Brad Pitt Climbs Tree of Life

If it is that long then that's wonderful. I'm eager to hear the tracks Desplat composed for the film too.

The Tree of Life to Premiere at Cannes Film Festival in May

A full year after it was initially floated as a hot fest prospect, Terrence Malick's "The Tree of Life" is set to make its world premiere in May at the Cannes Film Festival.

It's still unclear whether the Fox Searchlight drama starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn will play in or out of competition, a decision that likely will not be made until closer to April 14, when fest topper Thierry Fremaux announces the full official selection lineup.

After Tintin this is my most anticipated movie of this year.

Note the DINOSAUR!!! Two boxes down from the title! THIS IS THE GREATEST DAY IN A WHILE.

I don't know what to make of that. I sure don't.

It'll be a beautiful film visually, but I hope this actually has a strong narrative as well, unlike A New World.

No.

And while we're at it, I quite liked In Aggression, but I'd never tell you at Dan's. Although I do prefer Kevin Bacon in Death Sentence.

LOL, to each their own. But thanks.

Trapped, Hollow Man, and Death Sentence are all tasty Bacon. And really, I'm surprised. I loved Death Sentence, outside of that annoying, stupid, poorly acted cop.

ANYWAY TREE OF LIFE, GREAT LOOKING FILM.

I thought much of the film was poorly acted.

And he is pretty tasty in Hollow Man. I barely even remember Trapped. Totally forgot about it until you brought it up.

Yes. TREE OF LIFE!

Well this has definitely grabbed my attention. Got kind of an existential feel from the trailer, kind of a "tragic beauty" of life kinda vibe

Why are people suddenly discussing Kevin Bacon movies?

So I've heard there is a separate version of this movie for IMAX, are the prehistoric scenes only in the IMAX version? if so I'd probably still go see it. This movie has my interest piqued hardcore, and that was before I heard any mention of dinosaurs. This has quickly become my most anticpated movie for the year.

Before The Tree of Life was a two-part saga with the documentary Voyage of Time accompanying the film.
The documentary was thought to include all the universe footage including the dinosaurs but now they change and made it into a single film.

I may be wrong but that's my impression after reading around.

So this is like a combination of a documentary and traditional film?

I guess it could be a combination of both though I'm not really sure. I mean we haven't heard anything about the documentary lately so I assume they combine it together.

A website called Little White Lies had an interview with visual effects supervisor Dan Glass, where he talk more about the film but the interview was removed soon after.

Check this out! Fox Searchlight had just launched an interactive site.

There is a wheel with two sides, one “The Father’s way” and one “The Mother’s way”. Each side has 10 very brief clips that you can watch.

thanks for the link, I don't have time to fully explore it. This film has me totally baffled and yet somehow more excited than anyother this year. I cant wait.
