This is some really great stuff here, because I'm still FAIRLY new to the whole RPG thing myself and there's a lot of these little social faux pas that you just never consider until you've already done them by which time its already too late.

Despite how relatively short a time I've been on here I've still managed to check FAR too many of these boxes, to the point where the paranoid part of me wonders whether Byrdman and C. Lee didn't come up with this list by following me around.

:cmad: There he is, Andy! Let's **** this mother****er up!

Nah, it's cool. Everyone's guilty of doing them every now and then. Hell, I've done pretty much everything on my own list at one point or another.

Do you accidentally call yourself C. Lee as well..?

Oh, I agree that Blackest Night has some brilliant moments (pretty much everything Barry Allen does is made of 100% awesome, and having Lex Luthor show up as an orange lantern was a great "of course!" Moment), but the first couple of issues were also filled with stuff like making Firestorm murder his girlfriend. Does it help any part of the story? No. Does it make the character more interesting? No. Is anyone going to actually read the Firestorm comics to follow up on it? No. It was there just to have a shocking, brutal scene with a B-list character that no one will care about if they get put through the wringer. Just pure comic kill-porn at its fullest.

Actually, that is being followed up. It's going to be one of the many post-BN plot points to be dealt with in Brightest Day, evidenced by the reaction that the current Firestorm has to being separated from the previous Firestorm in the final issue of Blackest Night.

Of the top of my head, I can't think of a single death in BN that either wasn't addressed, or setup for some potentially very interesting stuff for the future. There's probably a few C or D list deaths that don't matter in the scheme of things.

I actually became much more intrigued with Firestorm because of that scene in Blackest Night.

F-ck Firestorm. Possibly the most stupid Superhero idea ever.

Figures, I have motivation to post again and the Hype never wants to load me when trying to get a post in. Every damn time I try to get on it, it doesn't load. But at work, here, now, when I cannot post my post I can view the Hype. Just dandy.

Sorry for the lack of posting guys. It's been one helluva week at school. I'll get stuff up tomorrow.

Nothing major to announce, but starting tomorrow, I'm going to be gone for two weeks. A buddy of mine is getting married far out of state, so I'm boarding a train tomorrow evening to be apart of the wedding party for this Saturday. Then I'm heading back to another friend's house to stay for another week, because I can't secure transportation until the next Saturday to head back home. So I'll effectively be gone from the 10th to the 22nd or 23rd of May, depending on when I arrive back in-state.

I'll be leaving an application for Spider-Man with Byrd Man, to submit on my behalf in Marvel when/if the new season goes up in my absence. I understand that this is sort of an inconvenience, but I've got no choice. I'll be off the Hype for two weeks, and under the rules, everyone that I play would technically be up for grabs. I've at least secured Batman and Spidey by posting today with both, so I can only hope that I can come back and resume where I left off. Not that anyone around here isn't used to me being off the grid, but I want to try and improve that noticeable infrequency in a big way when (if? :wow:) I return.

So, this is probably the last you'll hear of me from now until then. See you all when I can, and this little corner of Hype will definitely be in my thoughts. :yay:

Oh, and I've made the other mods aware of this ahead of time, so don't think you'll be getting off lightly. They'll be watching you. :cwink:

Don't worry, you'll still have your characters when you get back.

*starts writing an app for Hype RPG Moderator*

That's a tough role to research. You'll have to pick up all the trades.

Better not get your flight delayed on the way back or your Batman is mine... Buwahahahahahaha!

Just kidding.

...or am I.*

*Yes, I am. Please don't temp ban me for three weeks...

I'm surprised MB isn't using that as his strategy to make sure he keeps his characters.

Makes me glad I don't play in the Marvel games. :awesome:

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, man. How funny would that be? His letter ends with "...so I'm putting you all on probate til I get back. Have fun!" Hype's fearless dictator, ftw.

But, seriously, guys - we've got a bigger problem. Two weeks away from us? Our mental hold on his mind will wear off and possibly be broken! Once free, he'll never return. ... We must work quickly...

So, yeah, as some of you know, my internet connection comes from piggy-backing off my neighbor's wireless connection. Well, it seems they've either finally got wise to me or didn't pay their bill, because the internet at my house popped off Tuesday. I'm at the library right now, using their computer. I only get about two hours on the library's computer before it automatically logs me off, so I'll continue posting on weekday mornings. This might effect my workload in the RPGs, but for right now I'm keeping all my characters. Hopefully my neighbors get their **** fixed or I'll start having to.....pay for my internet. :csad:

If you can see his signal, but can't log in, then he's gotten wise and secured his system. Otherwise, he's shut the internet down (or moved it to the other side of the house :p)

Now, if he's only secured it with WEP, you might be able to find a utility online to break back into his system. If he's secured it with WPA, you're pretty much screwed.

I can just imagine Byrd running a network cable direct from his neighbour's modem, through their house and out the back door...

"Don't mind me, folks..."

Nah, he'd drill a hole right through the wall. That way he could also peek in when the good stuff is happening. ;)
