""Wednesday: 42.5 million
Thursday: 21.25 million -50%
Friday: 26.5 million +25%
Saturday: 30.0 + 10%
Sunday:22.3 -25%

Opening weekend: 78.8
5 day: 142.5 million"

will be a closer than this:

WEDNESDAY ESTIMATE: 'Harry Potter 5' with a record-breaking Wednesday w/$39M-$42M; 5-day target of $128M and Fri-Sun of $76M!

And if it isn't, will you promise to never talk about box office estimates again?

Yes because it was midnight of the same day.

that was from july 3rd. Before any numbers were reported.

2/2 :o

Suck. On. That.

potter is doing 48-50 million on wednesday...160 5 day certainly looks good.

Off on the first prediction, flat out wrong on the second.

The Crowd Reports Are Incredible....im Upping My Wednesday Prediction To 25 Million.

Had to change because you were off.

Transformers is looking at 150 million or so opening week while potter is looking at 160 million +5 day.

Off and wrong.

Excel said:
And Potter will crush transformers.

Will be proven wrong.

Excel said:
come on ita; this will get 250 hopefully but 300 is pushing it.

Pessimistic. Most likely wrong.

200-225 milion in the states(unless it SUCKS)

Way wrong. For being the guru you claim you are, I just don't think you're very good at your trade. Sure, you've made some accurate predictions... but those all seem to come the day of when you're able to read early numbers and, to me, that isn't very impressive.

BTW - Despite the raving reviews for Potter, I'm willing to bet he'll suffer from the sequelitis drop off that has plagued other movies this summer. Part of it is because people have already been to the theatres ALOT this year, and part of it is because it's the FIFTH sequel in the Potter franchise - repeat viewings will almost certainly be down.

I think its more that the book comes on its second friday. Nearly every fan will be reading it instead of going to the movies.

Yes, that too. Potter will die off to be the fifth highest movie domestically, Pirates will be fourth, and Transformers will be sandwiched between Pirates and Shrek for third.

I've only been saying this since mid June....sheeesh.

Well right now $10-$15 million only seperate Shrek 3 and AWE. Depending on this weekend's box office, TF could very well take the 2nd position.

Although it's best to compare TF on a Sunday-Monday because of it's Tuesday release date to accurately compare the movies.

Why argue with him? Predictions are predictions, educated or not.

But on the opposite end, if ya guess something right then like...........whatta ya get? You gots a prize or a cookie? Who cares.

I like cookies. :o

If everyone got cookies in life for when they guessed something....well then we would all be fatty mcfatties with butts that look like cottage cheese filled pillow cases.

Alas, there are not enough cookies in zee world.

$$$$ from studios who want you to approve their marketing tactics ;)

The overseas stands at 114 millions and it goes up for every day this week Mon 5,Tue 5.2 wed 7 millions and it's out in only 27-30 countries...

and BTW it had the biggest opening day in China this year and the second best for a hollywood movie ever...
