Revenge of the Fallen Buying Tickets For the Midnight Premiere

It's not about spending money on gas and food. It's about the experience. But I'm in love with movies also. I've never seen a film in Imax, but I am tempted to go downstate and see it with my Sister just to experience Imax for the first time.

Ditto, the closest IMAX theater to me is over 2 hrs away. Why spend all that money on gas, food, and tickets when I can get in free and have discounted food not fifteen minutes from my house? Besides, we have one screen that is huge that looked awesome for The Dark Knight and can hold over 300 people in it. It's just a couple steps away from being IMAX in my opinion.

Skip IMAX, go to a regular theater instead to freak out over the awesomeness. (And don't make a mess, because someone has to pick up after you leave.)

Not to dismiss your obvious excitement on being a theater usher and concessionist and getting free movies, but, having worked in theatre management and projection for twelve years I can tell you that there is a MOUNTAIN of difference between regular 35mm exhibition and the experience you get out of seeing a properly exhibited IMAX film presentation. You can't even compare the two, really. It isn't merely the size of the screen. It is the image clarity and sound. Also, you will find that when you pay the extra charge for an IMAX presentation, you will have a lot better behaved audience than you will in a normal theatre as EVERYONE there is there to ENJOY the FILM.

And again, the new LieMAX theatres that Regal and AMC are polluting the marketplace with are utter crap and are really killing the IMAX brand, so if you want a TRUE IMAX presentation and want to know what all the hype is about, make sure you ask if the IMAX presentation you are paying extra for is FILM or DIGITAL. If it's digital, DO NOT PAY FOR IT. That isn't IMAX.

I have been checking almost everyday to see if the Imax theater nearest me have tickets on sale yet and so far nothing. :csad:

got my midnight tickets last night ayyyy

I beleive the majority of IMAX theatres are going to begin selling tickets tomorrow. At least that was the word I got back when I inquired with Fandango.

I would, but I have school.....:( damned school
I'm not going to see it in Imax first time through. Devastator's and Soundwave's awesomeness (awesomenesses?) in 3D will killl me if i am not adjusted to it.

It's not in 3-d?

I got my tickets last night too! YAY 21 and over theatre so I can enjoy a beer and watch the movie! Seriously best place to see movies, they have an Imax too!

Anyone in the Orange County/Anaheim area?

Yes, I live in OC and I am going to Spectrum but they don't have tickets yet so I am nervous because Aliso Viejo does. Don't know what to do

You should try out the theatre in Anaheim... it's at that place called Gardenwalk. It has an IMAX theatre, a reg theatre, and a 21 and over side. And their tickets are on sale now. It's a nice ass theatre too their shows start at 1200 and they have another at 3:05

BTW it's called Cinema Fusion

Garenwalk has a FakeIMAX same with Aliso Viejo. Spectrum is the only one with a true IMAX with a huge screen in Orange County.

Here's a map showing if a theater has a LieMAX or real one.

Have you been to the theater in Aliso? I know the Spectrum theater is amazing but they do not have tickets for sale yet and I do not want to miss my chance.

No, but on the map I linked above, they showed it as a fakeIMAX. All these new IMAXes that are being built in the past year are fakeIMAX. Just imagine that Irvine IMAX and cut in half, that's what these fakeIMAXes are. It's a total rip.

Just kept checking every hour or so to see when the Irvine tickets start selling. It usually takes 2 to 3 days for them to sell out. It took Dark Knight around 2 days I think.

I just bought my tickets for the Pointe Orlando IMAX where I saw The Dark Knight. All this talk about LieMAX had me worried, but thankfully that theater appeared as legit. Thank god too, because that theater is amazing. The Dark Knight, Watchmen and Star Trek all looked awesome there.

I must be the only person not crazy about imax. Yeah, it's big but I wouldn't drive outta my way to get an imax theater like some of my friends. I'll def try to get tix to the midnight showing though :D

While I wouldn't necessarily recommend driving two hours JUST for an IMAX screening, the difference between an IMAX presentation versus a conventional theater is staggering.

As great as The Dark Knight was, Revenge of the Fallen is the type of film that was born for IMAX. As epic as this flick might be, it'll be that much more epic in IMAX. Everything about the experience is heightened ten-fold.

I'm going to an IMAX screening when I see it, and I'm preparing myself now for the potential mindsplosion I'm going to have.

Just got my IMAX midnight screening tickets.

Can't wait. Love seeing movies in IMAX. But I really can't wait to hear the sound for this film.

I'm thinking about it, but I honestly like going to shows the night of, go in with the 7pm - 9pm crowd. Get in at night, and get out early enough to come here and talk about it with everyone.

I whole-heartedly agree. Huge explosions, giant CGI robots and mind-blowing sound, this movie was truly made for IMAX, especially since they are filming some scenes in IMAX quality. I definitely look forward to it.
