Am a big fan of the Burton movies, though i realy like Batman Begins, not too sure about the Dark knight yet, its not the second coming people make it to be , Joker was like the main reason to watch the movie, while Batman begins was just balanced all through , not waiting to see a certain villain on screen when hes off screen, thats how i felt anyway. Back to Burton , people might complain about how he changed the penguin, but the Penguin in Batman Returns kicked A$$ , if Ledger deserved an oscar for the joker, then Danny definately deserves one too. Anyway back to my topic, i didnt realy like Two Face after his transformation in the Dark Knight, something about it just didnt clicked, so got me thinking if Burton had done a 3rd movie and included Two Face, Burtons Two -Face would have been far better , same goes for Burtons Scarecrow, though i loved Scarecrow in Begins

Harvey Dent was hardly in Batman 89 one or two scenes.

Max Shreck was used instead of Dent.

I still think Schumacher's version is what Burton would have done with Two-Face.

Two-Face would probably be less laugh I would love Burton's take.

I seriously don't think they were even thinking of Two-Face when they did Harvey Dent in B89. I might be wrong but that's the impression I got.

I would be interested to see what Burton would've done with the character, but I dont think as comic accurate as what Nolan just gave us in TDK though.

Define comic accurate? I loved TDK's Two-Face but I don't know if he's exactly more comic accurate than say the TAS interpretation. In any case the most influential story for TDK and Harvey Dent/Two-Face's arc wasn't even an idea back in 1988.

Yeah me too. Two-Face wasn't even introduced to the adaptations till the cartoon series so there wasn't any big demand for the character when he made the first film. Not like say The Joker or Catwoman. He was cut from BR cause they felt they didn't want to portray Harvey Dent the way they did Max Schreck. Had Burton made a third I could see him use The Riddler but not Two-Face.

I still think Burtons Two face would have been way better character wise and appearance wise, if his penguin was that deep and scary, wonder what he would have done with Two face , what i would give to see another Burton Batman

If Burton had done Two-Face you can bet that one side of his suit would be striped, like in Betelgeuse's. But the face, I can't even imagine.

Burton hired the wrong man to play Dent. Therefore his version of Two-Face would be flawed from the very begining. Now, if he had hired someone decent it would have been a different story. In fact we could have gotten a really good story instead of the nonsense with the blessed saint Catwoman.

It's been ages since I listened to them, but Burton touches upon his idea of Two Face in the commentries in the latest two DVDs of Batman and Batman Returns.. My memory is a little fuzzy, so please don't take this as gospel. From what I recall, he mentioned loving the physical and mentally duality of the character, and about representing it visually in black and white (he does in a lot of his work). He said that originally, Max Schreck's arc was going to be Harvey Dent's, and that when Selina Kyle electrocutes him in the end and that's how he becomes scarred; but the studio didn't want Billy Dee Williams and blocked his contract so they couldn't use him and recasted with Tommy Lee Jones...

It's a shame because that would have been pretty cool to see that happen and Burton's take on the character - but, ultimately, it worked out well because now we have Nolan's take on the characters, and still have two great Burton films to look back on. Everybody wins : )

Billy Dee was, thats the only reason he agreed in the first place. :csad:

Devitos penguin was awful not that it was his fault. i cant stand that movie

Now that I think about it, Burton's Two-Face probably would've look liked something along these lines:

Probably a bit more gruesome though.

Thats funny it looks just like his sketch of The Penguin he did for reference for BR.

Would very ineresting to see what Burton would have done with Two-Face.
Alot of characters.

I would have love to see what he would have done to The Riddler, Poison-Ivy, Mr. Freeze and especially Scarecrow.

I think Burton's two face would be awesome the coin in one hand and a Colt 45 in the other.

Everyone knows that malt liquor is the trademark of two face.

Actually I look at the TAS as what batman would be like if burton stayed on.

I look at Schumauchers films as a continuation of the 1966 show (just not as good)

I would love to see Burton draw his versions of Two-Face and Riddler. He's a brilliant illustrator.

Billy Dee Williams as Two-Face would have been alot more pleasing than Tommy Lee Jones as Jack Nicholson.

I' ve always looked at Batman & Robin as a continuation of the 1996 show too, only difference is this time they got CGI and new costumes. If you listen closely in B&R you could hear the pow, krack sounds

No, because the characters behave totally different from Burton's version. They just took some designs (because they had to), the completely new characters didn't look Burton-ish at all. And that's why the show is so good, the one-dimensional BurtonBatman characters couldn't carry a tv series.

Billy Dee Williams could've been good with the right direction

Tommy Lee Jones could've been good with the right direction and script

Aaron Eckhart WAS good with the right direction and script!

I agree with you DaRkVeNgeanCe. We will never know what Billy Dee Williams would have done in the role. that's a regret.

But Yes Tommy Lee jones would have been good if he had a good direction and a good script. He had neither of them. The way Schumacher / goldsman use him was ridiculous. Why were both the riddler and two face written like the joker ? :wow:

Aaron Eckhart was more lucky with nolan. And that's a good satisfaction.

I hope by 'wrong' you're not referring to skin tone.

Billy Dee is a very fine actor and with the right elbow room, he could've pulled off an interesting version of Tw-Face.

I will agree with El Payaso that I also didn't get the impression of longevity with the representation of Dent in "B89." He felt more in line with the various portrayals of the Mayor in the films as a sort of political bit character that's there just to comment on Batman's antics more so than do anything.
