The comparisons to Nolans films are going to be annoying
reminds me of days of future past end credits scene alot of GA were like WTF was that lol
The part about the general audience scratching their heads could perhaps be about the possible paramount of fan service this film may have. Maybe characters are introduced that fans with pre-existing knowledge of them may only understand, which can be a problem.

I remember a lot of that going around for Thanos' reveal during The Avengers credits as well. I know my brother, mother, and uncle certainly were confused by his reveal.reminds me of days of future past end credits scene alot of GA were like WTF was that lol

He's mega entertaining, I know he's gonna destroy the film, but I won't feel bad, I'll get a kick out of it. It's his schtick. I mean, you can't took a picture of yourself like that without a bit of self-awareness.He really is a troll sometimes. lol But he's not a complete a-hole when being so.
Great example. Fitting comparison

10 Cloverfield Lane is on 90% and its an absolute mess of a film.
Honestly, this has sort have become more of a problem the more the genre has blown up. My gf used to love seeing all the superhero movies with me, but with The Avengers, AoU, DOFP, etc...I can tell she's starting to feel less connected to the stories and it's always me just trying to explain a bunch of weird stuff to her after the movie. And then I end up feeling kind of bad that I dragged her to it, haha. That's why I'm seeing BvS first with my friends.
It's not a deal breaker for me, but I think that is the inherent trade-off of building a cinematic universe. You might get a bigger return on investment in the long run if you can stick with it, but it's harder to have a movie that's a true standalone movie.
