People still whining about HIMYM need to shut the hell up for all eternity. Sorry, very very not sorry. They gave us one of the most narratively adventurous sitcoms of the modern age and if that ending was the price we had to pay for it, so be it. :o

Imaginary Friend Family Comedy From 'Goldbergs' Creator Scores ABC Pilot Pickup
The untitled single-camera comedy centers on a 30-something bachelorette whose life is turned upside down when she finally meets the love of her life — a divorced father with three kids. This triggers even more upheaval when the slightly unhinged imaginary friend she created as an only child suddenly reappears in her life to help her navigate the transition from single girl to a woman ready for a family.

The comedy is considered a blend of live-action and CGI animation and landed at ABC with a hefty pilot-production order with a series penalty attached in October.

Screw you, NBC! You're still on my **** list for killing Constantine:cmad:

You should be blaming the show runners, not NBC. NBC would have been stupid to renew a show nobody was watching.

If Goyer and Cerone had delivered a competent pilot that didn't need to be massively overhauled and re-shot the show likely would have been given a better timeslot and more promotion.

Yep. But Fred is animated now. Which I'll be curious to see how they pull off on a TV-schedule.

Shondaland's 'Romeo and Juliet' Follow-Up Lands ABC Pilot Order
The network has handed out a pilot pickup to Shondaland drama Still Star-Crossed, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The period drama picks up where Romeo & Juliet left off, charting the treachery, palace intrigue and ill-fated romances of the Montagues and Capulets in the wake of the young lovers’ tragic fate.
Call me crazy, but the idea of a story following Romeo and Juliet works for me. I highly doubt the conflict between those two families would've ended when those two dummies offed themselves.

NBC Orders Drama From 'True Blood' Author, Legal Soap to Pilot
Miranda's Rights is an hourlong legal soap that centers on 28-year-old Miranda Coale, who gets a shot at redemption six years after a sex scandal upended her life when she’s hired by a group of millennials living and working together in a start-up law firm.
Midnight, Texas hails from True Blood author Charlaine Harris, and is described as True Blood meets Twins Peaks. The best-selling novelist adapting her book trilogy as a drama series that explores what happens when the real world and the supernatural collide in a dangerous, sexy place full of dark secrets and mysterious people. It takes place in Midnight, Texas, a remote town where your neighbor could be a vampire, a witch, a werewolf, and even an angel. Mystery, horror and romance combine to both enthrall and frighten any outsiders who decide to venture into this unusual place.

Only Goyer, I blame for thinking NBC was a good idea but not Cerone. I'll trust Cerone over the New52 lapdog like Greg "My GL script sucks to I'll rip off Nolan and Singer" Berlanti anyday

Bays and Thomas ****ed up the moment they chose to keep the original ending rather than evolve it

The Green Lantern film is indeed terrible, but for me all five of the Berlanti-DC shows (Flash, Arrow, Legends, Vixen, Supergirl) are head and shoulders above Constantine. I like Constantine a lot, but mostly because of Matt Ryan's portrayal of the character and the general effort at being faithful to the source material. As far as writing, acting/casting (other than Ryan), effects, scores, and pacing go... give me the Berlanti shows all day.

Flash > Jessica Jones > iZombie > Daredevil >>> Arrow > Supergirl > Constantine > Powers >>>>> Agent Carter > Agents of SHIELD >>>> Gotham >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Smallville

Legends of Tomorrow is only one episode in but so far I'd place it in between Daredevil and Arrow on the above list. I saw the leaked Lucifer pliot and liked it, but it wasn't special. We'll see how that goes. Can't wait for the rest of the Netflix-Marvel shows and Preacher.

I won't stop complaining about it because they retroactively ruined everything by making the entire series a lie. Had they not kept that stupid ending then it would not have ruined a great series.

I feel like this is unfair because Smallville was sort of the first show of its kind, and the mistakes made there help paved the way for other shows

without Smallville there is no Arrow or Flash, and probably no Supergirl

Smallville was incredibly underwhelming and ill-conceived, butchering the character template but having fans for 8 seasons expecting "Superman" at any point was just crazy. I'm happy the current producers/ showrunners doing the CW shows are not intimidated by the comic book source material. Which can't be said of the first showrunners. Most notably Jeph Loeb, who still continues to butcher Marvel product now.

the climate of TV was different then, you had to trick people into tuning in to genre programming - hell LOST tricked people into watching sci fi

that is not the case today thankfully

Smallville wasn't the first comic book show. It didn't do anything new or special. It was just a whiny teen soap opera which was afraid of its heritage.

I would argue that all of those shows owe more to Buffy the Vampire Slayer than anything else.

Yup, Smallville was more like those old Superboy shows written and made by someone who hated the Superman character but loved Dawsons Creek. Now I see it just comes down to Jeph Loeb, because once he was fired, the show improved greatly. Adding Geoff Johns to the writers room gave the show even more flavor it was long missing.

Only the comics and cartoons anyway. We're lucky the Netflix deal was spared from him being hands on

Nor killed HIMYD as a result of that tomfoolery
