BvS Can Metallo character work in a Superman movie ??

I think Metallo would be great. i like his story in Johns Secret Origins.

Metallo should be like T1000 that could be awesome. But not as the main villain. Maybe Metallo teamed up with Lex

I could see Metallo being introduced as like Luthors head body guard. Or something like that.

I wouldn't mind, but I can see where people don't want Kryptonite back, though...maybe give him robotic parts made from Kryptonian technology salvaged from Zod's attack, as a government-made deterrent against any further Kryptonian hostilities.

Sure he could. "The Way of All Flesh" episode from Superman: TAS is a favorite, and I don't foresee Metallo being especially difficult to make the transition to a big budget live action Superman movie. There's alot of potential.

Metallo could work.
It depends on who is writing him, and if they avoid what I would like to call the Nolan-Secularization of comic characters.

I was thinking they could combine his classic origin (criminal/murderer who's in a near-fatal accident and has his brain transplanted into a robot body) and his modern origin (guinea pig for a military-contracted Lexcorp project). In essence, it would be a bit like Robocaine from Robocop 2 with Lexcorp replacing OCP.

Yes. In fact I'd put him in the top 5 potential villains to use after Zod:

1. Luthor
2. Brainiac
3. Metallo
4. Bizarro
5. Doomsday

(that is assuming Darkseid is reserved for a JL film)

I'd agree with 80% of that list. Not so much Bizarro, he isn't that translatable to live action in my opinion.

Metallo works as a henchman to Lex Luthor.

Not only could he work, I'd say Metallo is the perfect villain, in tandem with Lex, for the sequel.

Metropolis needs rebuilding and the military will want to vastly upgrade our capabilities to fight back now we know aliens are out there, this is where Lex and Corben (Using Geoff Johns Secret Origin) come in.

Of course they might want to use the new 52 design.

I can't see them using either Doomsday or Bizarro.

With Doomsday, it'd be a weird choice of villain after all the complaints about the senseless destruction and too much action.

With Bizarro, i'm just not sure it'd be a particularly good villain to translate onto the big screen. It's similar with Mxysptlk. If you try and bring them to the big screen and 'modernise' (translation: make them less silly), then they've sort of lost the point.

I'd say Brainiac really SHOULD be saved for a potential third film. I think it's pretty much given that Darkseid will be the villain in a Justice League film, but Brainiac seems like a great way to bring it back to his Kryptonian roots and round it out like a trilogy.

So really, I think Metallo or Parasite are two of the most obvious choices for potential fight scenes, and Lex/Intergang in the background giving the story a bit more weight.

Yeah Metallo would be great for the sequel in combination with Luthor. It's the best way to introduce Kryptonite in this universe. Build his armor on the material of Zod's battle suit and you have a formidable physical threat for Supes.

It is my firm belief that nearly any major comic book villain can work in a movie; they just have to take it seriously and adjust things so it doesn't feel to ridiculous.

If Doctor Octopus, Electro and the Red Skull can work in a movie, Metallo absolutely can.

I do not know how close they were to the source material, but Metallo in Smallville looked really really great. If he appears in a MoS sequel he should look similar to that.

He looks like a park flasher there...

Now that we have Batman, Metallo would be a good villain to team up against. If there is one thing Superman would need help with, it's a villain with Kryptonite in his chest.

I think Metallo and Luthor in a MOS sequel would be killer awesome !

Actually, I was thinking of having Metallo as the dominant villain, with Lex as the mastermind who gets screwed over by Corben and has to be saved by Superman :)

Metallo can work. And I think he will be used.
Don't expect someone like Brainiac already at this early stage. The exploration of Superman villains in films have gone extremely slow. SR used only Lex, not much of evolution even after almost 20 years of absence. And MOS did not exactly come up with something new in terms of picking a villain, they re-used Zod (although a more developped version).
To sum it up, it will be a brave move to even have someone as "basic" as Metallo in WF. He's just a metal robot with a kryptonite core.
Brainiac (a genius A.I. being), Doomsday (the most deadly creature in the universe) or Darkseid (a "god")... sorry, it just won't happen at this stage.

EDIT: Wait, didn't they use Brainiac in S III, sort of? ;)

I'm for Metallo as well. I actually think Mark Strong should play this role while Cranston plays Luthor .

John Corben is a soldier or pilot who was gravely wounded during the Battle of Metropolis in MOS. In order to save his life, Lex turns him into a cyborg. Corben blames Superman for his injuries, and Lex equips his cybernetic body with advanced weaponry (and maybe Kryptonite if Snyder/Goyer choose to introduce it). Lex and Metallo then form and alliance and Metallo attacks Superman physically while Lex pulls the strings. Superman cannot simply fight his way out of this situation like he did with Zod. He would be forced to rely on his intelligence and quick thinking in order to survive.

Yes, Metallo can absoluteley work. I would do him with his TAS style origin and pretty much that character. I thought Luthor and Metallo would be ideal for the sequel.

Just about all Superman's TAS style villains would be great on film.

(So would a TAS style Superman, IMO.)

As long as they give him some compelling story arc or embrace him from the start as a dyed in the wool heel, he can definitely work.

I once had the idea that Metallo starts out with just some minor but impressive cybernetic prosthetics. Think Metallo on Smallville, minus the kryptonite. Then Lex or Brainiac continues to use him to test Superman's powers, inevitably leaving him defeated and depressed. Then Brainiac or someone gives him the kryptonite and more cybernetics and we get the "I once was a man" pathos as he realizes how much he's lost.

I still see him mainly as hench material though, unless they have him betray his boss, and if so it hopefully wouldn't be Lex. The big bad baldie needs to seem very far ahead of everyone else. I say Metallo works for Brainiac, then Lex betrays them both and steals Corben's heart.

Yea if anyone could work it would be Metallo. Think District 9 and Elysium, very similar in concept to how Metallo would work in a live action film, and I mean a very basic Metallo who gets a Kryptonite heart and "some" cyborganic upgrades like an exoskeleton or robot arm and what not, not the comics version where he can change size and **** lol
