Bravely Second Gets A Demo On December 10th In Japan

By Ishaan . December 1, 2014 . 8:28pm Bravely Second will receive a free downloadable demo via the Nintendo eShop in Japan on December 10th.

Bravely Second, Square Enix’s next Nintendo 3DS RPG, will receive a free downloadable demo via the Nintendo eShop in Japan on December 10th, the publisher has announced.

Just what the demo will contain hasn’t been announced yet, but we’ll report details once they’re available.

Bravely Second takes place after Bravely Default. Agnes, one of the four protagonists from the first game, is now pope of the Crystal Orthodoxy. Agnes ends up being kidnapped by a man named Oblivion, and one of the goals of the game is to rescue her.

You’ll be taking control of a new party to rescue Agnes. Bravely Second’s lead character is Magnolia Arch, a “Baal Buster” that cooperates with the knights of the Crystal Orthodoxy to bring Agnes back.

Bravely Second is scheduled for release sometime this Winter in Japan.

Bravely Second Has Its Own Version Of The Norende Village Mini-Game. December 4, 2014 . 2:45am

In Bravely Default, we helped rebuild Tiz’s hometown of Norende after it got destroyed by the Great Chasm. In Bravely Second, we’ll have a similar town-building mini-game, but this time it’ll be the new character Magnolia’s hometown on the moon.

In Bravely Default, we helped rebuild Tiz’s hometown of Norende after it got destroyed by the Great Chasm. In Bravely Second, we’ll have a similar town-building mini-game, but this time it’ll be the new character Magnolia’s hometown on the moon. This week’s issue of Famitsu provides more information.

Similar to the mini-game in Bravely Default, you’ll help the growth of Magnolia’s hometown, which is located on the moon. As you can see in the above images, the town is full of craters, but here are actually people living in there.

It has the familiar system of the previous game, where you’ll get more people through StreetPass, in order to help with buildings. What takes one person an hour to build will complete in 30 minutes with two people, and so on.

Once you add more buildings, you can acquire powerful items, equipment, and even parts to learn special attacks. There will also be the boss fights where you’ll get to take on challenging foes as well.

You might also remember Ringabel’s “D’s Journal” in Bravely Default, which came in quite handy with various lists of information and encyclopedias.

The journal will be back in Bravely Second, except it’s called “U’s Journal,” and it can be seen held by one of the main characters, Yu Zenolsia. It will contain various information such as the monster bestiary with information on over 320 monsters, item encyclopedia, records, and abilities.

Here’s a new feature to Bravely Second, called the “Consecutive Chance”. This happens when you defeat all enemies in one turn, you’ll get another chance to fight for an added x1.5 times the reward.

The more you activate the Consecutive Chance one after the other, the more rewards you’ll get; however, your BP will remain the same, so you might want to be careful when taking on tough enemies.

And finally, Bravely Second also adds a neat little feature called “My Set,” which allows you to create a list of your characters and have it save what jobs they’re using, along with their commands, abilities, and equipment. Making it much easier to have various setups with all the jobs out there.

Bravely Second is slated for release sometime this winter in Japan for Nintendo 3DS.

Bravely Second’s two new antagonists detailed
Published 1 min ago. 0 comments.

Chain Chances and various other new systems detailed, too.
Bravely-Second_12-04-14_Top.jpg

Coming off of last week’s V Jump article on Bravely Second, Square Enix has put out a new press release elaborating on the backgrounds of the recently revealed Emperor Oblivion and Anne, as well as a handful of new gameplay systems. Check out our translation below.
New Characters
bs_at1-600x431.jpg

Emperor Oblivion
Emperor Oblivion is a masked man who appears without warning at the treating signing in Guatelatio’s cathedral between the Crystal Orthodoxy and the Duchy of Eternia, managing to brush off even the Three Muskateers and kidnap Agnes in the process. He has a large number of Asterisk Holders under his command, most notably the black winged fairy Anne, and sits aboard a mysterious floating castle as he uses his military might to drag the entire world into war. What his cold gaze sees under that mask, let alone what he’s actually planning, is anybody’s guess.
bs_at2-600x411.jpg

Anne
Anne is a black-clad fairy who loyally works under Emperor Oblivion in a secretarial-esque capacity. Though she predominantly goes about her work in a cold, distant manner, offering advice and providing battle updates and analyses, she does on occasion display a cruel side, bringing great fear to even those ostensibly on the same side as her.
New Location
bs_at3-600x360.jpg

