So, in the same vein as Harl's legendary Manifesto, I present....
Author's Note: This is just based on my opinion, and is not meant to hurt anyone's feelings. This is just my pet peeves and a few things that have irked me in my almost four years in the RPGs (Four years?!

)
Wind Runners
We know people like this, they come into an OOC thread and post an app for a character. It may be a good RPer, may be a mediocre one, but whomever it is they always never fail to do the same thing: post once or two as the character and then disappear off the face of the Earth. Just as soon as they show up, they're gone. I understand that life can be a ***** and you can't always commit, but the Wind Runners always come back for more and always leave soon after, almost as if the just want to do an application without playing the character. I feel like, if you know you can't commit, then why even bother? I know the RPGs can be fun, but it's always important to prioritize your time. Don't tease us with an app and then disappear time and time again.
Long-Term Planners
Everyone has plans, who doesnt? We've all been guilty of planning story ideas far in advance, but the Long-Term Planner gets everything done down to the minute details. That can cause problems because an RPG is based on working with other players. Every story arc has to have some flex and wiggle room to run just right. The major downside to planning in advance is that your plans will be upstaged by someone who has an idea and wants to act on it right now. I'm not saying don't look ahead, because that's something you have to do, just don't get wrapped up in long-term ideas and plans. Keep an eye towards the future, while focusing on the here and now. After all, the best laid plans of mice and men often go askew.
Big Schemers
Sometimes the Big Schemer and Long-Term Planner go hand in hand, but not always. Your average Big Schemer is the type of person who can't do RPing unless it's a big arc that involves something that will effect the whole RPG. I think the main reason for this pet peeve is my love of street-level heroes and crime fiction. I've never cared for the crazy arcs that involve the end of the universe, and I understand some people like to do that stuff. This is just a case of different strokes for different folks. I understand I've been guilty of scheming with the Dark Alliance in the DC RPGs Season VI, but for the most part I like to stick to the background in the big arcs (something I'll touch on next). If everyone is out there, trying to do an RPG encompassing arc with everyone involved, then you can have problems and you can kind of get event fatigue after so many big things.
Prima Donnas
We've had some people like this in the RPG before, and thankfully they number few and far between. We all know what a prima donna is and how they can refuse to work with someone on changing their plans and ideas. Yeah, you may be good at writing, but threats to quit an RPG aren't scaring anyone. I'd rather take five mediocore RPers who are fun to work with than one good prima donna any day. The thing with Prima Donnas is that they seem to be Big Schemers most of the times, while Big Schemers are not always Prima Donnas. The thing with RPing is to remember that cooperation is the key and that not everyone can be the star of the RPG, no matter how much they want to. What in the hell is so goddamn bad about being a street-level hero or one that's taking part in a big event as a supporting character? I remember a Prima Donna, Long-Term Planner, and Big Schemer all rolled into one that pretty much ruined an RPG's whole season and the RPG limped along, losing RPers until it was thankfull rebooted. That's the kind of damage bad RPers like that can do. My point is this: grow up, it's only a ****ing game. If you can't play along, get the **** out.
Hand Holders
Most of the time, Hand-Holders only show up when they first start in an RPG, after a bit they stop. They'll come into a thread and post "Hey, can someone can give me a summary of the season?" Or "What characters are needed at the moment?" or "Who should I play?" I'm sorry, but if you can't do the work and research to pick out a character you want to play and to read up on what's going on, then maybe you're not commited enough to play. I know it's easy for me to talk about doing research, what with no job and too much time on my hands, and I don't mind so much about the season recaps and questions, but it's the folks that need someone to tell them who to play that I don't care for. If you expect someone to pick out a character for you, a character you probably don't know much about, then how can we expect you to pick them up and keep them? There was one RPer in particular who never got out of his hand holding stage. He was constantly asking for ideas and characters. I remember once the poster couldn't find the new OOC thread at the start of a new season...even though it was in the same forum as the old OOC thread so we had to give him a link to the new thread....
And that's it for me. As I said, I don't mean for anyone to take offense to this, and these are just my opinons. I didn't name names and the examples of RPers I used are no longer part of our community. So yeah, I just wanted to vent...

So **** you and the horse you rode in on!
