^^ When we were kids, we tended to be very individualistic and divisive, I loved Marvel comics more than DC comics and often we would engage in conversations about who was a better hero, Spiderman or Superman. To us kids it was part of the fun.
It is not so cool to do that as adults but I think Carp should be cut some slack within the FF forum, cause obviously he loves FF more than the others and is still enjoying his youth.
There is a limit and a time and place to everything but sometimes it seems that some people can't move on from the past.
Ok I have heard that part of rehabilitation is forgiving and forgetting the past.
Whatever happened in the past should stay there. If punishment was meted out, ok, that is done.
i don't think anyone should have to deal with the stuff they have done being thrown in their faces over and over again. Sometimes that seems to be Carp's lot.
I had heard Carp's sig was taken from him for two years and I know it is probably just to scare him but I guess I was not there when he committed his latest sin. What did you do Carp, upset the mods again. You have to learn when not to tick the powers that be off Carp.
They have the Powah.
I understand what the mods are trying to do but like Malus Carp gets a pass from me, cause I have seen a lot worse.
Now What Carp did in the SR thread hahahah, was carp being a kid and his Marvel Fanboyism coming to the fore.
You know what this has been a part of the tapestry of the debate as to which universe is better. It did not start with Carp and will not end with Carp.
However presentation of ideas is key to not burning bridges sometimes.
The differences in the two universes were driven by the creators who themselves critiqued what had gone before.
Stan wanted to get away from the perfect square jawed heroes of the day and has said as much countless times and instinctively we know who he is talking about.
I guess Carp does not get much leeway sometimes but his posts are much more measured than when he first came on board, when was the last time Carp dismissed inflation.
Carp is who he is, sometimes it takes a while to understand the sensibilities of a group and Carp has made a visible effort to tone down his Carping
Lets just act as if this is a new beginning for all of us and let bygones be bygones.
I know that we are all waiting around hoping that we get FF3. If we don't most of us will drift on or maybe we will catch interest in other properties down the road.
I am an FF fan through and through and I generally will go to all the comic book movies DC and Marvel but only FF and Thor really could pull me into the forums.
It has been hard watching people come to the FF boards and pronounce the Franchise as dead. And Carp who I know has been bristling to respond to the Doom and Gloom has been muzzled.
I don't know but it gets a little one sided sometimes, and I have not been happy with the BO performance myself (a pox upon the house of Fox if they don't give us FF3) but Carps Fanboyism is at times reminiscent of when we were kids.
Cut him some slack sometimes, give him a pass if you can cause it is obvious that Carp is a fan of the FF, maybe not of batman or Superman but I don't think that anyone can deny he loves the FF.
Carp just does not take prisoners sometimes, but he is getting there (right Carp).
He has almost been like a new man this year, lol and even though his love of FF above all else will never be too far beneath the surface of everything he says he is a welcome contributor, at least by some of us. He reminds us of the times when we would engage in hours of fascination with the Worlds Greatest Comic Magazine.
Now who was so brazen as to dare call a comic book that.
Stan and Jack themselves.
To many they were and always will be the greatest comic book ever created.
That is why the performance of the movie franchise burns somewhat, cause it is clear that Fox and perhaps, God forbid Avi Arad never really truly understood the greatness of this comic book that led to the success and vibrancy of the House that Stan and Jack built, The House of Ideas.
Carp seems like a true believer of the hype that was those early days of all things Marvel. Let him breathe a little if you can.
And Carp cut the others who refuse to understand the greatness of the FF some slack, they just don't believe yet lol.
Face Front Peoples.
