I don't think a thread like this exists yet.
This could be the thread where people come to find out about a comic series. Was it cancelled? Limited Series? On Hiatus? Still going on, just delayed? Not out yet? But mostly cancelled.
Comics come out, sometimes last for a while or not long at all and get cancelled. And before you know it months have gone by or a year and you suddenly realize its gone. Like Doom Patrol or Batman Beyond.
So I thought this could be a thread to remember those comics and maybe a date to remember when it was cancelled. We could, if you can find it, post the link to the website that announced it was cancelled.

Batman Beyond isn't cancelled, it's on hiatus because of the New 52. It was announced to return next year.

Sometimes it's hard to tell if a comic is cancelled or on hiatus. I think hiatus is a lot more common than being our right canned, perhaps we could accommodate those books too, perhaps with news about their current status?

Fell, for example, Warren Ellis and Ben Templesmith's superb crime series hasn't been seen on comic store shelves since 2008. Apparently Ellis sent Templesmith the latest script back in January. Ball's in your court Ben!

YOUNG LIARS! :cmad:

**** ya'll!

In the cases where the comic is on Hiatus we can mark it that way until it is confirmed to either be cancelled or returning (and then we can mark down the date it will come back).
This isn't just for DC, but DC has cancelled a lot of comics and not all will come back in the new 52. Marvel has done the same.
I remember seeing advertisements years ago for comics like Big Hero 6, Supernaturals, and Slingers, the Loners, etc. And before I knew it they were gone.
This list could help people who are wondering about certain comics.

All those Marvel books were limited series, however a Supernaturals sequel was intended if the book sold (which it didn't). Same with Loners. Slingers was the only ongoing in that bunch, and yes, that WAS cancelled due to low sales.

OK, so if someone mentions a comic that they are wondering about like I did with Supernaturals then someone else can say it wasn't cancelled it was a limited series.

I'd love to see the Slingers get SOME kind of chance again somewhere. That book was great. It's a shame I never tried it until it was in the .25 cent bins at my old LCS.

Eh, at least we have Prodigy over in Youth in Revolt.

Unfortunately, Hornet is dead and Dusk has been MIA. Ricochet had a bit of a role in Loners, but mostly Prodigy has been seeing play.

Sad to hear this, sort of. I hadn't actually read any of this. I had planned to get this as a trade since I was getting too many comics already. I like Alpha Flight.

Marvel cancels Alpha Flight with January’s Issue 8

http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/2011/10/marvel-cancels-alpha-flight-with-januarys-issue-8/

Less than two months after announcing the title had been upgraded from an eight-issue miniseries to an ongoing, Marvel
mag-glass_10x10.gif
has canceled Alpha Flight — with Issue 8.
The blow was delivered this afternoon in Marvel’s January 2012 solicitations, where the publisher labels “the big showdown between Alpha Flight and the Master of the World,” somewhat uncharacteristically, as “THE FINAL ISSUE!” (Marvel tends not to telegraph a title’s cancellation.)
“Fans and friends, I’m sorry to confirm that #AlphaFlight will indeed end with issue #8,” co-writer Greg Pak said on Twitter, “but the book was originally conceived as an 8 issue mini, so we’re still telling the big, fun story we intended from the start. THANK YOU, #AlphaFlight fans — you guys are the best and have provided us huge amounts of fun and inspiration. And have no fear … the story’s heading for a huge, satisfying ending that @fredvanlente and I have been champing at the bit to unleash for months.”
Featuring the creative team of Pak, his Incredible Herc collaborator Fred Van Lente and artist Dale Eaglesham, Alpha Flight had a strong debut in June, selling an estimated 45,850 copies and claiming the 20th spot on Diamond Comic Distributors’ Top 300 for the month. Sales dropped off dramatically with the second issue, to 26,860; by September’s Issue 4, that number had fallen to about 23,400, barely hovering above Marvel’s traditional line of death.
The cancellation, however, seems par for the course for Alpha Flight, a property that’s had a difficult time finding its footing, and an audience, since the end of its original 130-issue run in 1994 (some might argue since creator John Byrne left in 1985 after 28 issues). The four subsequent revivals were short-lived, with the longest lasting just 20 issues.

I didn't even know there was an Alpha Flight comic again.

It started like a month before Fear Itself started, maybe why it didn't do so well. It was automatically tied into Fear Itself while it was getting restarted.

Marvel cancels Victor Von Doom miniseries before its debut

Marvel has canceled its Victor Von Doom miniseries before its planned debut at the end of the month. “I see word is out about Victor Von Doomwriter Nick Spencer tweeted this morning, referring to a post at Kabooooom. “Trust me, no one is more bummed about this than I am.”
Announced in August, the four-issue miniseries teamed Spencer with Demo artist Becky Cloonan for what was supposed to be a tale of a teenaged Doom as he journeyed into Hell to save the spirit of his mother.
“Really proud of the scripts and hope to get to work with @beckycloonan sooner rather than later,” Spencer wrote on Twitter.
The news follows a round of layoffs at Marvel last month that included the project’s editor Alejandro Arbona, as well as the cancellations of Alpha Flight, All-Winners Squad and Iron Man 2.0 (the latter also written by Spencer).