Glanz
Glanz is an imperial power that’s been brought up by Emperor Oblivion’s own hands. In tandem with Oblivion’s own individual antics, the empire itself brings considerable military power to bear by way of its Asterisk Holders when it and its emperor’s floating castle suddenly appear in the sky on the day of the treaty signing. So mighty are Glanz’s forces that they dispose of the Orthodoxy’s Knights and the Duchy of Eternia’s main forces in short order as they drag the world into chaos.
New System
Chain Chances
Chain Chances are a new system whereby if you manage to defeat the enemy in one turn, you can opt to keep fighting and if you win again, your rewards can be greater and you can even chain Chain Chances together to amplify your earnings that much more. However, should you make the jump, your BP remains as it was at the time of your last victory, meaning you can’t get reckless in the presence of strong foes. As such, there’s no shame in fleeing if it gets to be too much!
Yuu’s Memos
While Yuu no longer vies to be a scholar as he once used to, he still jots down information in his notebook on the monsters and items he comes across. It also comes with an event viewer for reviewing in-game happenings, as well as a help menu.
Monster Manual
As you routinely defeat the same monsters, you’ll find comments jotted down by not only Yuu himself, but also his friends tagging along with him, with over 320 monsters in all to take down in this game. You can therefore expect the cast of the game to have much to talk about just in terms of the beasts they’ll fight alone!
Reconstructing Magnolia’s Old Lunar Home
Like the original Bravely Default, Bravely Second once again features a town rebuilding mode that players can indulge in, only this time it features not only Norende, but also Magnolia’s former stomping grounds on the moon! As with before, constructing buildings isn’t your only task here; you also have to StreetPass other people in order to regain residents, with one StreetPass bringing in one new resident and the more people you have on board, the more quickly work gets done! It’s a good idea to work on reconstruction when you can find the time to do so, as not only will the structures you erect prove to be useful in your adventures, but you’ll also get items that are sure to be helpful in your journey, too! Plus, if you work on rebuilding Magnolia’s homeland specifically, you can possibly even find ways to strengthen up weapons to take on strong enemies that you can encounter online!
The My Set System
In Bravely Second, you’re able to save party member configurations for jobs, commands, abilities, and equipment, saving a lot of time that can be better spent just focusing on proper adventuring! There are several save slots, too, so feel free to save multiple configurations that you can bring back up within seconds
Bravely Second is set to launch sometime this winter in Japan, with a demo coming out next week. Catch the latest load of new screenshots and artwork at the gallery here.

A Familiar Voice Is Heard In Bravely Second’s Latest Trailer. December 11, 2014 . 3:54am

During Square Enix’s third major Bravely Second livestream, the publisher showed off a new trailer for the game.
[YT]eaZ-igfa-Rg[/YT]
During Square Enix’s third major Bravely Second livestream, they shared a look at the new Cat Master job, along with a new trailer shown in the above video that shows us a little more from the upcoming game.

The video starts out with a look at the new characters, the Three Musketeers of the Crystal Orthodoxy, in Falcon of the Gale Yu Zeonelcia, Wolf of the Inferno Jean Engarde, and Bison of Solidity, Nikolai Nikolanikov. Along with a little more from Magnolia Arche.

Next, Agnes appears and says that she has a feeling that something is about to begin. After showing some more combat action from the main characters, and a look at the new villain known as the Emperor Oblivion.

At the end, Agnes says “There’s not one thing that’s considered useless to this world. Put your mind into it, as there’s surely a way, by your very own hands.” It’s not exactly clear as to who she’s saying this to, but she seems to be hopeful while in captivity.e

And at the very end, you can hear the familiar voice of Tiz saying “I’m back, Agnes.” When asked whether Tiz, Edea, and Ringabel will appear in Bravely Second, producer Tomoya Asano said that the worst thing he could do is ruin any surprises or experiences, so he’d rather have players find out for themselves.

Bravely Second will release in Japan on April 23, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.

Here’s A Summary Of What’s In Bravely Second’s First Demo. December 18, 2014 . 12:31pm

Dengeki shares some details they put together after taking the Bravely Second demo for a spin.

7

Square Enix recently released Bravely Second’s first demo which lets you play a little bit of the game’s early part, featuring the game’s main characters and some of the new jobs. Dengeki shares some details they put together after taking the demo for a spin.

Starting with a close look at the magical academy city, Istantar, where you’ll begin your journey of Bravely Second.

And a look at some of the city’s nearby fields, where you’ll find an oasis, and cave and forest-type dungeons. Dengeki reports that characters from Bravely Default were also in the demo, but they’re leaving most of those out of their impressions as a surprise to those who’ve yet to play.

