Can another person be Superman or Batman?

What I am asking is how would have felt if like the Flash another persson could take over the role. I mean like Tim becoming Batman and Conner (if he lived through IC) becming Superman and not like how they were in Titans Tomorrow but good. I think it would have worked well. I mean I love how Donna right now is Wonder Woman and how Bart looks like he may be the new Flash.

Everyone in the western world knows clark kent is superman and bruce wayne is batman.

The would probably recognise wonder woman but beyond that nothing and you would get a lot of blank looks from the flash.

yeah Azbats did replace Bruce for a time, but that was never going to last, just like when Dick took over the mantle for a while.

Yes it is. I am wondering can you really replace them forever and have them live on in All-Star Batman and Superman. Because I mean is it wrong for Superman to never settle down and have a family and trust the world into the hands of others and is it wrong for Bruce to get married and find happiness and turn Gotham over to thands of another.

In a serialized format that never ends? Yes, it is wrong. Superman will always be Clark and Batman will always be Bruce. They're too recognizable to change.

Well in all seriousness, neither Batman nor Tim will age enough for us to ever see that transpire. Tim will stay forever below 21 (at least for quiet some time) and Batman will forever straddle 40. However I think there will come a day when Batman's suit, abilities, means and methods will become outdated and require an overhaul. Perhaps then he will dawn a new identity, until then though it is Bruce as Batman and Tim as Robin.