Marvel cancels Destroyers miniseries by Van Lente and Hotz

http://robot6.comicbookresources.co...-destroyers-miniseries-by-van-lente-and-hotz/
Marvel has canceled Destroyers, a planned five-issue miniseries starring She-Hulk, The Thing, the Beast, Devil Dinosaur and other “monstrous” heroes. Announced in August at FanExpo Canada, along with the upgrade of Alpha Flight to an ongoing series, the project was set to debut in February from writer Fred Van Lente and artist Kyle Hotz.
Word of the cancellation surfaced this morning on Twitter, where Van Lente revealed “that series got the axe weeks ago.”
“There was no announcement,” he continued, in response to a follower’s question. “The book hadn’t been solicited yet, and just wouldn’t have. … The biggest bummer about Destroyers was Kyle Hotz had #1-2 pencilled, and it looked grrrrreat. Ah, well. That’s showbiz for you.”
The news follows the cancellations of Marvel titles Alpha Flight, Iron Man 2.0, All-Winners Squad and, just last week, Victor Von Doom, axed before its debut.

Marvel Comics Cancels "X-23"

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=35466
Readers scoping out CBR's coming advance look at Marvel Comics February X-Title solicitations will notice one omission: the "X-23" solo title.
CBR News has learned that the monthly comic starring Wolverine's clone daughter has been canceled. Reached for comment, a spokesman for Marvel would not confirm the end of the series but did say that writer Marjorie Liu has more work to come from the House of Ideas.
The move comes on the heels of several abrupt cancellations earlier this month for titles including "Victor Von Doom," "Alpha Flight" and "Destroyers." However, while those projects were either miniseries that weren't yet published or solicited or one that saw its planned launch as a monthly scuttled, "X-23" presents a different case entirely. Aside from being an established monthly title, the comic is currently Marvel's only ongoing starring a female lead and the one written by arguably their most recognized female writer in Liu.
In a recent installment of his AXEL-IN-CHARGE column on CBR, Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso noted that cancellations of titles like "Alpha Flight" came in part due to "new budgetary mandates" while the publisher is bolstering its line in a tough economy by shipping extra installments of it core series in 2012. In that light it is important to note two things. Firstly, at #104 on Diamond's Sale Estimates for October books, "X-23" was not the lowest-shipping Marvel Universe series. Behind it were such comics as "Thunderbolts," "X-Factor," "Avengers Academy" and "Ghost Rider" amongst others. Secondly, in the new X-Title solicitations no less than seven books will ship two issues in February including "Uncanny X-Men" and "Wolverine & The X-Men."
Fans of the X-23 character can take heart in one respect, however. The character will beginning to appear regularly in "Avengers Academy" starting in January's issue #24 as well as take part in the upcoming "Venom" mini event.
Marvel's advance X-Solicitations will hit in one hour, at 9AM Pacific. For more on this move and other Marvel Comics news, stay tuned to CBR.

PunisherMAX R.I.P.

http://www.comicvine.com/news/punishermax-rip/143882/
There's been a lot of talk about cancellations lately. We've seen books like VICTOR VON DOOM, X-23 and even the current GHOST RIDER all getting canceled. Another Marvel title coming to an end is PUNISHERMAX. Only, it's not getting canceled. It's just ending.
Coming in February, be prepared for the Punisher story you never thought you'd read (no, we're not talking about FrankenCastle). Jason Aaron and Steve Dillon are bringing their run on PUNISHERMAX to and end with issue #22. Frank Castle has been through it all and just when you think you know what's coming in the series finale, think again...

Black Panther: The Most Dangerous Man Alive ends in February

http://robot6.comicbookresources.co...he-most-dangerous-man-alive-ends-in-february/
Even as Comic Book Resources reports the cancellation of Ghost Rider, a preview of Marvel’s February solicitations reveals Black Panther: The Most Dangerous Man Alive will end with Issue 529.
Spinning out of the publisher’s “Shadowland” event, the title launched in December 2010 as Black Panther: The Man Without Fear, picking up the issue numbering of the ending Daredevil as T’Challa became the new guardian of Hell’s Kitchen. The series was written by award-winning mystery author David Liss (A Conspiracy of Paper, The Ethical Assassin), joined by such artists as Francesco Francavilla, Shawn Martinbrough and Michael Avon Oeming.
The solicitation text for Issue 529 teases, “Kingpin vs. T’Challa in this status-quo changing series finale,” raising the possibility that Black Panther could relaunch, or revert to a previous title and numbering. However, October sales estimates place the series at about 18,000 copies, below Marvel’s traditional line of death, and less than the just-canceled X-23 and Ghost Rider.
Those titles join a rapidly growing list of recent Marvel cancellations that includes Alpha Flight, Victor Von Doom, Destroyers, Iron Man 2.0 and All-Winners Squad. In addition, PunisherMAX concludes in February with Issue 22.
Update (1:12 p.m. PT): Liss has commented on Twitter, writing, “Sadly the news is true. Our Black Panther run ends in February with #529. But keep reading until the end. It’s going to be a wild ride!”
So Marvel has just cancelled:
Young Dr. Doom
X-23
Black Panther: Man without Fear
Ghost Rider
PunisherMAX
Alpha Flight
Destroyers

Iron Man 2.0
Daken

Is this usual for a comic company to cancel so many at one time?
