I'd be cool with Rock as Lobo,I think he has improved as an actor/him back in more action films is great for him/has the face&body physique to look the part and already has the fighting experience from wrestling&other films to kick a** as Lobo!!

I can kind of see The Rock as Lobo. I'm not sure he has the range to play Lobo as he's generally depicted without some kind of voice alteration or something along those lines, but I would expect they'd go that route. He'd be fine for the action stuff.

As much as I love Dwayne, I want JDM for Lobo. It feels like a waste casting Dwayne in the role, he can do someone else that's much more suited to his unique characteristics.

This could be good for the character of Lobo. MAke him more known to the general audience. And Rock has all the traits to play Lobo. His acting is solid, he is big and has played a wrestling character who was good at running his mouth. Perfect fit for Lobo all the way.

Rock will be a decent Lobo, IMO. I'll definitely give him the benefit of the doubt. I mean I pictured him with the hair and white make-up... He would be a convincing Lobo. I hope they keep the ripped off sleeve jacket on one arm and black jeans/boots. It'd look boss on The Rock.

Kevin Durand was still my preferred choice... The Rock might just work though.

I wouldn't hate The Rock. In fact I think it could be a great role. The first time he cocks that eyebrow in makeup will be cool.

And I can smell what Lobo is cooking....!

i honestly think the Rock is an excellent choice to play Lobo. he's got the physique & the personality down. if done right, this movie can be very entertaining.

I looked up some older clips of The Rock from his WWE days... I can see him working for Lobo quite well.

I actually saw a few clips of him cocking his eyebrow... I totally agree, it'll look awesome if he does it with the make-up on as Lobo. A facial expression like this I can see The Rock doing easily haha:

Definitely not terrible casting. I've been waiting for Dwayne to become a superhero for a long time, and even though he's technically not playing a hero, it's still a bad-ass comic book character. His experience with Brad will definitely work in their favour too.

Still, JDM would have been perfect.

Anyone seen the god-awful Nu52 Lobo? It doesn't help with Rob Liefail on art... He looks completely like with Wolverine with white skin...

Thinking that the Rock as the Main Man could work. Yeah, the more I think of it - if they get the look right I dont see why he hasnt got it in him to give us a good Lobo.

About the look, I'd definately prefer a Bisley/Last Czarnian look over any other but [not that I'm defending the guy or anything because I hate his work] Liefield's Lobo in that above pic isnt too dissimiliar to Kevin Maguire's cool ass Lobo, which was before the Biz even got his hands on him and crafted such an iconic look; at least it's better than his Omega Men look.

Last Czarnian look is definitely the preferred version of Lobo, IMO. He just looked like a true boss, and I think The Rock could pull it off well. Omega Men look was so bad.

Gotta say... I wasn't so sure about The Rock playing him... I've really warmed up to the idea though, especially after watching some of his clips from WWE, he is a smartmouth like Lobo. He will be able to nail the facial expressions, and has the physique of Lobo.

Re-watched the Lobo episodes of Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League. He can be done properly in a PG environment. More so with PG-13 if that's what they (and most likely will) decide.

I wonder if we will get any more news on this film... I'm actually hoping WB moves forward with this. As much as I want to see Flash & Wonder Woman... This movie can be probably done a lot cheaper.

I just wanna see Johnson in the white make up already.

I'll agree about Rick Baker, especially after looking at some of the movies he's done.

With the announcement of the new DC game "Injustice: Gods Among Us" I'm really hoping they stick Lobo in it. He's a perfect character for a DC fighting game.

At least as DLC. Good way to get him in the media, especially if they move forward with the movie.

Yeah, Baker is pretty much the pinnacle in the industry so to see Dwayne Johnson in Rick Baker facial Lobo make-up/prosthetics would just be a match made in heaven.

I agree. I mean he looks a lot like Black Adam... But that's about it. Lobo is a great character for The Rock to bring on the big screen.

Don't count on it.

I'm pretty sure WB/DC said they weren't going to do anymore R-Rated comic book films after Watchmen, could be wrong, but I remember a lot of people saying that at one point.

I guess there's an arguement for saying that Lobo doesnt need to be R-rated as much as there is one to say that the movie must be.

All I know is that there have been lots of Lobo stories over the years that wouldnt get an R Rating so if the movie didnt get one [while it wouldve been cool and all] it's no big disaster. I dunno, I havent read Lobo in quite some time, just snippets - is he still as outrageously violent as he was during the Giffen/Bisley years (?) because that was just outrageous satire at it's core and there's no real need for him to be like that in a movie; even if it would be fun.

As long as he's an absolute bad-ass, kicking ass and taking names [and there's no reason to think as lesser certificate couldnt give us that - hell, you can get away with killing alien being in all sorts of ways easier than you would a human] then I dont have a problem.
