Yeah, the animated series would have been weird. The only way it would have been worthwhile for me is if it was treated entirely as an alternate timeline with new character and plot arcs and whatnot. Otherwise it would have been a censored rehash, or purely episodic, one which is just boring, and the other which seems like a waste of the characters. One thing that would have been cool would be to have Spike chipped and a recurring character at the same time that Angel was a recurring character, simply because Spike/Angel banter is always welcome.

i think the comic should be made into a cartoon at the very least

If they did do the animated series, I though that one of the episodes they could do is were Andrew releases flying monkeys on the school play. He mentions it in one of his first episodes in season six. I also wouldn't mind seeing books like, "The Gatekeeper Trilogy" adapted for TAS.

I'd watch that.

meh, i only want it if it's a continuation, not a odd past event timeline with dawn.

I'd have to disagree. We're already getting a continuation, which I think is great. In a cartoon, I'd love to just see some good ol' Sunnydale High times.

With, prefferably, very little Dawn.

I want to see this show...

lol Go Buffy! It's about time that there was a girl that doesnt immediately fall head over heels for that *****ebag.

I saw news that Andy Hallett and it's a tragic loss. He was a talented actor and singer as well.

33 is way too young to die and if they ever brought back Angel on television it would be weird never seeing Lorne again. RIP Andy. :csad:

Dang! I'm totally out of the loop. This is the first I've heard of this. How'd he die?

I'd rather imagine Whedon on horseback with a sword, rallying the cast and crew to ensure that if someone ****s up their baby for the big screen, it's gonna be them. Mostly because I like parodies of Lord of the Rings, really. In reality, though, I would hope that Whedon would do his best to make sure his creation doesn't get ****ed on the big screen again. Although, if the studio is serious about no Willow or Xander, I cannot imagine how the film could actually be any good. I mean, it might actually be good, but a pale reflection of things that have Willow and Xander in them.

Your fantasy sounds more "Braveheart" than "Lord Of The Rings", but I like your analogy. I agree that making this movie now is a bad idea, and making it without Joss is even worse. The first movie sucked because some dumb b***h took Joss's vision and decided to mess around with it. Joss was fresh off working on Rosanne at the time, he was unknown, had no pull in Hollywood, and was powerless to stop people from ruining his creation. By the time the series got greenlit, he had the clout he needed to maintain creative control over the show, so the series rocked.

There was an issue of the Buffy comic (ther one that was out at the same time as the series, not Season 8) where Buffy is telling Willow and Xander the story of her first few weeks as The Slayer back in L.A. It was retold in a way that makes it more like the series (and Buffy was drawn to look like Sara Michelle Gellar). If they were to do the Buffy movie like THAT? It might be watchable. If they don't? They'll likely make all the same mistakes that were made in the first one. It's amazing how no one in Hollywood has ever seemed to have heard the saying "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it." That became a saying for a reason people!

I read that. It definitely made the movie plot more appealing. Pike was actually kind of cool. I wouldn't mind seeing them bring him back someday.

Actually, wouldn't it be crazy if he were Twilight?

Wish I'd bought that issue. I would've liked to see Pike show up in Sunny Dale durint the last few episodes of Season 7. Maybe cast Freddy Prinz Jr in the role. Might have caused some confusion between "Spike" and "Pike" though.

I kinda doubt he'll end up as Twilight. Though knowing how Joss's mind works, Twilight's identity will probably be familiar yet unexpected. Buffy's dad maybe?

I'd seen a theory tossed around that Twilight might be [blackout]Riley[/blackout], and considering he's one of the only people we've not seen so far, it could be a possibility.

Eh. That does seem likely, but it wouldn't make for a great story to me.

You obviously have missed some issues. Riley has shown up. He's playing "Double Agent Guy". He's spying on Buffy and her Slayers for Twilight, and spying on Twilight for Buffy. As for who he's REALLy working for? They're being very ambiguous about that right now. We'll have to wait and see.

I have a theory that the guy that Buff went on a date with in "Never Kill a Boy on the First Date," who got all addicted to danger, ended up falling in with Rack and the dark magic scene in Sunydale, became ridiculously powerful, and is now Twilight.

EDIT: GODS BALLS!!!!

Well, since I found myself having a double post, I think I should take the opportunity to make a confession without making it seem like I'm trying to up my post count: After a lot of thought, I have come to realize that I am much more a fan of Angel/Cordelia than Angel Buffy. I am not ashamed.

That's an interesting theory.

The theory is supported entirely by the fact that it would be funny.

I've always been kind of disappointed that there was never an Angel to Buffy crossover. We got loads of Buffy characters to crossover to Angel (Spike, Willow, Andrew, Buffy herself, etc.) I would've loved to see Lorne in Sunnydale.
