I live in nova. We've never had an earthquake, that I remember. We just got hit with a 5.8. Some people say they felt it as far north as CT! Insane...

Do earthquakes ever hit Virginia? I'm worried, because I doubt the structures on the east coast were built to sustain quakes.

Yeah. I've always wanted to feel an earthquake. I guess I got my wish.

Virginia had an earthquake earlier in the year, but it was late at night, and small, so not a lot of people felt it.

6.0 apparently....

I felt a tremor all the way in North Carolina. Lol it woke me up.

Apparently it spread so far that it reached Manhattan and other parts of NYC.

Earthquake hit DC, Philly, and NYC.

I felt it in Pittsburgh, first one I've ever felt here...

People felt it in Long Island & NYC as well. Or at least the aftershock

Some are saying they felt it here in north Georgia. I didn't feel or notice anything.

I live in NYC too, so pray for me?

The Earthquake here wasn't that bad from what I heard. It was more like ground shaking than some kind over devastating blow from Mother Nature. I can already see people saying this is another sign of the Apocalypse.

Everyone who felt it in the Carolinas and Georgia probably live near the east coast fault line.

I was sleeping in bed. At first I thought it was a tornado. Looked out the window and saw clear skys. Then I thought nuclear explosion. Earthquake was my third guess. Then I was concerned about a tsunami. Also, the thought of a meteor impact crossed my mind.

We in California wouldn't even look up from our computers for a 5.8 :p

Yeah. Its just something uncommon out here.

I'm in NYC right now - it was trembling here for a few seconds, and then a few lights went out. I just heard some buildings in the city were evacuated. Freaky!

Our fire warden just announced that everything is fine. Keep in mind this was the same fire crew that originally told us the 2003 blackout had only affected our building.

I was taking a little nap before work. Go figure, I'd sleep through and earthquake. I didn't feel a thing.

I was sitting outside having lunch and I felt it. First time I ever felt an earthquake!

Our security guard is actually complaining that he missed it...

It was weird, it was a little trembly, and I didn't think it was anything. Then people around the office were asking if anyone else felt that too. Then the phones started going off and we started hearing that it was an actual earthquake.

Always good to have an emergency situation so close to the 9/11 anniversary...

Hour north of Philly and I felt it. Thought I was going insane... lol.
