David Nutter To Direct & Executive Produce Bruno Heller’s CBS Legal Drama Pilot
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

EXCLUSIVE: Top TV director David Nutter has picked his 2013 pilot, signing on to direct and executive produce Bruno Heller’s CBS legal drama The Advocates from Warner Bros TV. It was one of two pilots the network picked up yesterday. Written/executive produced by The Mentalist creator Heller, Advocates centers on a female lawyer and a male ex-con who team up as “victim advocates,” going to the edge of the law to right wrongs and fight for the underdog. This marks a reunion for Nutter and Heller — Nutter also directed the pilot and second episode for Heller’s CBS/Warner Bros TV series Mentalist. Last season, WME-repped Nutter directed the pilot of the CW’s Arrow, one of the fall’s very few breakout hits. Of the 18 pilots he has directed, 17 have gone to series.
Given Nutter's track record, I think a series order may just be technicality. Just wish it sounded more interesting...

How is it possible that all of you enjoy Soap Operas?!?!

Goddammit, Doom, don't attract more of them! :argh:

There cant possibly be more.......can there?

I can't really say I really care if anybody here thinks I'm stupid for watching soaps. I grew up with them. I still get a kick out of it and it's not something I take all that seriously. Plus I still like characters.

I grew up watching Power Rangers but stopped once I reached puberty lol

There's just to many good shows available to waste time watching something as bad as Soaps

I grew up with comics. Most of my childhood friends stopped reading by puberty but I didn't. I have no intention of giving them up.

I even turn on BTAS once in a while because I loved it as a kid. I still like it.

Oh well, I guess I'm just immature? :oldrazz:

You do care. Otherwise you wouldn't have said anything.

I just find Soap Opera's too lame and cheesy most of the time with stupid plot twists as they struggle to keep consumers to come back to they project.

I'm totally not comparing Soap Operas to comics, by the way. :o

Yeah it sounds really formulaic and boring. So sick of legal dramas that are only marginally different from one another. I can imagine the cheesy trailer for this one: "He's an ex-con trying to do right for his many wrongs... She's a trial lawyer who's been inside the system and now determined to fix it. Together they will go right to the edge of the LAAAAAAWWW!!!!"

Seriously. All these plucky lawyers fighting for the underdog and the 99%. Geezus, whatever.

I hear ya, when are they FINALLY gonna make a show about a corrupt lawyer who'll do anything to get the 1 percenters off scot-free

I never understood the criticism of soaps especially given that a lot of prime time shows are basically glorified soaps and comics are just as crazy yet people here give them a pass. :o

But regular soaps don't have superpowers, so. :o

In all honesty, I agree. More often than not, the long-running comics these days just feel like they're throwing **** at a wall. "The character's been around for 70 years. What the **** do we do with them now?"

Spider-Man comics are unreadable these days. That much I can attest to.

Not a lawyer show, but that Ray Donovan show is about a celebrity problem solver/fixer.

Not much. You guys are just giving ETM far too much power, playing into his soap-crazed rants... :o

:cmad: sir, I like to think my rants are on par with Liz Lemon! And damn, she got it going on, but I disgress. But no, how did Liz marry that X-men dude..anyway...

I watch GH caused James Franco got me watching it with his first story arc back in November 2009. Then I was amazed by the level of acting on the show...so damn good. Hey, movie actors. Suck it. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :BA. Oh, and some of the ladies...mmmm. And I just now like soaps. Gonna watch the rebirth of OLTL on Hulu now.

Why, I may even watch some Port Charles on YouTube.

Also...:o...Did Lost ever explain that little cute shadow monster, Sawyer? :yay:

Yes, they did. And I'll pass the word along that you think he's cute. I think he'll really be touched. :awesome:

Im not sure which is worse, soaps or reality tv. Im waiting for them to mate and birth some even more horrifying hell spawn.