Some of you guys might remember Fiore de Rosa, the man who picked up women back in Florem with the help of a certain not-so-nice technique.

The above is a look at the new Tomahawk job that was introduced during Tokyo Game Show a few months ago. The Asterisk holder also speaks in an unexpected dialect.

Up next

Dengeki says that the story in the demo advances as you clear quests, and upon meeting certain conditions, you’ll acquire a special play bonus that will give you items for the full version of the game.

There’s even an NPC in Istantar who gives you an update of your play bonuses.

Next, we get a look at some of the jobs.

Freelancer:

Freelancers are pretty similar to what they were in Bravely Default, but they now get a new ability called “Halfs” that lets you use recovery items on your entire party but only at 50% of its normal rate.

Valkyrie:

The Valkyrie are still are strong as ever, thanks to its powerful abilities like Crescent Moon, that lets them attack multiple enemies at a time.

Done
And finally, here’s a look at Magnolia sporting her Red Mage dress. Red Mages have best of both worlds with their white and black magic, and the demo lets you learn up to level 2 magic from both, with a total of eight spells.

The “Bravely Second” feature that stops gameplay, allowing you to perform additional attacks in combat, can now be done by simply pressing the start button in combat.

Here’s another look at Bravely Second’s new feature called the “Consecutive Chance”. This can activate whenever you take out all the enemies in a single turn, and you’ll get a chance to fight new monsters to get x1.5 the reward.

A third time makes it x1.8, and a fourth time makes it x2, a fifth makes it x2.2, and so on. However, the catch is managing your BP and knowing how long you’ll be able to last.

As previously reported, Bravely Second will also have a similar feature to Bravely Default’s Norende village, where you got people from StreetPass to help rebuild it. This time around, it’s a town on the moon, and it’s actually Magnolia’s hometown.

Bravely Second will release in Japan on April 23, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.

Bravely Second unveils Cat User job class
Published 1 day ago. 18 comments.
Take control of cats and become the ultimate cat master.
Square Enix revealed a new character and job classes for Bravely Second at Jump Festa in Chiba today.

Minette Goroneze (voiced by Misaki Kuno) is an Asterisk Holder and “Cat User” job class, which specializes in brass knuckles and axes. These are some of the class’ known abilities:

  • Cat High Arts: Takes two items to summon a pair of cats to pull off powerful moves. At Jump Festa, it was shown in a demo as used to raise everybody’s BP by one, but has been deemed too powerful by the development team and will be re-balanced accordingly. What cats appear depend on items used. When “Death Spiral,” a move that hits several times, was used, the two cats were gray and brown, and a doodle of a cat appeared above the character that summoned them (apparently drawn by designer using their non-writing hand). Items used to summon cats are acquired through moon reconstruction.
  • Cat Arts: Following moves confirmed: “Consume,” “Slugger,” “White Window,” and “Book Burning.” These only take one item to summon a cat to do.
  • Nenneko: Makes all enemies fall asleep.
  • Lie Down: Raises physical and magic defense.
  • Dig: Not clarified.

Also revealed was the “Astrologist” class, which can be seen on the right side of the second picture at the top of the article. Virtually nothing is known about the class, save for the fact that its representative Asterisk Holder is a mysterious “elderly fortune teller” (and reminds us of Zeus).
Bravely Second is due out for 3DS in Japan on April 23.

Bravely Second’s New Cat Master Job Is Full Of All Kinds Of Tricks. December 23, 2014 . 12:00pm

Bravely Second’s newest job, the Cat Master, is one of the more unique ones, and it got a demonstration during Jump Festa.

Bravely Second adds more jobs to the series in addition to jobs that were available in Bravely Default. The newest job, the Cat Master, is one of the more unique ones, and it got a demonstration during Square Enix’s Bravely Second stage during Jump Festa 2015.
[YT]8uWxMi3akfw[/YT]

At the 41:20 mark of the video, we get a closer look at the new Cat Master job, with an illustration by Atsushi Okubo, known for his work in Soul Eater and also did some work in Bravely Default.

The two characters shown in the image are the Cat Master Asterisk holder Minette Goroneze, and a mysterious old man who is the Asterisk holder for the Astrologian job.

We then get a look at some footage that shows Minette introducing herself as a Cat Master, and explains that her job involves taking care of cats and assassinations.

She then goes on about how cats are great because they’ll never betray you, and she looks pretty sad when she says that they’re also good because you can live by yourself with them. She then sends her “Black Cat #1” off to go attack the party.

