Breaking Bad Movie | Um...what?? Why?? Haha

A theater down the street from me is doing a limited run of this. Definitely going to need to catch it one night. This looks fantastic.

Still not entirely convinced this is necessary but it does look good.

People thought Better Call Saul was "unnecessary" and yet it's one of the best shows out there... and it's in the Emmy race every year.

In Gilligan We Trust.

Loving it. But the only thing throwing me off is
Jesse Plemons. Great having a lot of Todd flashbacks. But the weight gain is hard to ignore.

This movie was beautiful. Just wow. That’s all I can really say.

Film was well done but it still felt an extended Breaking Bad episode rather than a cohesive film in on itself but I’m glad it exists as a companion piece to BB alongside Better Call Saul.

And also..

Robert Forster returning as Ed A.K.A the “disapearerer” was a pleasant surprise. And yeah Plemons definitely put on some weight since the last time he played the role. It was pretty distracting but his acting more than made up for it. Cranston returning as Walt was something that pretty much everyone predicted, and boy he did not disappoint. And correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the Walt & Jesse flashback takes place shortly after Walt and Jesse managed to get the RV working after it ran out of battery in the season 2 episode “4 Days Out”. He’s bald but he doesn’t yet have the mustache and Walt and Jesse looks to be coming out of a hotel as they planned to do after they finished their meth cook before their RV battery died on them.

I hope this is just as good as the Deadwood movie. I was truly happy with what they did and felt it was the ending/send-off we needed.

Just finished it, not a bad film, though it never really felt like a film, but more like an extended epilogue. It is an epilogue I’m very happy we got, and I never felt bored or uninterested watching it. It doesn’t do anything groundbreaking for the series or toss in any giant last minute revelation, it’s here to give us closure and I think it does that job well.

I really enjoyed it. Breaking Bad is my all time favorite TV show, and I was nervous about them doing a movie but after watching it, I am very happy that they did.

great movie! really enjoyed it

Very relieved to hear these reactions from you guys. I was nervous this movie might tarnish a pretty much perfect tv show but it sounds like you guys are saying this is a good addendum to the series.

This was brilliant.

Felt like an extended Breaking Bad episode. Paul killed it as usual.

Loved the ending...

El Camino was kinda what I expected but also very different. I loved it. My favorite movie of the year.

the way I figure it

Jesse was held by Todd and his Uncle for a year or so if I recall correctly, so the flashbacks we see in the movie could be from anytime over that span of a year. Todd could’ve easily put on weight during that year long time period and also lost the weight by the time we get to the year later mark where Walt comes for Jesse, and Jesse kills him seems to me the most logical in universe explanation. That’s all I could come up with.

That's pretty much how I felt about it as well but even as an epilogue to Breaking Bad, it was still one of the best films I've seen this year.
