I'm mixed on it in all honesty.
The truth is, conspiracy theorists have nothing to do with it. There are groups who will always claim, even if they see it, that it's photoshopped for an Obama poll bump. They would physically have to be holding the body for it to satisfy them.
So if not for them, then who? Us? Is it our curiosity? A morbid curiosity? Wanting to see his blood as a sort of revenge? I don't think it's entirely that either.
The Middle East then? From what I'm hearing most of them don't care. With the recent changes and riots, it seems like Osama is a relic, no longer relevant (as a public face that is) to the majority of them (from news reports it even seemed most were happy as many ppl, not just Americans, have been killed by him). Plus, along with the conspiracy theorists, many who followed him wouldn't believe it anyway, unless they, again, had the body in their hands (and if they did they'd make it into a shrine).
So I'm not sure who REALLY needs to see it. On the other hand we see gory images all the time. Just watching River Monsters on animal planet the other day showed a body after Piranha's had a go at it, I'm sure that was probably every bit as gory. I also am not so sure that a picture of him would necessarily set the Middle East on fire, nor make Osama's followers rush their plans to attack us anymore.
