Transformers Box Office Thread

Who would want to watch a poor ass bootleg version of Transformers. Transformers is made for High Definition. Definately going to buy it.

I doubt TR will reach 400 million. At first i put it around 250 million domestically, but now, I think around 300 mil is going to be the final tally domestically. 280-320 mil is where it'll finish.

LMAO Tyrome Simpson was arrested for trying to pirate Transformers, and they found an ounce of good on him rofl!

They make small ass cameras nowadays, and you're using something like that? At least be like Comic Book Guy and take your entire desktop complete w/ mouse into the theatre.

I ma stillnot sold on 300 milion....tuesday should drop atleast 15% from monday and the falls will just get worse unfortunatly.

I believe I had a mouse!

Too funny!

Tuesday's gross estimate is at $8,1200,000 which makes their total $173,455,000.

Even if you compare it to AWE's numbers who recently just broke the $300 million. After 2 week release it was at $232 million.

Even if you low ball the next 2 days of TF at $14 million for Wed and Thurs and estimate a 50% decrease of last weekend at $35 million, you get a total of $222 million after 14 days.

I think it more than has a shot.

May produced three (3), 300 million + movies, so why can't Transformers make $300 million?

Shrek 3 pulled in $53 million on it's 2nd weekend of release behind the opening of Pirates. People aren't going to automatically stop watching it because of Harry Potter.

Secondly, Potter doesn't do as well domestically as it does worldwide.

those arent lowballed. it is oging to drop roughly 20% on wednesday.

8.1.-20%=6.4
another 5% drop
6.4-5%=6

thats 12.4 instead of 14; look for a weekend drop of roughly 55-57%; or a weeke nd around 30.7 million ish. Its total would nbe around 215.

So you are arguing a difference of $7 million? So essentially by the end of Sunday you figure it's going to be around $215?

For a movie that came out on a Tuesday, it's Mon-Tues which is their 7-8th day of release rivals those of Spider-Man 3, Shrek 3, AWE in their 4-5th day of release. Movies that all went on to make $300 million each.
And most of the sites aren't predicting more than a 50% drop. Transformers is looking at this rate to hit $200 by the end of Friday and probably $250 by the end of next Friday.

The way the auidence responded to the movie at the end where I saw it (lots of clapping and cheering), I'd say TF will have great legs, better than SM3.

It will make 300m IMO.

one of my buddies said he never goes to see a movie more than once but he wants to see TF again. i'd say it has pretty good legs...

Oh, I'm definitely seeing this again. My sister was more hyped about seeing it again than I was, and she used to make fun of me for watching the cartoon!

On the CS mainpage , it's reported that Potter made 12 million from midnight screenings alone. By comparison , TF made 8 million from midnight screenings. If this is any indication Potter is going to open very big. WOnder how much it'll affect TF

I was impressed to see TF's Monday/Tuesday numbers. I went (again) Monday night, contributing the price of two tickets. I'll certainly be routing hard for it the rest of the summer! It more than deserves to join the $300 million club; it deserves to be the top movie of 07', IMAO.

I'm just sad it won't join the elite $400 million club. :( I think it's that special of a movie.

Well, the larger Potter's opening is could actually help TF since you'd have a higher % chance of a spillover rate

Potter is a monster...everyone knows that. Plus its the 5th movie in the franchise.

As mentioned before, TF is the first of what is sure to be a blockbuster franchise.

So having said that, 8 mil isn't bad when compared to 12 mil for an alreadly established series.