Next, at 43:30, they show some of the Cat Master in action with a demonstration of how they’re used in combat. The Cat Master’s main command is called “Put to Work” or “Order,” and it has all kinds of kitty-based commands that have various effects, such as putting all enemies to sleep, or increasing physical and magic defense.

They also have an ability called “Cat Attack” that lets you use various items to call out cats to do different moves, as demonstrated at the 44:40 mark. Cats will vary in color depending on the items you use as well. You can acquire these cat food items from monster drops, and other ways.

There’s an even stronger version of this called “Cat Special Attack” that requires you to use two items, and it can call out more cats for even more powerful abilities. The development staff felt that this was a bit too powerful, so they’re currently making adjustments on it.

As a humorous bit of info, development staff originally told the designer to draw the cat image as poorly as possible, to give it more of a playful look; however, he kept making it look too good, so they made him draw a cat’s face using his left hand, which is what you see in the above image.

Bravely Second will release in Japan on April 23, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.

Bravely Second’s Pre-order Bonuses Provide Powerful Weapons And Abilities. December 24, 2014 . 5:00pm

Square Enix have announced pre-order bonuses for Bravely Second at various Japanese retailers.

Square Enix showed off more of Bravely Second’s new Cat Master job during Jump Festa 2015, and they also shared a look at what players can get from pre-ordering the game at different shops. Here’s a look at what they include.

The sword on the top-left, called the Trinity Sword, can only be acquired by pre-ordering Bravely Second at the Square Enix e-store. It has a new ability called Divine Night that lets you absorb the damage you’d normally take, during a Default.

Next is the Ogre’s Swing katana that you can get by pre-ordering from amazon.co.jp, and this one has the Shell Split ability, which was used by Pirates in Bravely Default and was quite useful as it was able to lower the target’s physical defense up to 75%.

The Dragonbreath bow can be acquired by pre-ordering the game at GEO Hyper Media Shop. This weapon is said to be another powerful one, with a new ability called Physical Up, which is used to increase a target’s physical attack.

Finally, the Holy Spear Garuda, which is acquired through pre-ordering at Game Tsutaya, has the Haste magic, which was a level 2 Time Magic in Bravely Default that increased speed by up to 150%.

Bravely Second will release in Japan on April 23, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.

Bravely Second’s New Exorcist Job Can Turn Back Time. January 9, 2015 . 5:04am

Square Enix reveal the newest job in Bravely Second: the Exorcist, which can go back several turns when things get sour.

During a special Bravely Second stream hosted by Dengeki, Square Enix revealed the newest job in the game: the Exorcist, which can go back several turns when things get sour.

In the demonstration, they showed the four party members playing as the Exorcist job, which has the ability to turn back time with an ability called “Never Happened”. When you use the ability, it can go back up to three turns. For example, they showed Nikolai taking some damage, and Magnolia used the “Never Happened HP” and it reverted his health back to what it was before he took damage.

This ability can also work when players get incapacitated, so it’s considered more of a healing class. Since you can use it on other characters, it’ll come in handy, as they’ll be able to charge up with Defaults while always keeping their health the way it was.

The cost for Never Happened is relatively low, so you won’t have to worry about saving it for only crucial moments. The job will have various other uses for its abilities, which will be revealed in the near future.

During the stream, Square also shared a look at what appeared to be the Asterisk Holder for the Exorcist job. He’s a pretty creepy character, and was shown taking a slash attack, only to have it recover, as if it never even happened.

The above is an illustration by yokoyan, who has worked on several occasions with Bravely Default composer revo on cover art, and more.

Square Enix also revealed that Bravely Second will have about 30 jobs total. The game will release in Japan on April 23, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS

Mrgrgr. Edea Is Back In Bravely Second. January 9, 2015 . 5:47am

Producer Tomoya Asano didn’t say when and how, but confirmed that she’ll be back.

Square Enix shared the latest on Bravely Second during a special livestream by Dengeki earlier this morning. After talking about the latest information and revealing the new Exorcist job, they shared a little surprise at the very end of the broadcast.

Fans have all wondered whether we’ll see other characters from Bravely Default in the sequel, and we now know that Edea will be back in Bravely Second. Producer Tomoya Asano didn’t say when and how, but confirmed that she’ll be back.

