Transformers is dropping a lot slower now. No big releases this week either. I think it has enough legs to join the 300 million club. It should finish by 265-275 million by the end of Sunday. Man am I the only one that feels like Transformers could finish better than Spiderman 3?

which is astonishing considering how many people were doubting how the movie would turn and + it didnt have the hype from 2 super acclaimed and succesfull movies....just imagine what TF 2 would do with the right advertising and marketing(if it's a good movie ofcourse)

LOL, good calls. I think he meant more along the lines of the majority of films though. Those are some good exceptions though. I like the Die Hard series as well as the Lethal Weapon series for example, but those sequels were made just for the sake of money and the reasoning of why not. They didn't have any great reason to continue the stories. Doesn't mean the ones you mentioned weren't for money but they had better reason in my opinion to continue on. Don't even get started on the slasher flicks that had like 8-10 sequels each. Same damn thing is happening again with hearing how they have a damn Saw 4 & 5 planned.

Well there was the sequel curse like what they mentioned in Scream 2 about the sequel being not as good as the original. Also, definitely not making as much.

But now you frequently have more sequels that are on par if not better than the originals arguably (i.e. Spider-Man 2), and it's quite easier for them to make more money while still being considered less than the original (i.e. DMC).
