well the Avatars have both Human and Navi DNA

Yeah I know, that is what I thought but I was wondering if it is actual fact that Avatar's have more of a human skin texture or is it just the lighting in that scene or whatever which makes Neytiri's skin seem extremely smooth compared to Jake's.

I think the only difference between their skins that I can see is that the avatars have vertical blue stuff on their faces and the Na'vi have horizontal blue stuff on theirs.

I hate Cameron. I think he is a real evil bastard and I hope he burns in hell.

I've got a list of all the things he's done:

1. He used his power to take away his dead brother's child from the mother for no reason. Wait wait, sorry, that was Beethoven

3. Oh right! He once even punched Henry Fonda! NO that was John Ford! Dammit

5. He was so brutal to people he let his actress almost burn to death and was so nasty that his wife joined the Nazi party...no no that was Fritz Lang.

6.He was an anti-semite who laughed at the death of Jews! ahhhhhhh!!! that was Richard Wagner!!!!

7. He had an affair with his own underage niece. Um, no. HG Wells actually...not reading any of his books now I guess.

9. He would show up drunk or totally drugged up on set and the actors had to takeover directing. I;m such an idiot. That was Sam Peckinpah.

10. Oh I know! He forces people to work harder than they normally do and expects people to give him 100%. THATS IT!! Finally. Damn he's an evil bastard!

And so what if Cameron is full of himself you're meant to judge his work not him. I mean look at this years Canne's film festival Lars Von Trier declared himself the most important director in the world and everybody else is overrated despite the fact that his film Antichrist was booed. Summed up my opinion of Cameron perfectly. Personally, the same goes for Christian Bale and Trent Reznor. Chris may be possibly insane, but he's a great actor. Trent may be a complete dick who judges every other artist, but he's a lyrical and instrumental genius; the list goes on and on. They get the job done on-screen and that's what matters. As for Cameron, he's a demanding director that requires his crew to work %110 every day which makes me admire him even more -- he pushes people to an extent, but only for the greater good. If people sign on for a Cameron film, like Kate Winslett, and expect it to be easy, they pretty much deserve to be put through hell.

Not to mention this site, let alone other sites, don't usually cater to the individual.

I don't really have a problem with the page loading, might be your computer/internet connection.

I wasn't saying it with a sense of entitlement. Other people have said previously that this thread takes a while to load. And shouldn't you cater to those with weaker connections or computers? I don't see what's the big deal with just starting a new thread once this reaches 500 or something.

I don't wanna start something, it's just a suggestion and my responses regarding this will end after this. just some food for thought

It is a server issue with why the thread takes a long time to load. The problem is wide spread. The Hype had these problems since the first day it went online I could imagine. This problem is wide spread & not just out to get Avatar fans. Get used to it

The main reason Cameron gets away with it is because he IS such a visionary director who gets great results. If he were Uwe Boll, it would be a completely different story.

As I've mentioned before, my friend worked recently as an art director for a first-time director who had a Cameronesque attitude and NO vision, and she walked off the set and never looked back. We talked about it afterwards and agreed that if it had been James Cameron yelling at her, she would have stayed because everyone knows the guy's good. She just didn't want to stay with that guy because he didn't even friggin' know what he wanted, and yet had ridiculous demands for everyone else.

Cameron knows how to do every job on the set, and demands that everyone just help him along because he physically cannot do every job on the set while shooting a movie. But it's always been his way or the highway - I don't think people working under him actually have a lot of creative input over what they're doing, because Cameron will just come in and demand that they do it how he wants it. It's worked for him so far, so there's really no right or wrong way to go about it. It's just a different approach, and folks who are on his crew undoubtedly know what they're getting into.

I can't stand the fact that people give Cameron **** about his temper and demanding the best from his actors and crew. To me it's a double standard.

I say that because you look at your typical jobs most people have, whether it be retail, fast food or something else, you screw up you're going to get **** from your boss. Now there are workplace ethics to where managers at those jobs can't go full on **** house on somebody without getting a possible lawsuit but this is different.

I don't have experience making films or being on the set of any films but I think it's common sense that when you have an actor who is supposed to bring out certain emotions in a scene and they're not bringing it to the table, you need to light a fire under their ass. You need to bark at them a bit to trigger some emotional responses from them, sort of pump them up in a way.

People may totally disagree with me but I think Cameron is doing nothing wrong. Not to mention everyone is different, and we all don't have the same will power and strength when it comes to holding back frustration and a short temper. That, plus when you have a specific and great vision(like Cameron does as well as a number of other directors obviously)and it's not being done right due to actors and or crew, time is money when it comes to the budget and that alone can put extreme pressure on the director.

I may sound like someone who is a Cameron worshipper but I'm not. I own most of his films and think he makes great and entertaining films but he's not really in my top 5 directors list.

Which leads me to believe more it's a hype ploy by Cameron and Fox to get people so hyped for the HD version that it will break records again.

Avatar -> geeks who are happy with a reasonaly good quality cam footage
Twilight -> estrogen raging tween girl demanding better quality footage of hot shirtless men to fantasize about.

or maybe because the twilight movies already had a big fanbase and with avatar nooen from the general public knows about it . and there are not a lot of cameron and avatar fans who would bother filming it?

just because people think this trailer is good doesnt change the fact that the promotion is pathetic. and there is still not hype and still no mass promotion from this.


p.s.: so FOX is serious with thursday? so it was not a joke? they really want to realese the trailer on a thursday?

Worstpreviews guy is an idiot that was just a solid pessimistic view on Avatar!

The only interesting thing I got out of that is that there will be an intermission in the IMAX cinema's due to it's length!

But I really doubt it's 3 and half hours long, 2:40 Max is my guess like Terminator 2 or Aliens!
