I still think best case scenario is 70s on RT.

Thats fine. We just have to live with the fact that Snyder's take on films doesn't have the overwhelming support as others.

At least he takes chances...

No idea if Scott Mendelson watched it or not...

No, sounds like he watched Superman 3 and knows BvS can't possibly be worse.

The part about the general audience scratching their heads could perhaps be about the possible paramount of fan service this film may have. Maybe characters are introduced that fans with pre-existing knowledge of them may only understand, which can be a problem.

Mendelson says he'll drop the review once the embargo lifts, so if he hasn't seen it, he will tomorrow.

There was a lot of that when I went to see Deadpool, people weren't getting some of the jokes because they clearly weren't big CB fans

reminds me of days of future past end credits scene alot of GA were like WTF was that lol
I remember a lot of that going around for Thanos' reveal during The Avengers credits as well. I know my brother, mother, and uncle certainly were confused by his reveal.

But fans are so accepting of Black Panther. Who the heck knows of Black Panther in the GA? Yet, people will be confused over the likes of Flash or Aquaman? Come on. It's more superhero's...what could be more confusing about it. The genre is doing a KILLING. People will know they're superhero's.

He really is a troll sometimes. lol But he's not a complete a-hole when being so.
He's mega entertaining, I know he's gonna destroy the film, but I won't feel bad, I'll get a kick out of it. It's his schtick. I mean, you can't took a picture of yourself like that without a bit of self-awareness.

Great example. Fitting comparison

Can I just say, I know people were kind of weird yesterday about what you were posting but I find your posts insightful and interesting. Not sure why they freak people out but that too is fun to watch :)

What's the obsession with Rotten Tomatoes?

It's like people can't decide whether a movie is bad or good until they see the critical score. I swear its half the reason why people don't like MOS.

10 Cloverfield Lane is on 90% and its an absolute mess of a film.

Honestly, this has sort have become more of a problem the more the genre has blown up. My gf used to love seeing all the superhero movies with me, but with The Avengers, AoU, DOFP, etc...I can tell she's starting to feel less connected to the stories and it's always me just trying to explain a bunch of weird stuff to her after the movie. And then I end up feeling kind of bad that I dragged her to it, haha. That's why I'm seeing BvS first with my friends.

It's not a deal breaker for me, but I think that is the inherent trade-off of building a cinematic universe. You might get a bigger return on investment in the long run if you can stick with it, but it's harder to have a movie that's a true standalone movie.

Internet bragging rights.

Honestly, if the internet wouldn't of blew up the way it did, people wouldn't have cared about RT or the reviews of MoS. The internet has now become a huge place for the crazies to hang out in. With these properties comes division between brands and wars follow. It's human nature of things a certain group may enjoy. Overall, it's just bragging rights or references that support an argument that fits the criteria of their argument.

Even people who like MoS spin things in the positive light.

But that's what usually happens. BW, Hawkeye. The casual fan didn't know who they were. So it's not any different

GA left scratching their heads eh? Spoon-feeding is the norm right now (we all know which movies I'm referring to) so God forbid people have to apply their brains in a movie.

I'm glad you also see the issues with it. It has a tendency to alienate audiences at times.

In terms of character introductions that were handled poorly, the
Jason Todd aspect
in Arkham Knight comes to mind immediately. No previous games make any note worthy mention of the character (and trust me there are many many gamers who play the series without any comics knowledge) and the gamer is suddenly supposed to care about a character who barely existed throughout the first act of the game, nor had a proper introduction in any of the games previously.
