Transformers Box Office Thread

Early Saturday estimates shows Transformers making $1.3 million this weekend. If it stays at IMAX for 3-4 weeks, it should do between $3 - $4.5 million more. $3 million is the magic mark as that'll put TF past $315 million domestic and move it into the top 20 domestic grossing films of all time (not counting inflation).

One of the Smithsonian's 3 IMAX theaters has it on their schedule until the end of October, so that would be, what, 8 weeks or so? (They don't list it for their November schedule though).

It's past 315mil, already in the top 20:

looks like we might get to 317mil by next week.

Till now Transformers has sold 48,129,000 tickets in the USA and is on the 95 place of all time adjusted...and it needs only 886,000 to beat the only Harry Potter movie that is infront of it...simply a spectacular run at the box office which i will say it now,if TF was released in 2001-2002 it could have made as much as the first Spider-man made.

Spider-man was in 1500 theaters 2 months in it's release,TF was in 1500 only 1 month after it's release due to a lot more competition in 2007...

+ TF is almost in the second place this year in the most crowded summer ever with sequels from the biggest franchises ever(except SW)..one can only wonder how much would have TF made if it was a less crowded summer like in 2005 and 2006.

Oh i agree completelly....the DVD sales showed how well TF was received...it sold as much DVD's as Pirates 1...and we all know how much Pirates 2 made...

850-900 is pretty much a safe bet especially if it's better then TF 1.
