Yeah it was just how it was shot in the old movie. I just think Trank is a much more talented director than Story and knows how to show these things in a better way.

Probably because a 'super nova' that melts a dude's mask and cooled with a dose of water doesn't read as really intense heat.

Yeah it was just how it was shot in the old movie. I just think .trank is a much more talented director than Story and knows how to show these things in a better way.

In Story's defense, and please understand I am no fan of Story's FF.....what we ended up getting was FAR BETTER than what was originally shot, and we would not have had even that had it not been for Story standing up against the execs. What he did he did in less than 2 weeks time, after the movie was for all practical purposes done. And it wasn't done on a sound stage, it was done with extras, etc...in freezing cold temperatures.

So, no, it did not look quite as spectacular as someone actually holding in a Super Nova, but it was far better than what we would have gotten.

I'm not ready to say Trank is better than any other director, I'll wait until after I've seen this, SW, etc....before I make that statement.

BUT, IN DEFENSE OF TRANK, yes, this is definitely more his genre of movies, whereas Story's is family comedy, and he should really stick with that genre.

Well that's fair enough, how else was the old movie supposed to end? And yeah in fairness to Story Fox were horrible to work for at the time. I will say though Chronicle was better than anything Story has done IMO.

Oh, it does? I just thought they added it to give her some weakness in the previous films. Of course this Sue is much more powerful, so if it happens it'll be for something really big.

Not picking on you Lencho but this reminded me of how things can be like in the panels but people don't know it and think it's not from the comics. I admittedly didn't even know with this example

In some cases people get angry over something being in-accurate and then get shown a panel or a storyline proving it's not and the realisation hits that it was in fact accurate.

This amuses me as it shows the filmmakers did their homework to throw in things the fans will appreciate yet it was all for nought as the fans still got angry because they don't know the source as much as the filmakers did :funny

Though she doesn't exactly have the "look" I would have gone for, I think she is going to pull this off quite well. Looking forward to seeing how they write her.

Sue was my favorite character from the old 90s cartoon and the first two films, and everything I've seen indicates that she's going to be my favorite character from the new movie as well.

BTW, the shot of her 'flying' is most likely going to look even better on the big screen than it does in the trailer, and I can't wait to see it.
