thats what kids your age should be doing, unless your a mature 13 year old then go to some parties smoke i dont care just stop spamming with useless information
