Cancelled shows of Tomorrow: No Soap Operas Allowed

I didn't watch Revenge so that one that is a rip off sounds interesting to me, and JAG was great to bite me Matthew. :argh:

How about we watch an episode and then go catch the early bird special before we watch some Murder She Wrote and eat our prunes?[/90yearold] ;)

Still, you're making snap judgements. After this past season of theirs, I can't really blame you, but this new batch seems considerably better than the last, as far as I'm concerned.

In all fairness, most of my judgments are tongue-in-cheek.

NBC is in need of some massive hits in the fall. They can't just rely on Sunday Night Football like they have done this TV season.

Oh, were they? My bad. I probably should've caught on to that. Doesn't really seem like you to dive head-first into such ETM-level irrationality....

YEah, for the most part I was just making humorous observations from scrolling through a slide show of what NBC scheduled. I mean, the comedies look terrible. The Anne Heche show and the Modern Family rip-off won't necessarily be bad, but I can't see Middle America tuning into either so they will probably fail. The rest just look bland or uninspired and will probably get canceled early on. A few will get full seasons, but only because NBC has nothing else.

The drama lineup actually does look fairly solid, but every year NBC has solid looking dramas and they always seem to blow it.

I think a big problem is that NBC has no identity. CBS is the safe network targeted at older viewers. Fox is all about capturing younger viewers. ABC has built a niche for themselves with reality competitions and scripted shows that appeal primarily to female viewers. NBC has nothing. They will try something daring and new like Revolution but follow it up by announcing Chicago Fire, which looks so bland that it makes their other bland firefighter drama from a few years ago, Third Watch, look dynamic and exciting. This is the story of NBC. One risque comedy, one that truly looks like House meets Dr. Dolittle. It really does feel like their strategy is to throw darts at pictures on a wall and see what gets hit. There is no consistency, no effort to build a brand or a base audience.

NBC has also been struggling really bad when their highest rated program is Sunday Night Football. They have spent the last few years relying too much on it. Yes, it gives NBC massive ratings, but that's only one night a week, plus it's the NFL, millions watch the NFL anyways. However, when the NFL season ends, they go back to mediocrity. What NBC needs is a highly rated show (or shows) that compliments Sunday Night Football. We'll see what happens with this new crop of shows.

Whitney's dead. As it should be. :o

She's back from the dead.

Parks and Recreation, Up All Night and the show everyone loves to hate, Whitney are returning.

Parks and Rec, Up All Night, Whitney Renewed [UPDATE] Vulture.com

After yesterday's pickup for Community, NBC handed out more good news to its stable of sitcoms today, renewing Parks and Recreation and Up All Night. We've confirmed that Parks will air in the fall and won't be held until spring. (There's no episode count on Up All Night thus far.) UPDATE: Though sources initially indicated that Parks might get a 13-episode order like 30 Rock and Community, we're now hearing it'll actually get a full 22-episode order. And Vulture has just learned that Whitney, too, will be coming back for a second season.

Monday should have all the details for NBC's busy 2012-2013 schedule.

Oh and The Office was renewed for a ninth season but nobody cares.

Oh, for **** sake, NBC!

Sadly overall it had better ratings than all their comedies except The Office.

This will make everyone lose that awful Whitney renewed taste in their mouth, ABC gave Happy Endings a 22 episode order! Ah-maz-ing!

I can't really be too upset. Pretty much all the comedies I love have been renewed, in one way or another. If that means I need to put up with that piece of **** existing for another season, so be it.

Whitney coming back? Damn it! There goes a potential "Jonathan tries to get his job back as Jack's assistant" storyline on 30 Rock.

Still, remember a few years ago when CBS had 4 comedies, ABC had 2 that were always canceled, Fox just had animated shows and canceled live action comedies and NBC had 30 Rock/The Office and 2 canceled comedies?

NBC had the perfect lineup for one season with Community-Parks and Recreation-The Office-30 Rock and that seems to have opened the floodgates for comedies. That and Big Bang Theory and Modern Family being huge hits.

NBC also ordered Dane Cook's show for midseason which I think means NBC will have 13 comedies on tap next season. Back in the 1990s NBC would air 18 comedies during the week with ABC airing 12 and CBS at 10! All networks next season will probably just air 8 comedies each throughout the week. NBC will have 5 shows come in the spring to avoid reruns or will come on in case one bombs.

2 hour comedy blocks:
Fox: Sunday/Tuesday
NBC: Wednesday/Thursday
ABC: Tuesday/Wednesday
CBS: Monday/Thursday

No one hated Whitney more than me. I liked her as a comedian (that's why i watched the first episode) but I couldn't stand the show. It was on my Hulu Q so I watched them in 3s when i was bored. I'm not gonna lie, after the mid season break, it came back soo much better and different. I actually started to care for the characters...I...liked the show

So happy Chelsea Handler is gone. I hate her sooooooooo much. She may be the worst human being on tv. All the shows I watch are coming back. This is new for me because usually at this time every year i'm sad (R.I.P Detroit 1-8-7 & Journeyman :( )

and holy ****!! Grimm was renewed...now I feel bad that i stopped watching because I assumed NBC would cancel it and I didn't want to be attached when it goes. I'm buying the dvds for sure.

Sad to see Alcatraz go.

how could they cancel the finder? the final episode leaves to many questions!

Why does that site say Breaking Bad is canceled?

Poor choice of words, the last season will be split up but it is ending.
It also lists Damages which will also end this summer.

The only cancellation I'm really bummed about is "Awake". Everything else I like is at least getting a final and/or shortened season.

EVEN THOUGH I HATE "WHITNEY" WITH A PASSION FOR SOME REASON I LIKE THE GUY PLAYING HER BOYFRIEND. LIKED HIM EVEN MORE AFTER SEEING HIS GUEST SPOT IN "WORKAHOLICS"

IF "WHITNEY" DOES EVER GET CANCELLED I HOPE HE GETS ANOTHER SHOW

AFTER READING MY POST I JUST WANNA SAY, NO HOMO LOL

-DOOM :doom:
