Any news on the development of the new adaptation?

Just wondering because even though I love Fosse's, it was still lacking in terms of power, especially in the musical numbers, and excelled far more in the tacit scenes. And it changed the story, so there is still something to be said and in an even more different way.

What if...the Cabaret itself does not exist? Its not much of a change, and instead it becomes everyone's fantasy escape from harsh realities. The thing is, you don't know it does not exist until the very end. Just a thought.

Also, is it just me or have no productions ever taken full advantage of the songs' possibilities and stage's possibilities? Why not have the emcee come up from the ground on a lift and lower down at the end? Give the songs more commentary and symbolism.

I could direct it but it would be too good of a film.

Anyway, any news?