To get you up to speed on one of Bravely Default’s fan-favorite characters, Edea Lee is a character that joins Agnes Oblige and her party after opposing the ruthless acts of her father, the Grand Marshal, and the Eternian Forces. While she often displays her hot-headed personality, she’s passionate and harbors a strong sense of justice. She’s also well-known for expressing her frustrations with “mrgrgr”.

So far, we know that Agnes gets kidnapped, during the peace signing ceremony between the Crystal Orthodoxy and the Eternia Dukedom, by an unknown masked man, who goes by “Emperor Oblivion”. Tiz was also heard at the end of a recent trailer as well.

Now that Edea’s return has been confirmed, that just leaves Ringabel up in the air, as far as the appearances of the four main characters from Bravely Default goes.

Bravely Second will release in Japan on April 23, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.

Lastly

Bravely Second Producer Jokes About Localization. January 9, 2015 . 5:52am

During a livestream of Bravely Second, producer Tomoya Ayano also joked about the game’s localization and how it’s going to be hard on the translators.

Square Enix shared the latest information on Bravely Second in a special livestream courtesy Dengeki, where we got a first look at the new Exorcist class. During the stream, producer Tomoya Ayano also joked about the game’s localization in passing.

Square Enix recently revealed Asterisk holder of the Tomahawk job, Aimy Matchlock, who speaks with a distinct Hiroshima accent, which is amusing since she has a Native American appearance. It isn’t something you’d expect when playing the Japanese version of the game.

While talking about her dialect, the developers asked themselves how the localization will be handled in this regard, since you can’t really replicate the Hiroshima accent in English. Asano then joked that they’re doing everything they can to give the localization translators as hard of a time as possible.

While on the subject of languages, Asano also mentioned that Magnolia Arch speaks “fluent” English, which was shown in the teaser movie for Bravely Second at the end of Bravely Default: For the Sequel, an upgraded version of the game which was Bravely Default outside of Japan.

If you’re wondering why she speaks fluent English, it turns out everyone on the moon does. According to Asano, English is the spoken language on the moon, and it’s the place Magnolia is from.

Of course, while Asano’s comments don’t outright confirm an English localization for Bravely Second, the chances are looking pretty good, especially considering how well the first game sold. It’s worth pointing out that Square Enix also went to the effort of localizing the teaser movie for the game at the end of Bravely Default: For the Sequel.

Bravely Second will release in Japan on April 23, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.

In Bravely Default, after coming to harbor doubts about the methods of her unit, Edea fled the Eternian army and joined up with Agnes as she toured the world. Having helped save Luxendarc from impending doom and returned to Eternian’s armed forces, going so far as becoming captain of the newly formed Guard Knights, she helps out her father Braev as she works on rebuilding her country. Alongside Agnes, the new pope of the Crystal Orthodoxy, she was making progress in achieving peace between the Duchy and the Orthodoxy, but upon hearing of Agnes’ kidnapping, she heads off on her own to the various towns of Eternia in the hopes of learning more about the situation at hand.
The Barter Sub-Scenario

Bravely Second Will Have You Decide Between Jobs And Story. February 4, 2015 . 9:31am

In each scenario, Edea will talk to two Asterisk Holders and listen to their dispute. Depending on which one you side with, you’ll get access to one’s Job and one’s story.

Square Enix recently revealed a new “Barter Sub-Scenario” system for Bravely Second, where you’ll need to choose sides between two Asterisk Holders. In a recent live stream by Dengeki, producer Tomoya Asano further explained how it works.
[YT]66UOjqBc7k4[/YT]

At the 40:00 mark of the video, Asano and co. share more on the Barter Sub-Scenario. In the Barter Sub-Scenario, Edea takes on the lead role, where you’ll encounter Asterisk Holders from Bravely Default.

In each scenario, Edea will talk to two Asterisk Holders and listen to their dispute. She’ll then be required to choose one to side with; however, there’s a catch. You’ll need to fight against the Asterisk Holder you don’t side with, and you’ll get their Asterisk, or job.

The one you do choose to side with, you’ll get to see more from their story, and you won’t fight them, but you also won’t get their job. While Asano doesn’t specify whether we can get their jobs later on in the game, he says that this is a form of “ultimate decision making” that players will have to undertake

According to the producer, the Barter Sub-Scenario will bring back many Asterisk Holders, and Edea’s Japanese voice actress Mai Aizawa also says that these are the parts where she has a good amount of voiceover work featured in the game. We get to see an example of this at the 45:08 mark, where the Thief Asterisk Holder Jackal is shown asking Edea to help him, the man that has been helping out the thirsty. The Red Mage Asterisk Holder Fiore DeRosa then asks Edea to defeat Jackal, for the sake of the future and mankind.

