Transformers brief sexual humor, and language.

Seriously, what real dramatic purpose do references to self-love or porn serve in a film about humanity versus alien robots? NONE

Perhaps part of the issue was looking for a dramatic purpose in a comedic scene?

We aren't all completely anal retentive about things our children are exposed to in life..

What you do in your own home..

I apologize for wanting everyone to enjoy this. I'm sorry. I must remember, Transformers are for teens.

My reply may have been harsh, but I didn't necessarily mean it as such. I don't think of people who choose to avoid certain topical discussions with their children as bad parents.

Where I draw the line is with people who choose to harp on maybe 6 sentences of sexual nature during one scene in a movie that is packed from beginning to end with indiscriminate death and destruction.

Well, I don't find porn or *********ion humorous, and I think it's rather sad that so many people do...but that's a debate not for this thread.

Eh, I was just joking. I have a bunch of problems with this movie, but yeah..the death and destruction doesn't bother me cause it's just a movie. I don't want to compare it to the original cartoon, but the cartoon could be watched by anyone and featured death and destruction. It's part of Transformers. And violence and been a part of children's programs forever.

In Star Wars episode III, Anakin is burned to a crisp, gets all his limbs chopped off, and Dooku is decapitated. No parents complain. But a little sexual humor in Transformers? GOD FORBID!

Both should raise consern for parents of young children. The difference I would say is, the violence in Star Wars ep. III was nessisary to further the plot and show Anakins decent into the darkside.

The sexual humor in Transformers was nothing more than cheap humor that distracted from the actual plot. It was really unessesary, other than a chance to tell some off color humor.

My 11 year old nephew laughed his ass off when he heard it because he knows what *********ion is. I don't know how he found out, but he knew and saw the humor in that scene. We both had a good chuckle, and that was that. The kid is a straight A student with perfect attendance in school, and having already found out by 11 what *********ion was clearly hasn't impeded his life progress.

My 8 year old nephew laughed too, but then whispered me and asked what *********ion was. I told him "I'll tell you later" and left it at that. By the end of the flick, he forgot he ever heard it.

Exactly. Kids know this stuff at somewhat of an early age.

Where do they hear it from?

No matter how sheltered a child is with media- if you send them to school and not home school them they'll know ALOT by eleven years old. Guarantee it. You find out a lot from school... my parents never told me about it, someone at SCHOOL did.

So, honestly I don't understand this whining and moaning if school has more of an effect with this stuff than media.

Besides the movie is PG-13... Terminator learn how to read or at least learn the rating system.

This movie just went too far with the humor, i mean comon we came to see robots battle on earth. i didn't pay to see bernie macs ma flipin him off at the car dealer, or sam and parents talking about masterbating, or BB peeing on the sector 7 guy...It's just that i wanted to see a serious action movie.

I do agree there.

I know how to read, don't be an ass.

Looks like i'm not the only one who feels like way now.

Ahh come on people....Tell me you didn't laugh at the "bee-atch" thing hanging in the camaro..lol

I'm what a lot of people would call a Christian prude, but I was able to laugh at the "lewd" jokes. They weren't really that raunchy, but they were pretty darn funny. Sure, it wasn't appropriate for the kids, but what was there would go right over their heads. Older kids are going to know about that stuff anyway, so as long as you have the "important discussions" with the older ones, and tell the young 'uns that you'll "explain when they're older" if they ask questions, then it's not a whole lot to be concerned about.

Ratchet's comments about Sam's "pheromone levels" got a huge laugh from the whole audience. :D

Lmaol, dude- don't try to act like there's alot of you. There aren't. But, thanks for the laugh- I needed it.

I have read through, can't believe it got to seven pages with your endless rants and I saw:

80-90% against everything you say.
8% against the context of the humor, but not alligning with the whole 'children' aspect.
2% with the whole children shouldn't see this aspect

And in case for some reason you couldn't tell- yes there obviously is that division of people who didn't like the humor and people, one or two- you being one, who don't find it appropriate for children.

You want to shelter a child? Do it the safest way- home school. The only two bad areas are rap (which I hate with a passion, don't get me started) and schoolyard talk.

Well thanks for the percentages but I don't really care. I'm not a lemming.

Seriously, the "brief sexual humor" is in no way something that should keep anyone from taking kids seing this movie.

I have a 5 year old and a 7 year old, the only thing stoping me from taking them to see this movie is scenes like Scorponok stinging the one soldier and a couple of other violent shots. But I'll let them see it on DVD when it comes out.

My 4 and 7 year old sons had no problems whatsoever with the movie and absolutely loved it along with my wife and I.

We all had a blast. All the sexual humor went right over their heads anyways.

Fantastic movie!:trans:

Yes, I certainly hope not... or else I'd be terrified!

Oh come on. It isn't that bad. People should screen movies that they take their children to. As a responisible parent screening a movie is important. I would never take my niece or nephew to a movie I didn't know what was in it. I've seen every movie I've taken them to before they see it to make sure it's suitable. Step up and be the responsible one.

Besides the people who grew up with Transformers are now in their late 20s early 30s. I think they can handle it.

To be perfectly honest (and this is where I agree with some of the people complaining) you REALLY don't expect to hear talk of *********ion in a Transformers movie. Yeah, I didn't screen it.... but I'm no rookie to filmgoing, and I got everything I expected to see. But the *********ion stuff was definitely way out of left field.

Not pre-screening does not indicate irresponsibility. Taking a 4 year old to see Hostel 2 does though...

I'm sure I agreed that's it's not just children, but that the comedy really doesn't fit in this movie at all.

Can someone tell me what the scene was about? lol

Sam is being suspiciously vague about why he'd locked the door to his room (he was talking to the autobots in the back yard out his window) when his parents come up to check on him (after the power goes out)

After some questioning, Mom hesitantly asks him if he was *********ing and tells him it's okay if he was and he shouldn't feel ashamed. He and his dad react in horror...

I thought it was really funny, but it did make me also go "whoa wtf?"

It also didn't help that the entire scene seemed to last around 7 hours. I thought they'd never get out of the house.
