Can someone explain this new points system for infractions

What can you get points for? (Can't avoid them if we don't know what offences are)

How does length of probation relate to number of points?

Do I win a prize for getting more points than anyone else?

Etc.

There's no point introducing new rules if you're not going to tell people about it since as far as they're concerned they haven't broken any of the existing rules.

It's not a new "rule".


It's just a new warning system. You get a point and automated PM warning for cursing, spamming, etc. Mods can't pick how much points it's worth, it's just 1 point, 1 infraction, 1 warning. After 3 points you get a day off.

It has nothing to do with any new rules. It's the same old rules with a new warning system.


Before this if a Mod saw you being a spam-face, they would PM you and tell you to stop, this is the same thing except it's more organized. Sends a warning, adds a point, shows you who did it and why.

Also, the points/warnings expire after 10 days, so if you're good the point(s) will go away. If not, they will keep adding up to more probation, ban, etc.

Was this put in place to stop certain un-named mods from banning people without a decent reason? This way they can prove whether or not it was justified, etc

when your points expire they simply go away. If you only had got one point in 10 days, on day 11 you will be at 0 again. But if you get 1 point and then on day 5 you get a point you will have 2 points. On the 11th day 1 point expires and you have 1 left. On THAT point's 11th day, it will expire. Do you get me?