While it doesn’t show why exactly the two have been arguing, they say that there’s actually quite a lot of story development behind these Barter Sub-Scenarios, and there isn’t a right or wrong answer for who you should side with, so you’ll have to decide which job and story you’d like to have.

Finally, during a Q&A session, one fan asked whether there will be something for those who start Bravely Second with a save data from Bravely Default. While Asano didn’t specify what, he says that there will be something nice, and that Square Enix will announce just what it is in the near future.

Bravely Second will release in Japan on April 23, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.

Bravely Second Confirms Edea As Playable, Shares More On The Patissier Job. February 4, 2015 . 2:00pm

In the latest live stream, Square confirmed her as a playable character, along with more details on the Patissier job.

We previously saw what Edea from Bravely Default has been up to in the upcoming sequel, Bravely Second, but it still wasn’t clear whether she’ll be a playable character or not. In the latest live stream by Square Enix and Dengeki, Square confirmed her as a playable character, along with more details on the Patissier job.
[YT]66UOjqBc7k4[/YT]

The latest Bravely Second footage can be seen at the 1:03:00 mark, where they show the new Patissier job’s Asterisk Holder in Angelo W. Panettone. He actually sounds more hostile than he looks, and has a follower of crazed girls that say his sweets are “to die for” when asked about them.

At the 1:06:00 mark, Square Enix show what the Patissier job looks like in action. As you can see, it shows Edea in the party, confirming that she will be a playable character, and not just part of the game’s story.

As for the Patissier’s abilities, they revolve around making snacks, such as the “patisserie” ability that lets you use ingredients you have to make cakes. There are numerous cakes you can make, such as Poison Cake, Blind Cake, and even things like the Fire Cake, which can hit enemy weaknesses.

Additionally, the Patissier also has other useful abilities, such as ones that help you pick up items, and another one that lets you choose a party member to get attacked more frequently, which sounds like it will complement your tank or a character with some decent countering abilities.

Overall, the Patissier is geared more towards players that like technical jobs, as it has plenty of buffs, debuffs, and various other abilities. It has the abilities to work with all kinds of different party set-ups, making it one of the more versatile jobs in the game.

Bravely Second is slated for release in Japan on April 23, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.

Bravely Second Reveals Its Full Japanese Title, And Some Bonus Costumes. February 9, 2015 . 2:25am

Bravely Second’s full Japanese title is Bravely Second: End Layer.

Bravely Default originally released in Japan as Bravely Default: Flying Fairy, and Square Enix just announced the full title for the sequel as Bravely Second: End Layer. Additionally, Inside Games shares a look at some of the bonus costumes in the game.

In Bravely Second, your adventure will take you on the rescue of Agnes Oblige, the heroine of the first title, who got kidnapped by an unknown villain
known as Emperor Oblivion and his fairy partner Anne.

Some of the main characters of Bravely Second are Magnolia Arche, Yu Zeneolsia, Edea Lee, and Tiz Arrior. As part of a first-print bonus, the aforementioned characters will get exclusive costumes, which you can see in the above image.

Moving onto the name, the Flying Fairy title in Bravely Default was originally at a hint at some of the events that take place within the game. Square Enix say that the name End Layer actually holds a hint regarding events in Bravely Second as well.

As previously reported, Tix Arrior, one of the heroes from Bravely Default, will return in Bravely Second. While not much is known about what he’s been up to, it’s said that after the extinction of the Great Chasm, he passed out as if he’d lost his soul, and barely managed to stay alive.

Bravely Second will tell more about Tiz’s story when it releases in Japan on April 23, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.

Bravely Second Adds New Special Moves For Each Weapon Type. February 19, 2015 . 5:00am

This week’s issue of Jump magazine reveals that weapons in Bravely Second will have special moves.

With the return of Tiz, Edea, and several other characters from Bravely Default, along with many new jobs, Bravely Second has quite a lot going on. This week’s issue of Jump magazine reveals that weapons in the game will have special moves. [Thanks, @kazu4281]

Along with a little recap on the key characters of the game and their relationships, the magazine scan mentions that each weapon type will have its own special moves, and in Bravely Second, each weapon you equip will have up to four special moves.

Additionally, whenever you use these special moves, it will give the user certain buffs. The scan shows Magnolia using a special move called “Megaton Swing,” with what appears to be an axe weapon.

Bravely Second is slated for release in Japan on April 23, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS. Check out our earlier report for a closer look at Tiz and the new Guardian job.
