I always thought of this as Buffy's defining image.

Angel was pretty charismatic when he was introduced, wasn't he? He was certainly charismatic when he was introduced as the central protagonist in his own series.
He was always more brooding than charismatic, the show certainly wouldn't of survived past the first season without Cordy (especially after Killing of Doyle) and what do you know once again it's a girl who is the most charismatic of the group.
Are you talking purely about likability? Because yeah, Cordy was more likable than Angel. So was Wesley. But Angel was more interesting and more compelling a character than either of them until season 3.He was always more brooding than charismatic, the show certainly wouldn't of survived past the first season without Cordy (especially after Killing of Doyle) and what do you know once again it's a girl who is the most charismatic of the group.
The only one I think that was "dramatically" charismatic was Buffy. The reason I loved this show is because you could relate to all the characters on a very basic humane level, both male and female.
For dramatically charismatic females, I'd point to Grey's Anatomy. It seems every female character has had their fill of ridiculous self serving soliloquies on that show.![]()
Okay I was just thinking about it and have you ever noticed, how Whedon's male characters (at least on their introduction) always have dramatically less charisma than the female characters?
It would appear someone misunderstood me when I said...
In that example "dramatically" took the place of the term "a lot"![]()
After watching Prophecy Girl today I
Buffy
Best Episode - The Gift (beyond brilliant)
Don't be ridiculous seasons 6 & 7 weren't that bad, they may not of had the same charm as the other seasons, but when they decided to have a darker tone we knew they wouldn't, however several episodes (Such as Chosen and Once More With Feeling) are up there with the best of Buffy and in essence the only reason why hardcore fans of Buffy don't like the final 2 seasons is because Buffy was depressed / dealing with post traumatic shock, which was reflected in the other characters and several episodes felt slightly detached from the rest, I really hate people keep having a hissy fit, because they tried to make it more of a grown up series rather than their normal happy go lucky tone.
Actually LSM's comment just made me wonder, who are your 5 favourite characters from Buffy and Angel? Mine are...
1. Faith Lehane
2. Buffy Summers
3. Cordelia Chase
4. Rupert Giles
5. Willow Rosenberg
Heres something:
Did everyone notice that basically every main female cast member has turned into something supernatural?
Anya- The demon
Well Anya was a demon first so other way round for her lol
I did love how she had to learn about being human and how she said inappropriate things, like when Buffy's mum died she had no idea what was wrong and right to say lol
And bunnies! Anya was a great character I was sad when she died![]()
