So my 9:00 A.M. class was cancelled this morning. Some people were excited, other people were angered, and a few were "meh."

I ask, how do you respond to cancelled classes?

If it is a college class, the average class is 60 dollars per session...so yeah, you just lost 60 bucks.

Especially if you have to make up the class some other time. You aren't exactly missing anything.

depends on the time of the day when it occurs

if it is your only lecture and you've gotten up exclusively for it, then it's a bummer...

if it's on a friday afternoon and you can start your weekend early, it's pretty great....

Given it just means you are missing lessons you have to make up in the future it is bad. I remember in University, a teacher could not make his class one week so kindly he made make-up sessions at

7pm Friday night and 9am Saturday morning :( :(

This was Corporate Finance as well and the guy was a managing director at Morgan Stanley meaning he was going to see some of our applications when we graduated.

If I could pay $300 for a class, show up one day and pass, its worth it.

LOL. Yo man, what a coincidence. My 2:00 P.M class was canceled today. :woot:

I have no school today. And I am partially using it to finish a paper that I have to turn in tommorow so yes it is good. :) But I go to Public High School.

I thought it was good, because I live 30 miles away, and driving in -20 windchills and blizzard conditions isn't worth going.

And besides, my whole college cancelled classes today.

Yeah. I'm paying for the credit and the letter grade I receive at the end. The prof can cancel class every other day if he/she wants...just tell me what's on the test and make sure I understand it.

it depends when i'd find out about the cancelled class... it was never about the money for me, i skipped enough classes to make myself blind to that.

if i get advance warning then it's fantastic, but if i find out when i've already made the trek to school then it's not so fun. but on more than one occasion, i'd be sitting in class waiting for the prof, and a secretary would come in and write "class cancelled" on the board. and that would be it. and it would be my only class of the day or the first by a few hours or something.

you had a class cancelled on monday morning- not that i was ever awake for that class anyway- you should consider yourself lucky

As long as I don't lose out on what I need to learn in the course, I respond to cancelled class with glee.

Its a bad thing

1) wasted money

2) towards the end of the semester the professors dump all this extra stuff that you have to know for the finals.

3) Going all the way to class just to find out that it had been cancelled, warning might of helped!

I was never upset about cancelled classes, though one time in my lighting and Sound class, we had a sound project due, so the sound lab was booked solid, and a forest fire came right up to the campus, actually scorching the east edge of the parking lot, so they evacuated us all. The teacher was about to demand that the project still be turned in on time, but the Department Chair made him give us extra time because really, who has sound tape editing equipment at home?

If you are a commuter, and you drove there and then it got canceled, yeah that sucks.

I mean, just drive back. I go on bus everyday to school and I dont mind that at all.

I was 45 minutes away, it sucked for me.

The bus? That is a whole different story, if somebody drove for me I would be as bold about it as you are.

Because being on the bus is so much easier. I mean you only wait for like an hour for one to get there and then another hour on the actual bus. Yeah, its so much easier than driving.:whatever: :whatever: :whatever: :whatever: :whatever:

Damn. You win. :csad:

Great, if it's there fault amd this happens often they might even ease up on the low grades.
